Windows Explorer favorite empty and cannot add all items
I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and recently restored a backup after a system crash. The restore process required me to change the locations by default of the special folders such as Documents, downloads, video, etc.
After a reboot, my favorites (at the top of the left pane in Explorer) became unresponsive.
Favorites is empty and I can't drag all items in the Favorites window ('forbidden access' illustrious red sign).
Even after reset favorite special folder locations is always insensitive.
By clicking on "Add current location to Favorites" in the menu context has no effect.
But increasingly, when I highlight favourites and click on file-> properties from the Explorer menu, nothing happens.
I also tried to create shortcuts in the folder \Users\me\Favorites, but they do not appear.
Anyone else have this experience or you know a fix?
Thanks for your reply Gael.
I managed to fix it with a different tactic, however.
I tried to save a worksheet Excel to your Favorites, just to see where it will end up and was told by the dialogue that the file could not be saved to C:\Users\me\Links\Links\file.xlsx because the path does not exist.
Then I created another folder in \Users\me\Links called links to complete the path C:\Users\me\Links\Links\ and all my favorite shortcuts in there.
Following the closure of the Explorer window and re - open another, all my favorite shortcuts were again under Favorites at the top of the left pane.
Problem solved.
I don't know how I managed to set the location of my favorites to C:\Users\me\Links\Links\ in the first place well but I changed the location of the tip links to C:\Users\me\Links to remove the redundant subdirectory and all seems ok again.
Thanks again for the support.

Menu of bookmarks yahoo comes empty, and cannot add any page.
All bookmarks previously added to the yahoo bookmarks bar disappeared. The bookmark shows only a white and will not respond. How can I fix it?
Firefox allows you to toggle extensions such as the extension of Yahoo. If it is already activated and does not, you may need to contact Yahoo for more information as to what is wrong or if there is an update available.
To confirm that the extension is enabled, open the page modules. Either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then find your Yahoo toolbar. Note that disabled extensions down cluster.
If you use the Yahoo toolbar on another browser, can you confirm that your data is always in the cloud of Yahoo and available once your toolbar is running again?

Windows Explorer Ramdomly stops and restarts.
Whenever I'm reviewing my files, be it on the C or D drive, windows Explorer randomly crashes and restarts, happened for a while now and I have no idea what causes it. However I noticed that happen when navigation control panel or searching for a file/location, for example, when I'm looking for a file to attach to an e-mail or by selecting a destination for the download of a file. It is really annoying because sometimes I have to move and copy files and Windows Explorer just throws me and I will once again to the location of the folder. I tried in safe mode, it happens again, but in fact it does not restart, it just closes and I have to open it again through Manager tasks, often crashing the Manager of the tasks, all in safe mode. I also tried the clean boot and continues to be, and sfc/scannow told me that corrupted files have been found but unable to fix, and I have no idea how to proceed.
(1) run chkdsk as follows:

Enter: yNow, restart the PC.
Keep an eye on the screen and watch to see if errors are reported.

Try to add a page to a pages document. It worked until now but just finished page 13 with text and photos and cannot add another page, using macbook pro with El Capitan and the most recent version of the Pages.
You have placed your beam to insert at the end of your text on page 13 and then apply Insert menu: Page Break? In the v5.6.2, Pages I just add a new page to a section of four pages to this approach.

sending pictures without live skydrive or windows
I have windows 7 and now I have windows live mail 2011 and cannot send pictures without this whole enterprise of skydrive or sign into windows live. I want to just be able to send and resize my photos that I have with outlook or mail in the previous windows and entertain my friends with the same ease. I need to return to the previous version of mail but do not know how and what I lose my contacts and emails from the Inbox?
1: what version of previous mail? Win7 has no default program.
2: is it a POP3 account? Open a new message window and then attach the photos. No need for supplements.

Local TV news sez DO NOT USE Windows Explorer for XP and Windows 7!
Information TV local sez not to use Windows Explorer in Windows XP and Windows 7. Microsoft will provide you with a "Toolbox" as a temporary solution. There is problem that a 'hacker' can support my computer through Microsoft Windows Explorer. Is a CLEAR and PRESENT an IMMEDIATE DANGER? Can I uninstall Windows Explorer? What should I install to take the place of the Windows Explorer? How can I find the 'Toolbox' of Microsoft? I use Microsoft Update at least twice a week to keep abreast of updates. I have McAfee Security installed. Thanks for your comments, Kenneth Markson - * address email is removed from the privacy *
Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers or see on TV.
Then, you must distinguish 'Windows Explorer' (file management tool) and "Internet Explorer" (web browser). You cannot uninstall Windows Explorer. It is an integral part of Windows.
You can't really delete Internet Explorer either, although in recent versions of Windows, you can remove a lot of it.
You probably think of this story of a discovery recently 'zero-day exploit' in Internet Explorer: http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_tense/2012/09/18/internet_explorer_zero_day_vulnerability_ie8_ie9_hack_means_you_should_switch_browsers_.html
You can read about so-called bypass Microsoft here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/advisory/2757760 but they are so heavy that they are virtually worthless for the average user.If you are worried, I suggest the following:
1. do not visit web sites that you don't know everything.
2. make sure that your antivirus application is up-to-date.
3. make sure that you have Microsoft Update set to automatically get updates (not just twice a week, although that normally, it's probably OK): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306525
4 and probably first of all, rather than Finally, download and install another browser, like Firefox or Google Chrome. If you use one of these browsers instead of Internet Explorer, there is no need to actually remove Internet Explorer (and you still need to use it to get Microsoft Updates).Get Firefox here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/
Download Chrome here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/
Get opera here: http://my.opera.com/community/opera/get
