Windows Mail delay and restart

My neighbours PC.

Open a new message and start typing.

After a few seconds the screen fades, seconds and Mail will open again on the screen:-

"Windows Mail does not shut down properly".

All other functions work OK this happens only when you try to send a new message. If the message is seized and sent very quickly is wrong as usual.

Aside from the e-mail program I configure them with this, their first PC, two years ago. (We are whole 70)

Not wanting to cause self-inflicted problems I changed the BT/Yahoo default email program (which I use) and everything works fine.

Yes, problem solved... in a way... Thank you.

original title: Windows Mail lost all subfolders

All of my Windows Mail subfolders and the emails contained in disappeared mysteriously.  I closed Windows Mail with all folders and opening Windows Mail again the next day, only the default folders (Inbox, sent, etc.) were present.

I created a new folder named "Test" that I can see has been saved in "C:\Users\San\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders" as well as other folders by default, but I can find no trace of my 20 folders + that I had previously.

    Help!

Nobody knows what could have happened and if they might be elsewhere on the HARD drive?  I have run several searches looking for folder names, but so far have developed in white.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Since download IE9 has changed the font on my message preview, on Windows Mail panel, and the symbol of the attachment is not there.  How can I change this back?

Just go in the Panel. Programs and features and then click on the left of "view installed updates" and find Windows Internet Explorer 9, and then you can uninstall it.  You should know that it is installed automatically via Windows Update, so you'll need to keep it to be reinstalled.  I think you can go Windows Update manually, and then it will ask you, then you can't deny it there and it should stick.

  • Vista - Windows Mail. copy and save messages

I'm looking for backup my windows mail emails. I look in the C:\users\(user-name limes) \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local files etc. but do not see the directories where the actual messages are stored only the Inbox, box send, sent, Deleted, drafts, and junk. Where are the directories for the actual messages. * E-mail address is removed from the privacy *

Needless to say that the export and import functions do not work. They do not export on a disk or zip drive (who wants to export to the same drive that may crash!), but even when I do this last import cannot find the exported files.

Since this is about the most important function in modern business that is emailing why there not a simple way to backup emails.

    Excerpt:

NOTE: Your messages were exported to the location selected in step 1 and 6 above. You can save this file exported in something such as an DVD or USB key for save or use to transfer to another computer. If you cannot copy the file exported for any reason, then place the folder exported in a ZIP file first and try again.

  • Windows Mail - delayed send option

Some messaging utilities allow deferred e-mail sending, for example to send a reminder to someone (in this case myself) at a later date. Is this possible in Windows Mail?

You can go to file | Send later, and then the message will be put into the Outbox but are not sent immediately.  Rather during the next synchronization it will send, I think (I never use this feature).  Or you can go to file | Work offline (which functionally disconnected from Internet), then you can send it later by going online.  But there is no way of dictating to send the message at a certain time (unless you have a set of scheduled task and other conditions).

You can use a scheduled task to run a program (such as a game), and then that reminds you maybe.

  • Where are the files of Windows Mail messages and contacts stored in Windows 7?

I backed up a Windows 7 system and restored to factory State by doing a restore of the system because the system has been seriously infected by viruses.  I couldn't do the export before the system recovery.

Now, given the Windows 7 system restore brand new I am trying to restore Windows Mail account.  In fact, I can't tell if it was a front window Mail or Windows Live Mail.  I don't know if the locations of the files for messages and contacts of these two letters are different.

When I go to c:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\, I don't see Windows Live Mail but Windows Mail.  So does that mean it was a Windows Mail system not a before Windows Live Mail System.  I copied the files saved in Windows Mail system on the same path directory in the newly recovered system, but it doesn't seem to make a difference when I open Windows Live Mail, which is the only e-mail program on the newly recovered Windows 7 system.

Can someone confirm the locations of the files to messages and contacts, Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail in the operating system Windows 7 home.  Can I just copy the files on?  With Outlook 2007 and 2010, she usually works if I simply copy the files or import from the saved file.  Also should which file names be so that I can easily identify them?  Are the mail accounts and password setup to re - enter as Outlook 2007/2010 or are stored in the files I can simply copy to the new system?

An application cannot bring down the operating system. You have

    something serious.

A bad driver, or a defective hardware like RAM can cause a blue screen. I ran

Win 7 upon its release, until what I moved to Win 8. The only blue screen I

  • When you pass "Windows Explorer" stopping and restarting. Only happening since I installed 9 Microsoft Updates, the update of Windows 8 December 2009. (Vista Ultimate SP2)

Each week, I (manually) install the recommended update of Windows updates. I'm under IE8 too. Also running Microsift Security Essentials.
Since the installation of updated 9 dec, (KB974318, 905866, 890830, 976416, 973917, 970430, 976325, 976884, 971737) 8, about 3 - 5 times a day, I click to open a folder, or click a link - I get a window saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working".  He says while it collects information, and then restart Windows Explorer.
It happened this morning, as soon as I clicked on "Windows Update" icon of the button 'start '. It also occurs when the single click to open a folder on my desktop or inside another folder.

I've also observed sometimes when you try to delete an important file (for example 300 MB) the deletion starts but seems to hang and ends not - even after 10 minutes or more.

Before installing the latest batch of updates I have not seen these problems within 9 months I've been running this machine.
    Any ideas?

I run McAfee anti virus and it is up-to-date.  I also ran SpyBot and PC Tools 36 hours - clean.
Last night I ran as Microsoft on line scanners - no found major problems, some problems of minor registry, which I corrected.
Windows Explorer problem occurred twice since the scan.

Someone knows a problem associated to the last batch of updates?
    Thank you.
    Colin

I just spent a few hours of operation, McAfee, Spybot, PCTools Spyware Doctor Lavasoft Ad-Aware, removal tool Microsoft malicious software, Microsoft defender, PC Tools Registry mechanic. All work in a deep analysis, if appropriate and all give zero infections/problems.

You can run the scan utility from now until the cows is home and still not detect & remove all this hijackware, Colin. See...

Help: I got hacked. Now what should I do?
         http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc700813.aspx

Now see step #3 ("now run a thorough check for hijackware, including display asked newspapers...) in my previous answer.

TIP: Running Registry Mechanic may have made matters worse! If you ever think your registry database must be cleaned, repaired, amplified, to the point, or optimized (it isn't), read http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions.

  • Slow charge of Windows 8 Apps and restarts after a few minutes

I would ask on the loading times on some applications of windows 8. I just bought a new Sony laptop with windows 8, I was waiting for it about a year ago.  Some applications, like mail, Skype, store, skydrive, takes a long time to load, sometimes it shows just 'points of return' or the 'great application icon"in the middle of the screen.  A few times, it took 1 minute to start.  Is this in relation to internet bandwidth?  No matter if it is just started windows or aired for some time, it's always like that.
Another thing is that these same apps, almost every 5 to 15 minutes to restart.  A few times he just get "refreshed", sometimes it take a minute to load again.
As you can imagine at this point, I'm not a person is fluent in English, so please excuse me.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

Did you check the screen resolution?

If your PC does not respond well or do things as fast as you think it should, you can try some of the tools provided with Windows to improve performance.

Try the steps from the following link and check:
