Sometimes, Windows Media Center would not be able to download Guide data. In general, this happens for the following reasons:

(a) your computer is not connected to the Internet or there is a problem with your Internet settings.

(b) If your computer connects to the Internet by using a dial-up connection, make sure that the connection is properly configured. For more information about setting up a dial-up connection for use in Windows Media Center, see solving problems with an Internet connection.

(c) the Guide Server is not available or is temporarily out of service. If the Guide Setup was already complete, Windows Media Center will try to download it again daily.

(d) the Guide service provider didn't Guide your location information.

  • My Windows Media Center Download the latest TV programming guide

With the help of Win 7 Home Prem SP1 64-bit.

Suddenly, Windows Media Center Download the latest TV programming guide.  It worked fine, then all of a sudden it stopped.  WMC wonder if I want to download the latest Guide Listing.  I click on the download option, then he said: 'Guide lists have been downloaded successfully. Yet, when I go into my program Guide for all the different TV channels (everywhere in the air, no cable or satellite) it says "No data available" in other words not it offers for download, guide, said that he never actually makes the fact.

I don't know how or why this happened. I tried to download the application manually Guide by going to tasks-> settings-> TV etc and it does the same thing. It says "Guide Listings were downloaded successfully" but nothing.

    How to fix?

PS my TV tuner and everything works fine. My internet connection is perfect. Am really confused.

Re-run the installation of the TV, try a different zip code and then switch back to your own if this does not work

Original title: lost the TV Program Guide in Windows Media Center (clock on PC can not also follow GMT... dunno if they are connected)

Have lost the TV Program Guide in Windows Media Center (clock on PC can not also follow GMT... dunno if they are connected). Have messed around with all the settings, but can't seem to recover these items.

    Hi Liljools,

    1. When did you start to question?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?

    3. When was the last time that the clock was followed by time?

    4. have you tried to change the settings of the clock to GMT?

    Step 1:

Try to configure the guide once more and check if it helps. The configuration guide, follow these steps:

    a. on the start screen, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then click Set Up Guide listings.

    b. follow the instructions on the screen to configure the list of Guide for your region.

    c. If you are prompted to select a provider of TV services, and you do not know which one to select, control a recent draft Bill or statement from your TV service provider to find the appropriate information.

    d. the providers listed in Windows Media Center vary according to the Postal Code or ZIP. If the supplier subscribe is not listed for the ZIP or the Postal Code entered, try entering local codes find the appropriate Guide listings.

    Step 2:

You can also manually download the latest Guide information and check.

    a. on the screen start, navigate to tasks, click settings, click TV, click Guide, and then get latest Guide listings.

    (b) when you are prompted, select Yes to start to download Guide listings. You are notified when the update of the Guide is complete. You can continue to use Windows Media Center and the Guide while new Guide information is being downloaded.

If the problem persists, you can try to configure the TV signal in Media center and check if it works very well.

TO RUN NETFLIX ON THIS COMPUTER, BUT CAN'T WITHOUT WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER, NOT TRUE?

CAN I RUN NETFLIX WITHOUT WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER? I HAVE THIS HUGE FLAT SCREEN THAT COMES WITH THAT OLD PIECE OF JUNK, SO I COULD WATCH MOVIES, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I NEED MEDIA CENTER?

!!!!! URGENT! ***************HELP!!!!! ******************URGENT!!!!!!!!!!! Help! ******************URGENT***********************************!!!!!!!

First of all, there is not - and has never been - anywhere to download a legal copy of any version of Windows XP...

Second, Windows XP Media Center Edition was available as a pre-installed OEM operating system (for example, Dell, HP, Gateway, etc.).  If you wanted a computer with MCE, you should have bought one with MCE.  In the unlikely case where your second-hand computer comes from an OEM and it came originally with MCE (look at the sticker on the box), it is possible, at a distance, the same manufacturer can provide the installation media necessary for a price.

If the video card in the computer is able to drive the "big flat screen", then you have nothing else (assuming that the computer meets other material).  See http://www.ehow.com/info_8204776_needed-netflix-streaming-work.html and http://www.ehow.com/how_7561774_stream-netflix.html

  • Where to go to set the channel missing from the Windows Media Center Program Guide

    Hi people,

Hoping that someone like Barb Bowman (or a person with any with any part of the Windows Media Center team still it exists) can help me with this.  I'm missing a channel in my programming.  His 668 (Discovery HD) channel, and my program guide is for Seattle, Comcast King County South (digital). I spoke with Comcast, with Ceton Corp (manufacturing of my digital cable tuner card) and with Zap2it (info guide provider program for WMC).  All of them confirm what a) 668 is in my registration, b) 668 is tunable my card, and c) 668 announces are included in the current program guide data from Zap2it.  My data to guide program is also completely updated according to WMC. Zap2it has suggested that I use this site to submit the question to Microsoft:

Will there be a new favorite way to indicate this type of problem?  Please help me to connect with the right resources at Microsoft to resolve this issue.

