  • Windows Live Movie maker crashes at 11%

I edited my video clips, music etc added and everything seems fine, but when I try to publish my movie in Windows LIVE movie on DVD maker or my computer it is about 11% and then closes its doors.  Sometimes it will say that WLMM is unresponsive, but mostly it just closes and goes back to the folder where the project is stored.

Video files have been converted to wmv, and the music is in mp3.    I used Windows Movie maker before without any problem, but it's with LIVE movie maker.

Ok... I guess that the rules on MP3 files as the problem but
as a general rule... WMA is generally more reliable in Movie Maker.

If Vista Movie Maker 6 can handle the project, why not use it?

What is the duration of this project?

Failure to register is usually caused by incompatible or damaged
source files. Or... the project is too big or too complex for the system
resources. Making a lot of changes and add a lot of transitions and
the effects may increase the risk of failure.

Start over and create a smaller project can sometimes be
the answer, or you can start deleting the files and try saving after
each withdrawal until what you determine the file causing problem.

FWIW... you can also try to create the project using Windows DVD creation.

277 saved recording, partially modified pieces, in total, 15 minutes, and he has worked twice with the same data.  Never any accidents at the same place.  Sometimes shows yellow triangle with exclamation point in some frames.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled windows live essentials again.

Only a hint that you are posting in the wrong forums.   Try the WLSC.   There is certainly a gate here for WL Essentials.   I do not know how WL MM rests here...

Apparently, it also has its own portal.   Who would have thought?

I have Windows Live Movie Maker (V 2011, Build 15.4.3502.0922) and without exception whenever I try to save a project as a video, it will fail with DEP closing the program.

    Thank you

    ===============================
Sorry... I don't have the exact answer, but I know
some questions that may contribute to this problem...

    (1) using the incompatible sources in the project files.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

    (2) the project is too large and/or complex.

The fix for this would be to create several small
projects and save each of them in the movie WMV
format in a folder on your hard drive.

The collected WMV files can then be re-imported
in Movie Maker to bring together in a single
film or they can be imported into DVD Maker
and each comes a scene on a DVD.

    (3) codec issues.

Sometimes, this can be corrected by opening film
Manufacturer and go to the... Tools / Options / Compatibility
tab, and uncheck all filters / OK.

    (4) video driver needs to update.

If you reduce the graphic hardware acceleration as
According to the instructions in the following article... you can
See an improvement. If... Yes, you need to update
your video driver. (improvement or not... do not forget to)
return to full acceleration after the experience)

How to put in back of graphics hardware acceleration

(scroll down to: "If you use Windows Vista")

Also, some systems cannot handle Vista Movie
Machine 6 or Windows Live Movie Maker... among those
instances... There's an earlier version which can be
    downloaded and installed:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

  • Windows Live Movie Maker error Code: 0x80004005__

When I try to open Windows Live Movie Maker from my list of startup programs, there is a quick flash on my screen, and then the error Code window appears telling me that WLMM had to close and try again from, it. Then this error code is present.

I am able to open and start Messenger, Mail opens (although I do not use it), Live Call said it's "not available at this time", Gallery of photos and writer, both work very well.

I wondered if maybe that Movie Maker will not open because I'm in Win 7 and have Windows DVD Maker installed natively with the operating system. I'm probably wrong thinking it, but I was wondering.

Anyway, the idea is to open Windows Live Movie Maker. Any thoughts on what could be the problem would be really appreciated.

Sorry, Windows Live Movie Maker needs to close unexpectedly. Please restart Windows Live Movie Maker, and then try again (error: 0xC9460025).

I get this when I open my saved file, I am changing. It allows to work properly since I installed Windows Live (about 2 months ago). 2 months ago, I bought my laptop. given that Win7 is not a Director as I have on my xp & vista I download this. Gee, this is a version darn downgrade. I've thought since win7 is new version I get a better version of WMM. But no! I'm used to movie maker xp and vista, light and easy to use, but are looking for more that's why I bought win7. Very disappointing! In any case I have not started to use itso until now no problems with my previous published videos. So today, I am in my final cut when WLMM stop working. It crashes and do not continue reading of the saved file. I tried to uninstall the windows live, but it will not be a badge. Cannot be deleted. I tried to fix it by reinstalling hoping it will work but still the same. I also tried to do system restore where I think it works well, but still does not work properly. A suggestion or a solution to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Please reply as soon as POSSIBLE. I would like to know how to solve this problem or at least how to get rid of windows live. I'll just use another video montage.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

The material should not be a problem, I usually run Movie Maker on my desk with similar specifications, but I also run it on a laptop of much lower quality. When Movie Maker freezes, just after the opening, after having tried to add a video file, after a specific action?

If it crashes right after the opening, then it is possible that it is corrupt. You can uninstall, reboot, download a new copy and reinstall, which could take care of this.

If it freezes after trying to add a video file so the video codecs might be damaged or missing. You can try to install a new audio/video codecs for any type of file you are working with. I heard good things about pack k - lite codec:

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

You can also try watching the video filters activated in Movie Maker. Go to tools-> options-> tab compatibility. Then try checking and unchecking each filter, I had a problem with them at some point, but I don't remember which.

You have posted in a forum of WIn XP, so I assume you are using XP?

Using Win XP Movie Maker 2.1... You can save as .avi as follows:

To save a DV - AVI movie file...
    (and other options)
Type of... CTRL + P (or go to...) File / save movie file)
to open the wizard movie recording.
    Choose... My computer.
    Next /.
Enter a name and a location.
    Next /.
    Show more choices.
    Other parameters.
Open the window of the droplet and choose... DV - AVI.
    Next /.
Wait while the movie is saved.
    Finishing...

Or you can try to convert your. WMV file to the. MOV or. AVI
    format using a converter.

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup296.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup296.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select ' all-your choice of formats "/ OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...
