    Hi RDougShelton,

Step 1: This problem occurs if the Windows Media Center update process (Mcupdate.exe) cannot access the Windows Media Center data store. You may experience this problem if the data store is corrupted. So, try to rebuild the Media Center data store. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. exit any running instance of Windows Media Center.
    b. remove the mediaCenterDataStore.db file. By default, this file is located in the following location:
    %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\mediaCenterDataStore.DB
    c. Click Start, run type, and then click Run.
    (d) in the Open box, type % systemdrive%\programdata\microsoft\ehome, and then click OK.
    e. in the details, click pane right mediacenterdatastore.db and then click on remove.
    f. click Yes to confirm that you want to move the Mediacenterdatastore.db file to the trash.
    g. launch Windows Media Center and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: Scanner of sfc (System File Checker) to find and difficulty of the missing or corrupt system files

  • Windows Media Center starts itself in Vista Home Premium

04/06/13 - I tried all of the suggestions posted in various forums, as well as some, and it's always the case. This has happened intermittently for about 3 months now. When I loaded Microsoft Security Essentials, it found a virus in the EHSHELL. EXE file. Otherwise, I made the following months:
    1. of course it wasn't in the start menu.
2 tried to delete the directory the Directory Windows EHOME. When he said that I had not [not true] Administrator privileges, I COMPRESSED the directory and moved to an external drive. I could delete it, but it came back, like an old monster movie! Have not been able to remove it, something said he was part of the operating system. How instructions make loads the operating system to tell it NOT to load?
    3. removed all references to the EHSHELL. EXE file in the registry.
4 disabled WMC in Services. There are 4 references, I can say.
    5. when it seemed to be the result of my touchpad disabled, too.
    6. of course, it was not loading in the Sys Config file.
NONE OF THIS HAS WORKED. He works now as I type this. Help!

  • Don't have a Media Center on my HP Vista Home Premium update.

I have a HP certified authentic running Vista Home Premium SP2.  It came with Media Center, which I barely used until recently, but now I really enjoy it.

I've heard of the Netflix tile added last year, but I don't see in my Media Center.  I finally got to see what it looks like at a store (it was on a Win7 machine) and now I can't wait to get this working on my computer.  Miss me him more than the Netflix tile... As well, Miss me Internet TV.  Could I have missed that any update?  I activated Windows Update and install updates regularly.  How can I tell what version of Media Center I am running?  Is anyway to uninstall/reinstall Media Center?

I have a topic "TV + movies", but under that, it's just "recorded tv", "DVD library" and "set up tv.  I don't have a TV tuner card.

    Thank you.

    Hi amal.

I'm in the USA.  My version of Media Center is 6.0.6002.18103 (vistasp2_gdr.090831 - 0117).

I downloaded the Media Center TV pack you mentioned, however, when I tried to install it, the installation program said, "the update does not apply to your system."

I searched the list of Windows updates installed on my system for the TV pack, but do not see it.  The most recent WMC cumulative update on my system was KB974306.  I uninstalled, rebooted, then tried to reinstall the TV pack, but got the same message "does not apply".

So I re-installed KB974306 (who alerted the automatic update of Windows Me was available after reboot), and read the next article you sent.  Someone suggested to do a 'Download Now' to in WMC.  I tried and then Netflix tile appeared, as well as sports and Internet TV.  My WMC version remained the same even after a reboot.

Since I now have the Netflix tile and it works, I really must the WMC version 6.1 +?   If I wait until the next auto WMC updated for Vista, I should be able to do things?

Thank you very much for your help!
    Jay

  • CREATIX card TV no longer works for Windows Media Center after you install Vista Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

I recently updated my computer Windows Vista Edition Medion Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. While my computer was running Vista, I could use the tuner TV SAA7131 Creatix card in my computer to watch digital TV British, that is to say Freeview. Before my upgrade to Windows 7, I checked all my drivers would be compatible, and the Advisory program told me that they would be sufficient. However, when I tried to setup of the library to receive a TV signal, the implementation will not progress beyond the screen "Considering television signals" Percentage of completion bar gets to about 90% and then does not move, or entirely 100%, but the screen does not change, and if I try to return to the main menu screen, Windows Media Center crashes with the 'circle of rotation of loading"and does not change.

I reinstalled Cyberlink Home Cinema after realization of the Medion TV improve extra that comes with it, but that didn't seem to help. The same problem persists.

I have still the disk with the drivers on, but I'm not sure how to reinstall the drivers using the disk, because the record for drivers TV Tuner does she not an executable file, just a series of system files, application extensions and the DAT files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You must find the CTX driver version in the code of your tv card provider (poster Device Manager it under hardware ID in the Details tab) in the list of suppliers PDF in the FAQ section of the site Creatix. Then, you can download the right CTX driver from the support section. Is there a Windows 7 driver for my SAA7131 card.

  • Why Windows seems to work very well, but Windows Media Center not?