  • Windows media center program guide?

yesterday, I had to reinstall windows vista from the ground upward. I went to set up my tv and tv tuner/cable program guide in order to record and watch TV on my computer. Everything went through everything as before until I opened the guide to record programs at future dates. I noticed that the program guide was off of 3 hours. Example: the news on showed 23:00 to 20:00 on the guide and so on. I reinstalled, changed the area and zip codes to see if it worked, and nothing has changed. I disabled the box of cable/reset of the top box/internet connection / computer also. I am up to date on all windows downloads that are needed. I just do not know where to go from here. If anyone has had this problem and if yes, how do solve you this problem? Thanks in advance for any help of suggestions that I have not already tried is grateful.

    Hi nancyturnbaugh,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forums.

What is the time showing correctly on the PC?

If it is adjusted to the correct time zone?

Have you checked the time in the BIOS?

I have the feeling, the time zone is not set correctly (example: the list demonstrate PST time even if you follow IS). However try to save these files and restart the computer and check the media library.

    1 close Media Center
2 click on the start menu, choose run and type cmd
    3 run the command regsvr32.exe atl.dll
    4 run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /unregServer
    5. run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched
    6 run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer
    7. run the command/service C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr
    8 run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer
    9. run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe/regserver
    10. run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer
    11. run the command C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe/regserver
    12 restart Media Center

Have you tried to contact the cable company?

Other users have had the same problem and it was fixed by the cable company. I suggest that you try to contact first, and make sure that everything is correct on their end.

    I hope this helps.

my media center of windows have only a few strings that have a TV update guide. Some chains used to have a tv guide now don't. I've updated my guide and I still get the same result

have you seen the work around posted here by another user?

"You are in my area and have exactly the same problem as I do. Here's what I did to

Microsoft is no longer information from registrations for channels rebroadcast. It comes
Why local channels which collect you directly from the main issue of stations
updated very well the Tower while others that you get from an "antenna farm" did not
information is available. Here's what I've done: I'm in Minnesota, and all the
strings that I had a problem with the twin cities region, and I was
get a signal of re-broadcast of "antenna operating." I went into settings > TV >
Set up the TV Signal and used a zip code from the Twin Cities area. After all the
set up, I had a complete guide, but could not get the stations with my Tuner.
So back to the settings > TV > TV Signal > search for channels more. It found all my
    channels!

Now the problem here is that sources of channel will be slightly off. Settings >
TV > Guide > change channels. From there, you can select each channel, a
time and go to 'Edit the Sources' part and uncheck the #1 source. Also
Deselect all the various channels that you would otherwise be impossible to obtain.

  • Windows Media Center TV Guide ads

I'm in the United Kingdom. TV Guide lists seem to have stopped updating. My listings end tomorrow morning (1 January 2013). The company that generates the list of the UK said that updates have been transferred to Microsoft, and there should be 15 days available. My task set show that the update process runs correctly on my computer.

This, I guess that Microsoft has a problem and is currently not updated its lists.

Does anyone know if this can be solved?

  • Why has Windows Media Center Program Guide, an expiration date and is it possible to extend the updates of the information on the TV program?

When I watched the recorded TV programs, I realized that no programs have been registered since May 1, 2012.

When you open the program guide settings (settings:, TV: ProgramGuide) and watched part of the' Guide' he said start from 01/01/01, end date: 2012-05-01. So that explains why I get no updates.

But someone how to get the subscription suite program listings or another way to obtain lists of programs TV in Media Center?

  • Windows Media Center requires an activation code.

Hello all. I'm having issues activating digital cable on a windows machine 7.

This is the system in question:

    • Shuttle XPC
    • x 64 athlon dual core Ghz 2.24
    • 4 G of RAM
    • Windows 7 pro
    • ATI USB Open Cable Tuner with comcast mcard

So I ran the digital cable Advisor and it goes very well.

I put the mcard in tuner and plugged. All LED to the Greens and I have it plugged into the computer. The tuner installs and I check in via the interface, just fine.

I called Comcast and had them activate MasterCard. I waited a day and then tried to activate digital cable and he repeated to me that I need a key, it should be on the installation CD or something. In aprevious post, a person indicates that it must be equipped by the cable operator, but it is clearly a PID Ms. I'll try to call comcast again later, as I'm not at home now, but any input would be nice.

I'm actually confused do not know at this stage and really get a sense of the place where from here.
