Windows Mail on two computers

I have read the recent posts on this topic and have a slightly different problem. Same e-mail account set up on 2 laptops, each one running Vista. When we travel, we take the laptop for my wife. When I opened my e-mail on his computer, I receive emails dating back several months. When I get home and fire to the top of my laptop, I don't see those that I open on his computer.

What I would like is to see only those less than a few weeks old on his computer, then be able to see them all on my own later. Possible?

What would my settings in advanced under Tools/accounts/mail/properties? Thank you

I don't know if you want to do on its behalf or not, but if yours is the only one in question:

On both machines for your account:

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - Check: leave a copy of messages on the server.

On a single computer only, (your home PC I guess), tick to remove messages after X days to satisfy your allotted space you get from your server.

X make long enough to cover your time together away from home and a few extra days to CYA. From what you say above, 14 days should do it.

Problem: Does not receive all my emails

    Caution:

I use Windows Live mail on my laptop and recently got a new computer I put Windows Live Mail on.  On my old laptop, I get all my emails. On the new desktop, I get only a few emails.  Is it possible to have a fully functional Windows Live Mail on two computers that use only one email address?  Sense, get the same exact amount of emails on a single computer.

I guess my perceived problem is because when my phone syncs with comcast account it downloads all messages and deletes them from the server.  There for when my desktop synchronizes he sees little or no emails.  Please confirm?

Y at - it an option to fix this or do I just disable the program on one of my computers?

On EACH computer, follow these steps...
Open Windows Live Mail > tools > accounts > your account > properties > advanced > under delivery, put a check mark on "leave a copy of messages on the server" > OK

Note: make sure you do the same on both computers.

  • How can I set up separate e-mail folders in Windows Mail to two companies each with its own email address and the password?

We use Verizon as our ISP.  I was getting our email to two different companies by connecting to Verizon in with another user name and password for each company.  However, we have received messages in our email that we were almost our quota and customer emails we would not come through and have been having rebounded.  I spoke with Verizon and learned to use a 3rd party to channel messages and thus free up space from the server.  They helped me to set up the email to go in Windows Mail, but now all the email for both companies will in the same e-mail account.  How can we separate the email for both companies so that each company can log on to Windows Mail with their own separate IDs and passwords?

  • Install windows 8 on two computers?

I saw a question where someone asked how many computers they are allowed to install Windows 8 on. The answer said two at a time. I have windows 8 on a virtual machine on my Mac, but just bought a PC. Am I allowed to uninstall windows 8 of my VM Mac installation on my pc?

It is 1 license, 1 computer. A virtual machine, is also considered to be a separate computer. As long as you delete the virtual machine, you can always use licence elsewhere. You may need to reactivate over the telephone if it has already been activated on the VM:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Using Windows 7 on two computers

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I have a Windows 7 pro on my desktop and I just recently got a laptop for my school work. Unfortunately, the laptop has Windows Vista on it and everyone knows how to slow down and it's terrible. I still have the Windows 7 installation disc and I was wondering if I can use for my laptop. What concerns me is who will be the conflict between them product key?

No, the only key is valid for one PC only

(Even if you have both 32 bit & 64 bit installation media)

Personally, I ran Vista on several PCs for a number of years and had no problem.

Assuming that Vista was preinstalled by the manufacturer of the laptop make sure you get system updated driver from the manufacturer of the laptop and not through windows update ONLY updates recommended

  • Content of mail to sync between two computers

Is it possible to synchronize the content of mail between two computers [iPhone, if possible]? Computers currently send and receive the same two e-mail accounts [not an account of @iCloud.com]. But if I receive an email, reply or remove it on a single computer, it is always also a new email unread on the other. It's a possibility, perhaps with a disc of individual cloud?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Only IMAP e-mail accounts sync on devices. That's how to operate these services - nothing else is required to achieve this.

If your email is responsible for no synchronization across all computers and devices, you must have type accounts pop connect you to these accounts via a web browser and look at your options and account services. POP is such an old system these days there is almost nobody left that enemies do not switch to IMAP.

If all this is confusing, call your email providers and ask them to make the change on their end, then ask the information you will need to enter on your computers and your iDevices.

