Windows Live Movie Maker keeps crashing, for the most part closed by DEP

I have Windows Live Movie Maker (V 2011, Build 15.4.3502.0922) and without exception whenever I try to save a project as a video, it will fail with DEP closing the program.

I tried to stop DEP, but this does not seem to make a difference.
Any ideas, or should I stop using it and buy a better software, that works?

  • WINDOWS LIVE MOVIE MAKER KEEPS GLITCHING

    Hello:

I made a few videos with Windows Live Movie Maker. I have not had any problems, makes them, actually, it went very well. However, after the publication of the video and play it back, it ALWAYS glitches, starts 'paste' and sometimes stops working altogether, then resumes playback of the video. This problem occurs especially when I play the video in full screen. Sometimes, even when I play on the small screen. Can I do to stop this glitching? Would it be my OS, my computer, or if I need to download a new version of Live Movie Maker? I've had my computer for a while (2008). Could it be the problem?

Would appreciate any help you can provide.

    Thank you

    R. best

Probably depends on the format, playback or recording...

However, Windows vista supports windows media encoder 9 series. Try

Download of the microsoft encoder encoder, select this option to convert «»

audio/video", select the file, the encoder run auto...

See Add coder/ons, a number also exist. Vista is the latest OS to support

the Encoder 9 series, this is a great software for windows...

  • Windows Live Movie Maker: What happened to the function "Capture Video Device" from the good old Windows Movie Maker?

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit) and Windows Live Movie Maker 14.0.8091.0730. Good old Windows Movie Maker that came on Windows XP, I could add video capturing directly from the video device (my webcam). In this new version of Movie Maker extra in Windows 7, I can't.

How can I add this feature in this new version? Why it was deleted?

    Hi romzap,

The feature you found in Windows XP Movie maker to add video to your video device, such as webcam, who called such as Capture video device has been replaced by the name Windows Live Video acquire Wizard. • Audio editing in windows live movie maker-Can I just cut a part and not the whole video?

If I use the 'video' volume and mute of the video, it does for the whole video. I get all the music, or all the original audio or I get the same balance for the entire project.  Using the old Movie Maker, I would just right click and choose mute to the part of the video where I wanted just background music.

I follow the link posted before and posted my question again, but received no response. BUT I understand a solution.  Windows Movie Maker 2.6 works on Windows 7! So I'll use it until 'Live' in Windows Movie Maker is fixed.

  • My windows live Movie Maker has an ER code 0 x 80004005, cannot display viedo of camer after down load, that its there just will not be open for the show.

After down loading the camera viedo, it will not be open for show, but it's there, ER (0x80004005) it says Director windows live how I do to reboot?

Have a look at the last 3 letters of the video you've imported to Windows Live Movie maker (WLMM).
That the last 3 letters represent the format of the video file. If the format is NOT supported by WLMM, he won't play it.

Here are the formats supported by WLMM:
Video files: .asf, .avi, .dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

If your video file format is not on the list above, google for a FREE video converter and it allows to convert your video file.
The best format to convert is WMV. The most reliable and foo-proof format.

    =============================================
The dialog box that you quoted says "Project file" in Windows Live Movie Maker
It would be a file with an extension WLMP. Or if the file was created with
an earlier version of Movie Maker, it can have an extension .mswmm.

So... just to clarify... MP4 extension or WLMP or something else?

If the files are MP4, you will need to convert them to WMV format before
    import into Movie Maker.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup250.zip
(FWIW... installation..., you might want to
Uncheck all of the boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

For information on playback of MP4 files... the following article may be worth a visit:

point before installing any software or updates.

    ===============================
Sorry... I don't have the exact answer, but I know
some questions that may contribute to this problem...

    (1) using the incompatible sources in the project files.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

    (2) the project is too large and/or complex.

The fix for this would be to create several small
projects and save each of them in the movie WMV
format in a folder on your hard drive.

The collected WMV files can then be re-imported
in Movie Maker to bring together in a single
film or they can be imported into DVD Maker
and each comes a scene on a DVD.

    (3) codec issues.

Sometimes, this can be corrected by opening film
Manufacturer and go to the... Tools / Options / Compatibility
tab, and uncheck all filters / OK.

    (4) video driver needs to update.

If you reduce the graphic hardware acceleration as
According to the instructions in the following article... you can
See an improvement. If... Yes, you need to update
your video driver. (improvement or not... do not forget to)
return to full acceleration after the experience)

How to put in back of graphics hardware acceleration

Also, some systems cannot handle Vista Movie
Machine 6 or Windows Live Movie Maker... among those
instances... There's an earlier version which can be

  • When I try to open Windows Live Movie Maker, he said computer cannot run this application.

    Windows Live Movie Maker

I was finally able to install the Windows Live Movie Maker. (I used the older version that came with the computer when you purchase 2 years ago) He rejected me several times. After I updated everything that was necessary to meet the requirements. Finally he installed successfully and I have restarted the computer by following the instructions. Now when I try to open it, it says computer cannot open it. I've rechecked all the requirements, memory card, have Vista SP2, DDI, ect... then why doesn't it opens. I'm not a person real computer savey, so I hope I'm not over my head.

  • Difference between Windows movie maker vs Windows live movie maker and Windows photo gallery live vs Windows Photo Gallery

Title: Windows original Photo Gallery and Windows Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker and windows photo gallery. picture of Windows live and Windows Live Movie Maker. What is the difference between these programs and who is better and easier to work with?

The answer is all one could expect from a "Microsoft Support Engineer". "." It is not an answer, it is a lazy response that obscures the issue. Who the * wants to sit here by clicking on the reference links? Try to take the time to answer the question correctly and clearly. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker, despite its flaws, is logical and easy to learn. Windows Live Movie Maker is the product of developers geeks trying to justify their work by producing a piece of absurd confusion that would be considered to be an 'upgrade' because it seems different from its predecessor. The fact is that Windows Movie Maker is MORE like film professional software publisher of Live Movie Maker, which is just no unwanted standard which is more like a project of diploma a graduate programmer. Movie Maker design allowed me to make the easy transition to the most advanced professional software, but this can never be achieved with the Windows Live Movie Maker, which is ridiculously long as stupid as his name.
