Windows defender uninstall

Windows Defender has the code0x800106ba of the error. I would like to manage programs started by the Defender, but can not access. It is not on my add or remove program list so I can't uninstall. I tried to reinstall but the Defender is still there somewhere. I am essential running safety. As my name suggests, I'm not too savvy computer. Any help would be most appreciated.

When you installed Microsoft Security Essentials it disabled Windows Defender by design since MSE has its own AntiSpyware component. Defender is no longer necessary. Microsoft® Security MVP, 2004-2010

    Hello Chinared,

You have a different Malware/antivirus program?  If so, you can remove Windows Defender by following the instructions on the link below.  If not, I would not recommend remove Defender because it leaves your computer unprotected.

With respect to the withdrawal of MSN, I don't know what you mean.  Are you referring to change your homepage, by deleting the preloaded software, etc. ?

Regarding the modules, it's entirely your call.  According to the version of Internet Explorer you are using, simply do a search on the web of IE (version) without Add-ons. This will give you the steps to remove them if you want.

  • If the window Defender performs the same work as McAfee Total Security, why is it when I uninstall the McAfee I get a message that I don't have anti-virus protection?

    Above says it all.

    Above says it all.

They do * not * do the same thing. Windows Defender is an anti-spyware program only. When you uninstall McAfee, you have p anti-spyware [protection, but no anti-spyware protection.]

Moreover, in my opinion, McAfee is one of the worst of the available security programs.  For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you are willing to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one (do not run more than one) of the following three:

    Avira AntiVir
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

  • How do we uninstall Windows Defender signatures

    Kaspersky is slow.

I had already uninstalled defender of windows using Add / Remove programs and it does not appear in this list more, but Kaspersky technical support told me that I also had to uninstall windows defender signatures.

How this, or check that they are really already uninstalled?

I don't really see an uninstall issue.

    Bob

    Hello

As I said, you can stop Windows Defender from running as shown above. It is up to
Windows and cannot be uninstalled and there is absolutely no reason to do so since
When it is not loaded at startup it has no influence on the system. Similarly, the definitions
    do not be uninstalled.

If you are having problems, it's Kaspersky bringing as usual. Their support is just
puffing smoke, confusing the issue, rather than admit their questions. BTW Kaspersky
knows this as well because they say something that they know is incorrect, that means
either they don't care or simply refuse to admit the real question.

Bottom line is that if you stop Windows Defender to run or the definitions
    no influence on the system.

Note: even though I am an MVP, I'm not a Microsoft spokesperson nor I tell
I do not have to be the truth. Kaspersky is your problem.

  • Cannot uninstall Windows Defender Windows XP computer.

    Original title: uninstall Windows Defender...

I am running Windows XP, Vista or 7. I downloaded Windows Defender on the MS site some time ago, but now I want it out for GOOD.  Can I uninstall anything else on my list of programs except Windows Defender. When I asked him to remove the program, he said: I am running in SafeMode (no) or my Windows Installer is not installed properly (not). How can I get it my computer?  I put it there, I should be able to take off, it shouldn't I?  I wouldn't be able to decide what is on my own computer and what isn't?

    Hello

    1. What exactly is the error message you reciev when you try to uninstall Windows Defender?
    2. You have Microsoft Security Essentials installed on the computer?

Microsoft Security Essentials has not automatically disabled Windows Defender in Vista or Windows 7, you must turn off to avoid conflicts. Windows Defender can't be uninstalled Vista or Windows 7.
If Microsoft Security Essentials does not automatically uninstall Windows Defender on XP, you must manually uninstall Windows Defender through Control Panel of configuration/Add / Remove programs.

You can try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps to resolve problems with installing and uninstalling the programs in Windows computers.

  • Uninstall Windows Defender Checkpoint

HI, I'm having issues after uninstall it last of WDC - my WORK as messengers, but explore cannot display Web pages. I did twice before the last control point and internet system restore work again until the "Windows Defender Cehckpoins uninstall again. What is going on? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi EsterDQ,

    · You have security software installed on your computer?

    · Are running you windows update regularly?

    · Windows XP is your windows XP?

In Windows defender real-time protection monitors critical checkpoints in Windows. These control points are triggered when programs make changes to your Windows configuration. These changes can occur when you install the software on your computer, or they can occur when the software spyware or other potentially unwanted software tries to install on your computer.

If the real-time Protection system detects a change in any checkpoint, Windows Defender alerts you and offers the opportunity for you to allow or block the change.

When you receive the error message internet explore cannot display the Web page, run the fix it from the link below and check if it helps: you receive an error message in Internet Explorer: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage":http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956196

Also adding to that, I suggest to run online virus scan and check if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

I use Windows Security Essentials OK, but Windows Defender is DISABLED and cannot be turned on. What should do?

Windows Defender is part of the Vista operating system. It cannot be uninstalled, nor can you install another fresh copy in the system. This Windows Defender lives and dies with the operating system.

It is called Microsoft Security Essentials, not Windows Security Essentials.

MSE (Microsoft Security Essentilas) is supposed to close Windows Defender.
This is because MSE has his own Defender. Run 2 defenders in the same machine allows to create conflicts.

Therefore, it is normal to find widows Defender NOT enabled if you installed MSE.

You don't have to do a thing. So be.

If you want Windows Defender turned on because you want to access with the startup programs, here's another way without using Windows Defender...

Start button in the search box, type msconfig... Enter... click on start up tab... Here is the list of your startup programs.