  • How can I transfer? two computers running windows 7 and she wants to give me one of them, but it first wants to transfer or share all his stuff from one to the other.

my mother has two computers that are running windows 7 and she wants to give me one of them, but it first wants to transfer or share all his stuff from one to the other. We network cables and such can I connect the on computers and share information from one to the other?

    Hello

To connect two computers with a cable, not a router, it must be a crossover cable.
These are special cables, but they are not expensive.

(You can configure a network or a host group (see below))

Connect two computers using a crossover cable (XP - Windows 7 may be the same)

  • Windows Mail can receive but not send up to exit application

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read what I am in need of your help.

I have a Toshiba P200, Vista Home Premium, Tiscali as my ISP, Norton Internet Security for AV and firewall and access my broadband via Ethernet to a Belkin ADSL router (and occasionally a Siemens router) and I am experiencing some strange events with Windows Mail.

In short I can receive mail without any problems, but when I send the mail, remaining in the Outbox despite the option send immediately being checked, or by pressing the send/receive button. When I go out Windows Mail mail is sent immediately and is when I restart Windows Mail in the sent messages folder.

So why I think there is a problem with the laptop. Well, I'm lucky to have a friend who has a non-Toshiba laptop, where all of the above can be replicated. Guess what, Windows Mail sends the message exactly as it should (on my account and on my network, through my router and the ISP, Tiscali etc.), so I conclude that the only difference is that my laptop is a P200.

I called Tiscali, which confirmed that all my mail settings were OK, POP, SMTP etc, which I expect (because they work on the laptop from my friend), and they advised to contact Microsoft, I did, and since the P200 has pre-installed Vista they say that I need to contact Toshiba, and here I am.
My P200 has been restored to factory settings, and I tried to get this working without Norton IS and no firewall (Vista and router) but no luck.

Any ideas would be very appreciated and if I find through other means, I'll post back with the result. If the answer is already out there, please apologize for being too stupid to locate and beg your patience.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It is typical for support persons. All of them are trying to refer clients and through them. In my opinion Microsoft s reaction is strange to me. They designed the operating system and they should be responsible for the feature.

I have the Satellite A200 and Satellite P200D and I use Windows Mail on two of them successfully. My laptop is connected to the WIFI router and router directly to the phone line. To be honest, I have configured Windows Mail as you and all of the work are made in a few minutes.

It is not easy to tell where the problem may be, but I think that there is a problem with some settings of your laptop. Some of them block it somehow. To compare your, with friends laptop is also not the best because it can have completely different OS settings (antivir application, the settings of the firewall).

Try turning off all the features that can block Windows hotmail to see if there is some difference.

  • Windows Mail cannot open attachments

I am running vista Home premium SP2 and using Windows mail. Two days ago I can't display all the attachments of my emails. If I double click to open them - there is no answer. If I try to save, I get "cannot run command '. I can see if I send to another address and you use a webmail on the same computer account. I checked the internet options to ensure that the ability to upload files is correct. I changed the start in: option empty, then '%UserProfile% Local SettingsTemp '.

Just in case someone else has had this problem. I solved it by doing a system restore

Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore

and return to a point where my computer was still running.

  • Windows Mail import a PST to outlook

I use Vista and windows mail at home, how to import my outlook pst file at the office in my mail from windows to the House?

Transfer of data from Outlook to Windows Mail requires two programs must be installed and configured on the computer used to make the transfer.  Two choices:

    1. install Outlook on your Vista PC.  Place your existing. PST in a folder where it will NOT OVERWRITE the. PST file created with the Outlook installation. Make sure that the. PST is NOT set to read only.  Open Outlook, go in "file |" Open | Outlook data file "and navigate to the." PPTM open the file. You will now have access to all your old email, contacts, calendars, tasks, etc. ; then, you can import mail and he addresses with the functionality of Windows Mail import. You can do all this with the Office 2007 trial version, you can uninstall after the transfer.

2 find an XP PC, which has both Outlook and Outlook Express is installed, attach your. PST file to Outlook on this machine and export all in Outlook to Outlook Express.  Make copies of your Outlook Express. (Including Folders.dbx) DBX files and your. WAB file and place them in a folder on your Vista PC.  Use these instructions to import your email from OE to WM:

    http://www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#oe2wm

To import contacts from the. WAB file, double click it and follow the prompts of the Import Wizard.
