  I show 894 messages in my deleted items folder.  When I click on this folder I don't see any messages.  When I right click to empty deleted folder, I get an error message - some items in the folder "Deleted items" may not be deleted - an error has occurred.

  What I see - when I go in the folder items that are removed in the lower left corner, it says "0 0 messages reading".  If the folder is empty, but how can I get rid of the number in brackets - 894?

  We have provided my email address isn't in its list of blocked senders, which is IS in the safe senders list and its 'Also trust emails from my Windows contacts' button is enabled and active.

  Finally, we put the Windows Mail client to stop filtering of all.

  AGAIN... every email sent its ends up in his deleted file rather than his Inbox.

  Why?  And more importantly, how can I solve this?

  Check under Tools | Message rules and see if there is a rule that is to do.  The messages go to the junk e-mail folder or the deleted items folder?  All messages go to deleted items, or just those of your address?
   
  One thing you can try is to remove his e-mail account, close WinMail, run my Windows Mail utility to compact and repair the database, and then reopen WinMail and add his account back once again.  But the rules are defined in the registry, that might not help.

  This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.
   
  To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Exit Windows Media Player.
  2. For Windows XP:

     Click Start, click run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

     For Windows Vista:

     Click Start, click run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

  3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

     Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

  4. Restart Windows Media Player.

     Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Exit Windows Media Player.

  Try to compact and repair the database and see if that fixes the problem (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  If not, then look for antivirus or other 3rd party program interference (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 of many antivirus programs are not compatible with WinMail).  But suffice it to compact and repair the database could solve the problem.

  My OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) has a function that will remove attachments (and save them if you want) messages with a click of a single button that is much faster than to try to do it manually.  It has a number of other features as well.  It also works well on XP in Vista (32 bit only) for Windows Mail and OE.

  I recently changed my email from hotmail.com to outlook.com.  I do the change now to go all outlook as an address... I updated my login details to go with outlook.com by logging in on - going to a local account and then adding the outlook.com account.

  I have problems with the mail app however, I would like to get rid of the hotmail but it is said that it is a main account and I would need to go into account settings.

  Question: How can I get rid of the old address of hotmail still listed in the mail application, and add the new address to outlook... I can send from outlook (by alias) and he picks up the mail but it still lists hotmail.

  I understand that you have parameters to change the name of the alias as instead of Hotmail.com Outlook.com in the messaging application.

  You can try this: turn off your internet access by selecting airplane mode - on. Return to the e-mail application and Outbox, upper-right corner must now be a remove hand icon, select it.

  Turn on your internet access by setting off airplane mode. I hope it works for you!
