Windows Media Player starts late

Hi all, I'm having a problem with Windows Media Player. When I start Windows Media Player, my computer starts just lagging out. As in everything which is open will show "Not responding" to the Summit. I figured out it just Windows Media player does. Like right now, I ask this question, Windows Media Player has been arrested. No lag whatsoever. Thank you.

Hello

a. you get a specific error message?

Let us try the following methods one by one and check if they help in the successful launch of Windows Media Player.

Method 1.
I would recommend you to rebuild the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem is resolved.

Here's how:
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
1. exit Windows Media Player.
2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
3. Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.
Note: You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Method 2.
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files.
To do this, follow these steps:
1. exit Windows Media Player.
2. click on start, run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.
3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.
4. restart Windows Media Player.

Method 3.
I also suggest you to re-record the files related to Windows Media Player.
To do this, follow the steps below:

a. Click Start, in the start search bar type cmd, right-click on the command prompt icon in the box programs and then click Run as administrator.

b. at the prompt type regsvr32 wmp.dll command and then press ENTER.
Type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then press enter
Type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then press enter

c. restart the computer and check if the problem is resolved.

You can also try to turn on or to turn off Media Player.

I hope this helps.

    Hi Paul,.

You don ' say what version of WMP you currently have, but I strongly recommend to install the latest version from the Microsoft web site. It is possible that your current version is corrupt somehow.

  • Windows Media Player starts to play the CD/DVD (in any tab) with AutoPlay disabled

On any tab, Windows Media Player 11 (WMP11) starts automatically play a CD/DVD when inserted.  Regardless it's 'Take no Action' set for each media or device on the AutoPlay control panel.  The OS is Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  The only modification or plug-in is Windows Live Messenger Music Plug-in that has been disabled.

Steps to reproduce (in the tab extract)

    1. The default value for all devices and media types 'take no Action' (via Control Panel)
    2. Open WMP11
    3. Change to tab extract, click on the drop down arrow
    4. Make sure that "Never" is selected under ' Rip CD when inserted automatically "
    5. Insert an audio CD
    6. You will notice that WMP11 won't start Ripper but starts to play

This isn't the desired system response.  I want the player to display the information of the album but not start playing.  Currently, I have to manually stop CD/DVD every time.  This behavior produces on each tab not only the tab extract.  However, this behavior does not occur if I play any format of media when you insert a CD/DVD.

I have a number of albums with information that WMP does not reflect accurately or replaced with incorrect catalog data.  Before the tear, I want to fix the information.

To be clear, what follows has already been done and checked:

    1. Go to the control panel
    2. Select "Hardware and sound"
    3. Select 'AutoPlay'
    4. Make sure "AutoPlay for all media and devices use" is checked
    5. Select 'take no Action' for each item listed
    6. Select 'Save'

  • How to stop windows media player from reading when I open it?

I have windows vista. Why does windows media player start to play the first track in my list when it comes on? It didn't used to, but my system has been rebuilt, and now I can not find anywhere, no matter what help (is not always the case? Help files are never 'useful'). I didn't start playing a track just because I opened the windows media player!

Media Player has no opportunity to do so.  Are you sure you're not clicking on a shortcut file that specifies to play?  If you are unsure if the shortcut file specifies a game action, here is how to test directly open it:

    (1) make sure that all programs are closed

    (2) press Windows + R to display the race

    (3) type wmplayer and press OK

Media Player should open without playing anything.

  • Windows Media Player not working, help?

OK, I got this computer from a friend of my father.  Of course, I wiped it clean and reset it because the man had forgotten to do before giving it to my father. I didn't have too many problems with it and more; the often the bombardment of ads, slows down a lot, really bad high heating. After a while, however, I managed to get fixed.

But my real problem is that last year, my Windows Media Player started acting really crazy. It would freeze and become unresponsive, it is impossible for me to do something with it, even if I try to scroll to the bottom of the page. It has gotten to the point where they would stop working all together if I open the program. For this reason, I have no choice, but to go through my Windows Explorer, make a playlist of fortune on a folder and play my music/movies from there.

I thought to download another Windows Media Player and remove the old, but I don't know how to do and what file to get.

Need help please, I'm really tired of seeing the white screen.

  • Problem with Windows Media Player on your computer.

