Original title: data execution prevention-window Explorer error
Data execution prevention launches when I try to access the windows Explorer, and more particularly when I try to watch videos. So I tried to turn off DEP for windows Explorer. Now, I can access my videos, but they all have text on them that says video PHOTO, & www.jpg.com. I have not downloaded new software recently, so I don't know where it comes from. I ran my antivirus sofware and malwarebytes, and my system is to come clean. How can I remove this from my videos? Thank you!
This isn't how to diagnose and repair the DEP errors - especially not Windows Explorer DEP errors.
But 6 days of inactivity and a link to an article of a MSE = automatic response.

Windows Explorer hangs when opening office files
Windows Explorer crashes when opening files on the desktop.
The accident occurred when going back (or hit the back button) when a desktop folder is used.
After a few weeks of frustration, I've isolated a few things that makes it a little easier to deal with, and maybe this will help some members of the community help me pinpoint the problem.
I've exhausted trying to use system restore system backups.
I discovered the stops 'window launch folder in a separate process' the 5-10 sec reload of the Windows desktop.
Open the folder by opening a window of the Explorer than navigating to C; \Users\USER-ME\Desktop does NOT cause the error; just when you open the folder 'from' the office. (which goes against the convenience to keep files open on the desktop at first project)
I suppose that as a last resort, I could start using a location (like C; \MyDesktop) place the files in there, and then create shortcuts to them.
I was about to do an installation of Windows o/s before you find the option 'split the process' & isolate when & how it occurred (as first of all, I thought it was totally random)
The only unusual thing that occurred near the time of the problem was trying to uninstall [Google Drive] that crashed due to a security locking violation. I reinstalled today, uninstalled mode safe, found guilty folder (... AppData \Local\Google\..) used 'Take Ownership' and then finished. But after a registry cleaning & several resets, the problem persists, then maybe it was just a coincidence.
There are a lot of reasons, it may happen, but my guess is a failed shell extension. She's going to Extensions are what adds options to the context menus you see when you right-click on various things. The hull of the Office is different from cases, even if a program (like Google) added an option to the menu in both places, so it is possible for one to have a problem. You might be familiar with the common shell extensions, like "Scan this file with Norton" click on menus and others.
You can use a program like shell ShellExView to disable the extensions one by one to help out. Although my personal dose of this situation is to create a new user account on the computer, then do drag your files into the new account, and delete the one damaged.

ole32.dll in Windows Explorer error message...
Hello all!
My PC has developed a problem recently in that whenever I try to open Windows Explorer, it crashes and displays the following message:
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close."
The detailed text of the error message is the following:
AppName: explorer.exe
AppVer: 6.0.2900.5512
ModName: ole32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512
Offset: 00020645I tried searching everywhere on the Net and have not been able to find a solution to this problem. Any help on how to fix this problem without having to reinstall Windows XP would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
See you soon,.
Kevin
P.S. I'm on Windows XP Pro with all the service packs and updates.
You will find a copy of ole32.dll in the I386 folder on your XP disc - however, it is in a compressed State & I don't know how you unpack & install - except if you do repair your Windows installation, boot from the XP CD.
To do this, go into the BIOS of your pc and change the boot priority so that the pc boot on the CD/DVD first. Then, you insert your XP CD and restart your pc.
After that installation of Windows will load the drivers of material it is a list of the 3 options. If you press ENTER, the Setup will search for your existing XP installation.
When he finds it, make sure it is highlighted and press R to begin the repair.
The repair is essentially an express installation of XP.An alternative, if your original installation was Service Pack 2, is to look in the \Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder, because there should be a copy the ole32.dll in SP3 version.