    Hello

Today, I was with my Home Theater PC (HTPC) to record TV. Everything worked well. I wanted to watch a YouTube video when I was recording was completed. When I went on YouTube, there was no audio data.

I use a HDMI from the HTPC to connect to my Pioneer VSX-50. While watching the TV show, the VSX-50 would show he was getting audio to 5.1 channels as it should. When I go on YouTube, all the sound elements would not pass, no audio signal is sent to the VSX-50.

So I had a slight problem when it seems that Windows and Windows Media Center try to run the sound completely different from each other. And I went to my "manage Audio Devices" set up so that Windows would go the 5.1 audio channels (I think that until then he was established as stereo?). Once I did, I was able to get a YouTube sound very well. Then I went back to Windows Media Center. Media Center at the start, that's fine, but when I try to watch live TV or any recording, sound glitches (she repeats a second 1 loop repeatedly while video continues to play as if it's good), then he falls all together. After the sound glitch, my VSX-50 shows no audio signal is sent to the receiver, and I can't he come back! It really frustrates me!

    Any ideas?

  • Windows Media Center - not the initial download put in place data for guide "unable to connect to the remote server.

    Hello

Looking for help on this one...

I have a new install of windows 7 pro running, and I was not able to get the guide to download Windows Media Center.   I am up-to-date with all the updates and SP1 version running.   My video card drivers are also updated.

I use HDHOMERUN PRIME equipment with cablecard and who receives a TV signal very well and I am able to view it in WMC.    I use Verizon FIOS and my zip code is 07452.    Before this computer, I ran the cablecard even with a ceton infinitv and had no problem Guide at all.

It's just that I can't download the guide data.  Its just totally blank.   I receive the channels and view them, but there is NO data.      Whenever I run the TV setup the same question comes up.  Cannot download the initial configuration data due to the error of previous download.   As far as I know, there is NO error message when Windows installed... actually... I reinstalled windows completely and this has not solved the problem.    I tried to manually download the guide which did not help.   It... nothing happened when I turned 'on' and 'off' WMC in Control Panel to reinstall.  I even tried explore the ehome folder and remove the file db... but nothing is helping.

I can't find a file mcupdate.exe light on my system - don't know if this is relevant.   When I looked in the event viewer here are some of the error messages that I see.

Impossible to extract the EpgLineups (error: unable to connect to the remote server)
Impossible to extract the MCEClientUX (error: unable to connect to the remote server)

I'm starting to think it's a matter of windows.   Anyone have any ideas?

  • Not to say could not upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

I pre-ordered Windows 7 months with no indication that I couldn't switch from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional without performing a new installation.  Now I learn that I have to re - install all THE programs, once I have perform this upgrade / 'clean install '.  All the criticism of Windows Vista pales in comparison to my irritation at says this news AFTER the purchase, and not before.  Failure of the installation of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to note any problem.  All previous Windows upgrades went flawless.  Needless to say I am extremely disappointed by this turn events and we hope that Microsoft will improve its pre-purchase counseling in the future.

I guess I have no choice now but to do a clean install of Windows 7 and then reinstall on my computer that will put me out of use for a long period of time?  I backed up the entire hard drive before trying to install, but I doubt I can get by simply restoring this backup.  Is this correct?

    Hi pwcushman,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Answers.

Windows Live OneCare Backup works in stages. You start by setting up how you want Backup to run and save the configuration. The backup will then run according to schedule and backup your files according to the saved configuration. You can make changes to this list or add other files and folders.

You can restore all files and folders, but you will have to reinstall all the programs.

Check this link for more information:

  • Windows Media Center not opening

Every time I open Windows Media Center, it says windows checks for a solution for this problem.  Then it closes. Media Center does not open.

    Hello jodoloy,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I uninstall and then reinstall Windows Media Center, to see if that helps to clear all corruption.

Uninstall and reinstall the Windows Media Center:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling in Windows Media Center:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Center.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall the Windows Media Center:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of Windows Media Center.
    4 restart the computer.

Now you are able to open Media Center? If this isn't the case, then go to the event viewer and look for the application event log. See if there are errors for Media Center and then then list them here.

Please answer back with an update and let us know the result of your problem.

I have a nice collection of karaoke disc CD + G I want to be able to copy on my media center windows and being able to have my accessible karaoke music on my laptop.  I need to connect my laptop to my home entertainment center and have our usual karaoke fun nights with friends and family.  It told me that windows media center would be perfect for this because it can categorize my music and make it easy to locate our favorite songs and so on please help me to find the solution to my situation.  We do not want to download karaoke from the internet, we simply want to use what we have.

Given that technical issues are inappropriate in the forum comments responses, I moved your post to the windows ' Music and Sound: forum.»  Always include your version of Windows when you post.

Karaoke CD is not normal music CD, I think that you will need a program.  I don't think that Windows Media Center can read data from subtrack.  See this: http://experts.windows.com/frms/windows_entertainment_and_connected_home/f/25/t/11036.aspx
