  Window Live Mail does not open the wmv files.  It comes up with an error that says: (wrong parameters).  Also gives the path that looks all wrong.  How can I change these settings?

  If I save the wmv on my desktop it will open, so I think that the file association is OK.

  I use Windows Live Mail (desktop application) for the mail. It is installed and since I built the machine first. I've recently updated for 2011 through Windows Update. In the Start Menu, the default e-mail link no longer works. If I go to customize, I have the options of Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, and Outlook. If I select Windows Live Mail, it launches a web browser to go to live.com and use Hotmail (which I don't use).

  Now, if I choose Windows Mail, and then re - open Windows Live Mail manually, I can set it by default. You want to remove from the list? "I can't get around that. Under "Default programs" in the Control Panel, Windows Live Mail is not yet there.   This happened to me also. Automatticly updates installed on 1-13 and caused a problem Windows Live. I restored the computer to a time before the update, but today, (1-14) he be reinstalled automatically again. Same problems up to a removal of updates. KO 2419640 & KB2454826. Not sure how to cut automatic updates and it will probably happen again.

  Window live mail will not recover messages unless I restart my pc. If I reboot and then open direct mail all right, but if I wait a few hours (perhaps a shorter time...)   I get a message at the opening of Windows LIve Mail on "Windows Live Mail database recovery" and shortly after it says that Windows Live Mail has stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. He has not found a solution for the moment, however.

  Because you offered advice so quickly, I tried you can see how I solved my problem. I did all that you suggested, but nothing helped. However:

  I've done some thinking on this windows live mail and the creation of a new directory have in common. The answer I came up with that was indexing. I tried to change the "indexing options" but this dialogue has also been insensitive. So I went to administration-> Services tools and attempted to stop "looking for a window. It would not stop. I disabled it and its entries to try again and restarted. I have Windows Explorer back and will then attempt my email.

  OK, this has solved the symptom, but does not solve the problem (I don't have work indexing).