I have seen questions about this error in Re (with no response) Task Manager, but it popped up just for me just trying to move a document to a new file (file) in Windows Explorer. I'm not a techie. I use a new Windows 7 laptop, networked with a desktop computer running XP - live files on the XP, so I guess it's an XP issue. The file tree is quite long. I tried to delete and recreate the folder. No luck. New - I got a few word documents in a folder, I created a folder under the original, tried to move word documents & PDF files in the folder and suddenly get this error. I created thousands of new records - never saw this before.
The previous times I've seen that error (regarding printer installation issues or Scheduler tasks), if seemed to be linked to a care/firewall Windows. Just to smile, have you tried to disable any software firewall/security (temporarily) and see if that makes a difference.
BTW, it's a new show (as a few update/install can be causing it) or always happened?

I am running XP SP3 and I'm trying to recover from multiple virus & malware removed by AVG Free, MBAM, SAS & Spybot. I also used Advanced System Care and AVG PC TuneUp and both of them seem to help.
I have read other discussions here and tried to run the System File Checker - all that happens is a black window opens for a millisecond and closed.
I have a lot of questions, but these are my point I suppose to jump. Thanks in advance :)
Your system is currently or has been infected by malware.
I suggest read you this procedure and do the 2 scans of malware down first, then start at the beginning.
I read you already ran MBAM and SAS, but make sure that you have run the MBAM and SAS with updated definitions.
The System File Checker will not help you. If you want the run later for smile and a good feeling, we can work on that later.
It is easy to get rid of the error message by doing something like disable the startup item in msconfig (if you can still find), but I suggest you fix the problem and difficulty not only the symptom of the problem simply remove the startup message.I would recommend also you start to search in the register, unless you have a backup because there is no 'Cancel' or 'quit without saving changes' option in regedit. If you make a mistake, that's all. These ideas relieve 'rapid' and sometimes risky of the symptom, but may not actually solve the problem. Also, I'd be suspicious of ideas that begin with the words "try." You don't need to try things, you need to fix things. Here are the detailed instructions that protect you and solve your problem in the 'right' way. There is very little. DLL files that should be loaded from the C:\WINDOWS folder and is not one of them.Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..A "Cannot find...". ', ' Failed to start..., "Could not load..." ». "Might not work... "" Cannot run ""error loading... ". "or"specific module could not be found"message at startup is usually related to the malware that has been configured to run at startup, but the referenced file has been removed after a malware scan, leaving behind him a startup item or the registry entry pointing to a file that does not exist. It might be a removal of malicious software or an application not installed. The entry may have a curious looking name since it was probably generated at random when the malware was installed. If you search your system for the referenced file, you may not find.Windows attempts to load this file but cannot locate because the file has been deleted for most probably during an analysis of the malware. However, an orphaned associate of remainders of startup parameter or registry entry and tells Windows to load the file when you start or connection. So you should delete the referenced entry Windows stop trying to load or run the file. It may or may not be included in the registry, but you can find it. Autoruns (see below) you get the elements no matter where it is.If you just locate and uncheck the item in msconfig, which disables the element but does not remove the reference to the element of false starting your computer. The msconfig program is not a Startup Manager, that's a troubleshooting tool. Disabling things in msconfig to put an end to the messages and think that your problem is solved is short-sighted and leave behind him a sloppy XP configuration. Just disable the display of a start-up error message should not count as a 'solution' to the problem. If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can find and remove the reference directly from there or remove it using a popular third-party tool called Autoruns. The problem can always be found in the registry well. Before making any changes to your registry by hand or with third-party tools, don't forget to first make a backup of the registry. There is no cancellation or exit without saving the option in regedit. Here is a link to a popular registry backup tool:You can use Autoruns to find the element of start remains little matter where he's hiding. Autoruns does not install anything on your computer. It will display all startup locations where the reference may be then you can turn it off or remove it completely. Here is the download link for Autoruns:Run Autoruns.exe and wait that he at the end of the filling of the list of entries. When the Autoruns is finished scanning your system, it will say "Ready" in the lower left corner. Autoruns can be a little intimidating to first if you have never seen it before because it displays a lot of information. You are really interested only a few sections. The problem is usually to start the system or the user startup entries, then click the connection tab and see if the startup item is there.Scroll through the list and look for a boot entry associated files in the error message. If you can't find on the connection tab, look in any tab.Right-click on the offending entry and choose Remove. If you are not sure what it is, you can simply disable, restart and if the problem is resolved and then remove the offending entry. If you don't see it in Autoruns, you may edit the registry and remove the item from your startup folder it. Autoruns shall display the same information however.Given that you had or have an infection, followed with this:Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if you wish.Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. Right click on a drive in Windows Explorer, error
Hello
I hope someone can give me a viable solution to this problem with my Windows Explorer which persisted for months. I can't right click on my computer or any player it contains (C:, D:, etc.) via Windows Explorer. I tried everything I could find by Googling the problem. Outside these three methods listed at the link below, I finished the antivirus scans, deleted applications and spyware scans. Nothing fixes the problem. My biggest problem is that my C drive is an SSD, so I cannot defragment on it (or shouldn't, at least). When a drive is a click right (left click has no problems), I have error: Windows Explorer has stopped working.
I followed the three methods available here to resolve, but the problem persists:
http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-performance/Windows-Explorer-not-responding/3aa32aab-defd-4c51-bcf5-cad0d046d59e
Any other ideas? Thanks for any help you can provide!
The problem may be with the nvshext.dll:
LoadedModule [179] =nvshext.dll C:\windows\system32\
Nvshext.dll (NVIDIA CPL Extension of Menu context) is a component of the NVIDIA graphics driver and can handle mode without failure.
If you have not already trying to update the NVIDIA graphics driver.
If the problem persists try ShellExView to disable nvshext.dll (NVIDIA CPL Extension of Menu context).

