Windows deleted my audio driver updates

Original title: last update of Windows 7

I installed 17 updates last night for Windows 7 and one of them removed my audio driver. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hello

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

'Remove an update - Windows 7'

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/remove-update#1TC=Windows-7

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or restore the updates of Windows hidden in Windows 7 and Windows 8"

Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

See you soon.

I managed to delete my audio driver.  I don't need an update.  I tried.  I went on the Device Manager, or what it's called and my speakers appear, but they are bright color.    I guess what I need to know is to get a download of a driver.  I am running windows xp pro.  I've looked everywhere and all I find are updates and links to a possible purchase.  I know that windows has free downloads, I just need to know where to get them.  Please help me.  Thank you.

Do re-post with your PC/laptop, name and reference number.

Or go to the manufacturers website and download the audio drivers XP-specific for your model.

If the re - install the drivers does not work, try this:

Right click on desktop > Open > in the menus at the top of the page tools > File Options > tab view (or view) > scroll up to 'Show hidden files' and check it out. > Apply/OK your way out of the small window.

Access the c:\windows\system32\Dllcache and locate the sndvol32.exe file > copy it it here: c\windows\system32 overwrite when asked. Re-start.

    See you soon,.

  • No sound after audio driver update

    sounds on my pc

Hello, after installing a driver realtek hd audio (new)

I couldn't hear anything on my pc, I used wht I have seen that a windows audio driver need help thank you

Try to roll back the driver to the one who used to work as follows: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/roll-back-troublesome-device-drivers-in-windows-vista/.

Then go to the manufactuerer of computer or the manufacturer of your audio device (if it came with the computer) ane search for updated drivers and be ABSOLUTELY sure that they are those of your audio device, AND they are compatible with your verision of Vista.  Then you can try to install these updates to see if they work.  If the same problem occur, then for some reason, these drivers do not work with your system and rollback again the one who worked and that you shouldn't use them.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Hi guys,.

Recently, I upgraded a W520 at Windows 10 with Dolby installed HT technology. Of course it doesn't work anymore, and the audio is horrible, especially from the internal microphones.

Did someone come up with a way to install the Dolby Digital Plus, on based Conexant Systems? I really need the audio improved to my softphone as soon as POSSIBLE.

    Thank you.

Moved to post in the right forum Thinkpad

It seems that Peter has removed the files to skydrive. Just install the file DTPC.msi, during the installation make sure "Active content Install" Wizard and "driver installation: DHT (liberation)" and you should be good to go.

And Yes driver signing verification is only temporariliy disabled, and according to your boot options there are different ways to turn it off. I have more than one o/s and I also run bitlocker, so for me, it may be different on your system.

  • Conexant HD Audio Driver Update output

I have a Pavillion dV6000 laptop.  I tried to download the latest version of the driver Conexant HD Audio Output.  I get the following message is displayed: "failed driver installation.  Cannot find the device support for this driver. "I have installed SP31994.  IM on XP SP3.  Any suggestions?

I suspect that it's a software problem with Media Player 11 and the mp4 format/codec.

Are you open to the use of one media player other than Windows Media Player?  I have not personally experienced problems using VLC media player if you are open to alternative.

VLC can be found here and supports the mp4 natively.  Verification of this can be found here under the entry formats.

    EDIT

It could also be that the video is not synchronized with the audio.  Is updated the video driver?  Here is the latest driver from HP for the system.  HP more that probably stopped making new drivers for this device.  You may have better success update the video card via the Nvidia site.

    Hello

Today, I downloaded the updated driver sp38899.exe and during installtion, an open window to the top warning me that the original driver will be deleted and that, after the installation, I need to go back to the original drivers and double-click setup.exe.  I'm really confused on why I need to do this.

If the original driver is deleted how can I restore it if I need to?

    Any help will be appreciated.

The original driver can be installed in the Recovery Manager.

The Recovery Manager are accessed through a combination of keys F10 as soon as possible after setting under tension, or use the recovery disks.

The Recovery Manager is used for more that just restore your PC/computer laptop delivered State. All the original drivers are stored in reccovery partition and a recovery disc #2 disc set for use when and if necessary.

  • Audio driver deleted by accident - help needed please!

I have a Dell pc with windows xp installed. While trying to make the space I think I deleted the audio driver that I can now hear her apart from an annoying beep that happens when I receive a mail in outlook or a pop up box. Not of her so I'm trying to listen to anything via the internet and it says no audio device.

Tried various 'free downloads' who just seem to scan then want to charge you.

Not a technical person so appreciate all the advice without having me to try reinstalling windows xp again (I do have the original disks, but want to avoid if I can so I don't lose all my favorites/password etc settings).

    Thank you :-)

I would go to dells, select Web site your computer since the downloads section here drivers model: http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs and simply install the audio driver of their. It has also any program or the driver that comes with a dell computer. Don't forget to select drivers and downloads to first and then the model of your computer and in the list. If your confused, I think they provide a program on their somewhere to download the driver automatically but most often the manual of your computer has this info, or your computer has the model number and the important info printed on the computer.

  • Deleted audio driver...

I have a gateway computer and my friend deleted my audio driver as a sick joke.  How can I get it back?

    Hi John,.

There are three ways to recover. First choice would be to download a new one – you will need your model specific or part number (look for a sticker on the bottom of your laptop, or on the back of your desktop computer).

Second choice is to pick up the trash. If his lack of his first letter, simply add it again. And the third choice is to do a system restore to an earlier point in time when the pilot was successfully loaded and functional. To do this, go to control panel, click System, then click on the system protection in the left menu. When this window opens, the restoration of the system is in the middle of the page, click it and follow the instructions on the screen.

Let me know if one of them solve the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • The Windows driver update

I have a popup that says that I should update my driver and he said it was a partnership of the window.  I have had nothing like fear of.  Barb Hoffman

    Hi Barbara,

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft Community.

It is good to do the research on things that you are not sure of and I appreciate that you posted this on our forum.

For me to better understand the issue and to find the cause of the problem, please answer money questions:

    1. What is brand and model computer?
    2. When did you get this pop-up message?
    3. You did any changes made to your computer , after which the pop-up appeared?
    4. What is the accurate and complete message which is to appear?

To update the drivers, the simplest method is to install through windows updates.

Check the updates of Windows for the latest driver updates.

Check Windows updates if driver updates are available. If so, the same install and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key + W on the keyboard.
    • Type the updates in the search bar and click the Windows Update icon from the result of the search.
    • In the Windows Update window, click on the link: check the updates from the left side of the window to receive a new list of updates.

If updates are available, install all updates listed there. Make sure that you install all updates including the optional updates.
