Windows Live Photo Gallery encountered an error and cannot start.
Error code: 0 x 80070043
Rebuild the index base does not help. The Fixit (which only allows to rebuild the index) does not help.
Any thoughts?

Uninstall a program process has a patch program option, try it.
If that fails, uninstall go to the Download Center,
http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-Essentials?OS=other
Drop your firewall if you are using windows firewall, private and public networks, if you have AVG anti-virus uninstall as well, otherwise download it again and see if it works.

Original title: error starting in WL photo library
Hello guys,.
I use the photo gallery of WL (latest version) for some time, but one day it stopped working without remembering any important changes that might break a.
When I try to run it, it gives this error:
---------------------------
Windows Live Photo Gallery
---------------------------
Windows Live Photo Gallery encountered an error and cannot start.Error code: 0 x 80070035
---------------------------
Ok
---------------------------I tried to reinstall it but without success. I've also renamed the files Pictures.pdX C:\Users\
\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Photo Gallery, but with the same result. Not to mention that the event log does not contain messages recorded on this subject and also the follow-up of the process with Process Monitor did not show anything that would tell me the cause of this problem...
If someone from the Live team or an MVP watch that I can send you the output monitor process or any other information that you might find useful.
Any other suggestions on what I can try next?
Thank you!
Chris
I'm waiting for the confirmation of the guys from the Live team on this, but I've corrected this problem.
The error came from the fact that Windows registry stalled Chronogram of some access roads network I had on my computer from a former WHS (Windows Home Server) box so basically, Windows Explorer - WL photo library was still trying reach these network paths, even if in Explorer / settings there is no references to WHS, so registry entries in neutral paths and wrong...
Replace the data of those key in the Windows registry under the HKEY CURRENT USER corrected this problem and I was able to start WL photo library.

One day I can use Windows Live Photo Gallery and the next day I get the above error. I was able to settle this problem once, but I don't remember how or what I did to make it work. He worked for a while then no longer works. Very frustrating because no matter where I look for help online, Microsoft site does not have the permanent solution. I'm running Windows Vita and want to upgrade to Windows 7, but it is not a free upgrade. I reinstalled Windows Live Essentials, I don't know how many times to try to resolve the problem but do not claim.
Help, please. Thank you

Windows Live Photo Gallery causes the error Code: 0 x 80010108
I have a desktop XPS 8500 running Windows 7. Love it except for one thing: Windows Live Photo Gallery causes the error Code: 0 x 80010108. Yes, I x it down and go ahead and use my computer but like it to stop. I have google code and there are a number of fixes called there for him - even though they claim. But I was reluctant to download anything on sites I don't necessarily trust OR conform to change my registry to fix it. Can someone recommend a cure to my problem? I have confidence in this forum for more than 12 years and feel that you will not recommend something that might get me in trouble.
Thank you
Bessie
Hi Bessie,
Thanks for the reply. I suggest you to uninstall Windows Live Essentials from the computer and update to the latest version. You can download it from the link http://bit.ly/GQ9tPI . Please disconnect all the external devices connected to the computer (printers, external hard drives, flash drives) and do not have any CD/DVD in the drive while following the steps.
Answer please if you have any questions.

Windows Live Photo Gallery 'Read only' error.
After the Windows Live Essentials 2011 Installation, I lost all capacity for photo editing.
If I try to edit a photo that is on my PC in my pictures folder. New 2011 Photo Gallery indicates that the file is a "read only file and Windows Live Photo Gallery can not changing."
Note: The files are not read-only files. They are pictures that I had for years. Windows Vista & Windows 7 (Previous Versions of photo gallery had no problem to change.
In conclusion, Windows Live
Photo Gallery can't edit new or old photos.
I tried to uninstall Windows Live & put it back in place. But without success.
Is it possible for me to go back to previous versions of Windows Live Photo Gallery?

Photo Gallery Windows and Windows Live Photo Gallery will not open
Windows Photo Gallery does not open. This happened after trying to import images. Photo Gallery does not recognize the old photos so it would import duplicates, so I kept cancelling the process. Now it does not open. The blue circle goes as it will open up and then nothing happens. I downloaded Windows Live Photo Gallery, and it opens either. I have Windows Vista Home Premium version 6. On rare occasions, the gallery will open. What can I do? I read in this forum to rename the file, but it does not work. I did a system restore and that doesn't work anymore. Someone knows what can be done?

Error 0 x 80070057 opening of Windows Live Photo Gallery
Trying to open the Windows Live Photo Gallery, I get error code 0 x 80070057. I removed and re installed the program several times but still does not work. But it does not work on my other laptop. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit on all laptops.
FWIW... Windows Live Photo Gallery has a database file
which may be damaged. (uninstalling / reinstalling WLPG)
does not affect this file)If you rename the file... it will force the photo gallery to create a
new database file the next time, it is launched and the Gallery
will be as it was the first time it was launched.I'm not positive that this will solve the problem you are dealing with
But if you want to give it a try thefilename is... Pictures.PD6.Just rename it to OLDPictures.pd6. This can cause you to
lose tags and metadata that are not rewritten on
the photo files. The path to the file is:
Windows\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
Windows Live Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd6Pictures.PD6 is a file... the following article explains
How to show hidden files:Windows 7 - show hidden files
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/show-hidden-filesIf this does not improve the problem... you can delete the
new file Pictures.pd6 and rename OLDPictures.p6 back to
Pictures.PD6 and the gallery should be as it was before. -
Original title: Windows Live Photo Gallery problem
I used to have Windows Live Photo Gallery on this computer and it was working fine. For some reason, he took off. I tried to download again and get a message that says I have to sign as an administrator for the download to work. When I check my user account, it is said that I AM the administrator.
What should do? Thank you
Try to create a new administrator account and see if you can install the program. If you can, your profile is corrupt.