Blocking Windows Explorer error Windows Explorer has stopped working
I'm working with my photos, and he repeats to me "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then it stops. What can I do?
If the problem just started to happen, you can return to a State of operation with the ability to restore integrated. This will not affect any of your folders and only takes 2 minutes. You can cancel it even if you do not like, is by far the safer, faster, easier option. See here for more information: http://cmdrkeene.com/quickly-repair-pc-problems

Hi Sapphire06,
Thanks for posting your question.
You can try running a SFC Scan:
1. click on the start menu, choose all programs, then Accessories, and then right-click on the item to the command prompt and select run as administrator.
2. click on continue to allow to open a prompt with administrative privileges.
3. run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc/scannow
4. the cmd prompt should list text stating "start system analysis. This process will take time. »
5. wait for the scan to complete (this may take several minutes, so be patient). This command will scan all protected system files and attempt to replace the incorrect versions by appropriate Microsoft versions
6. once the analysis is complete, the SFC tool will indicate whether or not it found no problems and whether or not he was able to correct
7. If any errors are reported that SFC could not resolve, there are steps in this knowledge base article which explain how to locate and attempt to correct the errors.
8. after fixing errors that are found, check the resolution. You can try to run a virus scan and Trojans using your antivirus software.
For the online Scan: www.safety.live.com
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistasecurity/thread/ba80504b-61f1-4D71-960f-b561798b7b42You can also try to restore the computer to the previous date on which it was working fine.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212/

The column Windows Explorer: I can control what is called a type?
The default program for PDF files is Foxit. Excellent program, but I don't want this is the Type of file. I must say just PDF. Is it possible to control this? I have a right click, properties, does not. Each file type is long-term. As:
Foxit Reader PDF document
Microsoft Word document
It would be great if I could do to just display the extension under Type. Is this possible? Like this:
PDF
DOC
TXT
RTF
HTM
HTML
Yes. Possible.
Control Panel-> Folder Options
Then click on the "File Types" tab at the top. Wait for the window to fill.
then scroll down in the window and look for the extension of the file you are interested in.
and then click once to select this file extension and then click on the button "Advanced".
a "Change the file Type" window opens. The medium-high, next to the icon, you can change the type of file to anything you want.
Then press "OK" your way out.