I tried to load a program called Yawcam which can be used to control a webcam.  Installation of Yawcam has asked if I wanted Windows Media Center to view the Webcam.  I clicked Yes.  Serious mistake.  Windows Media Center has taken over my computer.  I have changed throughout most of my icons on the desktop for a Media Center icon, and clicking on one of them causes Windows Media Player start up, even the icons which are always original.  I can't find any setting in Media Player which will solve the problem.  I can't even start Yawcom.  And unfortunately I did not define a recovery point.  Can someone tell me how to retrieve my Windows Media Center desktop icons and return control of my computer myself?

  • Plugin Windows Media Player does not work

36My Windows Media Player plugin worked completely. Then all of a sudden the Windows Media Player started does not not mp4 files. So, I removed the Windows Media Player and then reinstalled by removing this feature off and on again. But now my Windows Media Player plugin does not work. I uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin twice. But no difference, still does not work. Any help would be appreciated. 39

313I discovered what is happening. The plugin has been disabled. I had to start using it. It's working now. Sorry about that!

  • multiple copies of each song in the playlist on Windows media player

OK here is the problem Windows media player started acting up six months ago in taking my music and doubling and tripling, so next time I opened the player instead of having a song should be 2 to 3 to 4 copies of the same song wasn't a single album it was different albums all new songs of my old songs I had before on another computer has not copied over.

It was the first problem, the second problem which began about three months ago, I started noticing the programs that I installed on the computer telling me that I had a visual experience better if I update Windows media player, not a program but several when I checked the version it has been updated.

So why if it's updated all programs says visual experience would be better if I updated the player?  so I go into troubleshooting utility to see what could be wrong.  When is the troubleshooting he wants to restore default I very well it but it never gets done and the problem does not get resolved?  Convenience store also happens with configuration parameters are defined bad convenience store as soon as the defect does not solve the problem if any body knows how to solve this problem Windows player plays correctly, but it is very tiring having to remove 300 songs because they have doubled and tripled.  My operating system is Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit Windows media player as I can tell is number 11 and a updated version of programs that are installed on my computer tell me to update? I have other programs that do also video just need to know why Windows media player is not compatible or apparently not compatible with other programs? no response would be good any help would be nice.

    Help, help, help, help, please.

    Hi Ken

I see that you have not been offered help with this yet, so we'll see if we can get something going on!

Firstly if you have Windows 7 you must run WMP 12. You run automatic updates from MS?

In any case I want you to try is - go to "User accounts" in the control panel and together an account "number two". When this is done to insert a cd and Media Player will open and ask you to use the default settings or customize it. I had to go for custom parameters and in the quality of at192mbps "rip music" tab select mp3 or more (you can get a box pop up asking you to accept copyright laws - accept and continue)...

When he's ready, rip the cd and we'll see if this second account behaves or if you get the same problem of duplication. Looking forward to the result!

    Best - R

  • Windows Media Player is lagging during the game and songs to jump.

Just today, my Windows Media Player started acting odd. When I play a song, it will appear to freeze, but after 5 seconds or so, it starts to play. It's the same thing when to jump tracks. She also takes about 5-10 seconds to stop playback when I hit the break. When it does not freeze, he says 'Changing Media' in the lower left corner. This problem does not occur when I use a reading list, it is quite normal, it doesn't seem to be a problem when reading my library. I don't have any problems with other media players, such as iTunes or VLC player.

I've been looking for a solution online and most of the people with a very similar problem to mine fixed by disabling audio enhancements, but this has not worked for me. This problem has just appeared from nowhere. The only recent change to my computer is a new keyboard, a Logitech G15. I've hung yesterday evening and was listening to music without any problem. But when I turned on my computer today, I was greeted with this problem. I plugged my old keyboard, thinking that he could be the problem, but still no solution.
I'm out of ideas. Any idea of what the solution may be? If this can help, my computer running an AMD Phenom II X processor 4 955 with 8 GB of RAM and my sound is crossing a Radeon 6850 through HDMI on my monitor.
    Thanks for any help.
    [EDIT]
I just noticed that Windows Media Player stops is when I close. The window closes, but I can always see it used in the process, and I have to close it it so that it can turn off completely. Do not know what is causing that.

Nevermind, I finally thought to it. The software for the keyboard activated something called "windows media player gadget for windows sideshow. This seems to be causing the lag. I went to the Windows Sideshow and disabled options program for my keyboard.
