Windows Media Player for professional windows 7 (download)

Windows Media Player, it is not downloaded to computer, which he was there before the arrival of fast Internet.

Anyway need support to download the good player, please help.

Jay,

If WMP is missing then it is, for most users, "reloaded" instead of the downloaded.

It is not available for download with the exception of these special Windows N or K or KN versions sold in Europe or the Korea that have been deliberately sold without the already installed WMP.  If you have one of these special versions, then you can see the one indicated in the Control Panel window, system - the top of the window will display the version under Windows 7 Pro N / K /KN rather than just Windows 7 Pro.

If you have a regional special versions KN/K/N, then use this link WMP for editions N-K-KN - download Media Feature Pack - Microsoft Download Center [this download does not work for the normal versions, i.e. those delivered with already included WMP].

If you have a normal version, then use this procedure to "recharge":

  1. Control Panel,
  2. Programs and features,
  3. [left] Turn on or off Windows features
  4. Characteristics of the media,
  5. the value of the Windows Media Player check box,
  6. Yes,
  7. Ok
  8. Restart the PC.

In all the foregoing, I have answered your description of the problem.  It could be the case that WMP has not disappeared, but for some reason your shortcut to it has disappeared.

You can make a new shortcut to him by doing a right click on the exe file & selecting create shortcut.  The exe file is to

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

or {on a 64-bit Windows computer}

"C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe.

My own shortened, made by Windows and never changed is

"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" /prefetch: 1

or {on my 64-bit Windows computer}

"C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows ' /prefetch: 1

It seems therefore appropriate to add these additional terms to the shortcut once you did.  Just right click on the shortcut, select Properties & add {leave a space before} /prefetch: 1 the end of the entry in the target area.

  • MEDIA PLAYER for .mp3 files and download and play .asx files old version of the weekly radio program

I quite often download or listen to a radio show which is broadcast live every Sunday morning and the program is available to download (mp3 file) or listen to (asx file) until the new program is broadcast a week later.  I have rarely listen to the program when it is broadcast live, but sometimes listen live on other programs of that station with no problems.

Last week I downloaded last week program and everything was ok.  Today, I downloaded program yesterday (February 24) and he started to play with an introduction to the program of the weeks previous (February 17).  I asked a friend to try on his computer and he managed to download the latest program with no problems.  So I've established that the radio station is not at fault, but there must be a problem with my Media Player.

So far, I updated Windows Media Center the default player for each type of file (with file association) and it did not work, I followed by assigning Windows Media Player and that had no effect either.  I deleted the files downloaded after every attempt to avoid the player pick up the old file.

Is the association of file replace Autorun settings?

I use Firefox as my browser but you have tried Google Chrome, and the result is the same, IE. last weeks program times.

I don't know what else to try so would appreciate your help.

You may have a problem with the hardware with the DVD drive...

  • Windows media player will not play my downloaded movies.

Original title: windows media player will not play my downloaded movies, so I know very lil on computers! Please help me!

I have LimeWire. I downloaded several movies and can't watch them. When I try, it automatically showed the windows media player, and then displays a message saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. "I looked for updates, perhaps thinking that I needed one, he says: there is no availiavle. I use the latest version of windows media player. any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's really a simple question, easy to fix. But if you are really not that familiar with the computer, you may want to ask a friend who knows enough to help you.

You can show it to your friend...
What you need is to 'google' for a FREE video converter.
Use the converter and changge movies in WMV file formats. (Sticking with the formats WMV, nothing else).
Once the conversion is complete, you can play these movies in your Media Player.

However, there is another alternative. Install a 3rd party media player called VLC. He plays any video fromats.

  • Windows Media Player will no longer play downloaded visualizations

Recently, I had a problem range from simple annoyance to frustrating. The visualizations that I bought two (IE GE Force Aeon of spectrum) and those downloaded from Micorsoft (Album Art 3D, bubbles) will not play. It was a gradual progression, first I would like to restart and the problem seems to be resolved. Then my X 86 would not work, but would be my Media Player for 64-bit. Now they don't work at all. However, I can still see them. DLL in the list and my Alchemy, Bars and waves and the batteries still work fine (coincidentally, those working in Windows Media Center, who has never played the downloaded content - at least not on Windows 7-64 bit). I am running Windows 7 Ulitmate, service pack 1(64bit) with a card ATI 5850 vid and a Phenom II x 4 965 processor.

    Hi michardav,

    ·         Are you able to play integrated visualizations?

    Is it true!

"Windows Media Player is not compatible with your system.

You are under Windows 7 64-bit. Although Windows Media Player does not work on your system, you can download Windows Media Player
    for other operating systems.

    What is the alternative, please?

    Hello

Windows Media Player (WMP) is included in all editions of Windows 7, except in its Windows 7 N/KN editions. If you have an edition of Windows 7 N/KN please see here:

    What is a Windows 7 N edition?

for the background and how to get WMP.

If you do not have an edition of Windows 7 N/KN then check that the Windows Media Player feature is turned on:

    1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.

    2. click on programs and features.

    3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

    4. look for the entry called multimedia features, expand it, and then check the box * next to Windows Media Player.

    5. click on OK.

    6. restart the PC.

    * If the Windows Media Player box is already checked, uncheck it, click OK, restart can do steps 1-6 above.

There is no download WMP for editions of Windows 7 that are not editions N/KN (because it is built in).
