Windows OEM Activation 8 - HELP!
I have an OEM version of windows 8 current enforcement on my new pc that I built myself. I read that winofws 8 if active once u enter the product key during the installation. I did this and everytime I turn on my pc it says to activate windows. I click on it to go into the settings and turn it on and it does connect, it just says: "in waiting to connect." My pc is connected to the internet. I also read that u cannot activate OEM by phone and receive no assistance by phone. I don't even know if I can receive support here. So, what should I do to activate windows? fear that it is being "low-functionality mode" after 30 days. Help
This is not true, that the software can also be activated by phone:
1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4
2. then press the ENTER"" key.
3. Select your "country" in the list.
4. choose the option "activate phone".
5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

HP 350 G1: 8.1 Windows OEM Activation not working anymore?
Hello
After asking here on the forum about the restore a deleted partition, what issue has been resolved. We are facing another problem.
My sister has recently infected laptop computer at a point, it has become UNUSABLE! Kept complete HARD drive, she had more than 400 GB remaining (girl stuff, unlike the guys, they don't download a lot of things); but all of a sudden the drive HARD filled with 400GO remaining at 5 GB
And... the computer is VERY SLOW at the beginning, it used to take a few seconds to start, but it took almost 5 minutes to start when it has been infected. We tried many antivirus software, the laptop came with a preinstalled (can't remember which), beside that, we tried other software Antivirus, Avast, Kaspersky, Eset and Avira.
Most of them don't have a scan of C: / drive with an error message such as "unable to scan the c drive".
Our best option was to reinsert the system.
I first backep keys of Activation OEM (supposed to be encrypted in the BIOS). I found useful tutorials online which allowed me to show how activation key is beinf used, so I just copied it in a safe place, just in case something goes wrong. I didn't not use a third-party software to view the key! Just Windows tools. A third-party application can not be VERY trustfull in terms of license keys.
I then downloaded a genuine 8.1 Windows Pro MSDN Web site with a product key.
The installation went without problems, but when I rebooted I noticed that Windows has not been activated!
I tried to use the saved key more early, unfortunately it does not work, windows said I can't use this key with this edition of windows.
My questions are:
-Can someone tell me WHY I can't use OEM Activation on any edition of windows?
-Is it possible to make it work on all editions anyway?
-A complete reinstallation of version 8.1 of Windows non-Pro is automatically enabled by the BIOS?
-If I buy an activation key for windows pro 8.1, this key somehow will interfere with that in the BIOS?
Thank you
It has been activated automatically after I installed a version of windows not pro 8.1.
Now I understand how it works

Pavillion 500 - a60: Windows 10 activation problem
My hard drive failed completely and was unrecoverable. I replaced the HD and reinstalled Windows 8.1 and it activated successfully. Windows prompted me to upgrade to Windows 10 I tried and after it installed, he refused to activate saying that is not a valid digital license. It gives the 0x803F7001 error code. When I tried to activate by phone, he said that he has already been activated on another device. Then he me connected to a Microsoft agent and he said that the key to Windows OEM installed with the PC is not valid for activate Windows 10 and I had to contact HP for a KEY appropriate to enable activation.
Since the PC is out of warranty there is practically no way of contacting technical support without pay which I think is wrong in this situation. It is the first time that I'm trying to upgrade to 10 Windows, and I have the product key of Windows 8 BIOS of the machine.
I can't find any help on how to solve this problem.
Greg
I managed to get in touch with someone at Microsoft, which has provided a new key and now I have the problem solved. It would have been nice if if HP provided a way to communicate with them on this particular type of problem.

Change the GPU and power supply turns it off a Windows OEM?
So basically I want to replace my graphics card with a new and do I need to switch to the diet. Modification of the power supply and the GPU will disable my Windows OEM?
It should not. Change hard drive or motherboard turns off windows. In the case if it is disabled, you can use telephone activation to activate.
hope that helps

I tried to reinstall windows 8 with my product activation key (OEM), but even though I've only used this product only in a laptop, making it came pre-installed - I got this error.
"One copy of Windows have maybe installed on multiple computers.
Also I don't have a phone, what happened to the good old e-mail support, I could not find any link.
Anyway, information about this error:
"If your product key is used on PCs to let the Microsoft software license agreement, you will have to purchase a product key or copy of Windows for each of your computers in order to turn them on."So if I have to buy a new product key, I don't want to. Because I've already paid for this product and I can't use it, also restore cd won't work anyway.
So how to solve this problem? And is there a support email? (I can't speak to the live chat too, even the support of disability is not an e-mail link for support.)

HP ENVY Sleekbook 6 PC - C8B53PA #ABG - OEM Activation
Hi all
I have a new laptop listed above and I am trying to install Windows 8 Professional so I can attach it to a field.
The problem is that whenever I have install from media Windows 8 Professional (copied on a USB key), it is automatically installed and active as the core of Windows 8, which cannot join a domain. At no time invited me to enter my product key Windows 8 Professional.
I think it's due to data OEM Activation 3.0 is stored in the BIOS or somewhere similar.
How disable Activation OEM (or remove these activation data) so I can install Win8 Pro?
See you soon,.
Matt
Have you tried to do an upgrade within Windows 8 to join professional?
Go to the start-up and upgrade research.
Select the category of settings and open "Get more features with a new edition of Windows".
Here, select already have a product key and enter your product key of Windows 8.As long the COMPUTER service company allows upgrades to produce, then this should unlock Windows 8 Professional using your product key.
To the best of my knowledge, HP does not actively block upgrade to the operating system. They may require the original OS to be handed on for purposes of support, but the system is up to you to any software you want on it. A COMPUTER service with a domain policy would be the only factor limiting.
Let me know what happens.

When I turned on my PC yesterday I got a Windows "in normal search" box saying Windows Product Activation. Given that Windows has been activated on this computer the hardware of the computer has changed significantly. Because of these changes, Windows must be reactivated in 2 days. You want to reactivate Windows now?
My computer has been updated there but nothing for over 2 years. I tried the virus checker & everything looks OK. Is this true? Should I wake? I am running Windows XP.

Hi margaretscott,
· You are prompted to activate your version of windows?
· If so, is that the computer is restarted?
· What is the number and the model of the computer?
· What is the edition of Windows installed?

Hello
I recently installed Vista) for 2 days. Then I realized that I installed them since a updated disc that has problems with a lot of things, but they were successfully activated. The next day, I accidentally reinstalled Vista again this bad disc (I got confused... Sorry) and they activated.
Now, I found the good drive, checked in a VM to ensure it is correct , and I want to install it.
The problem is that I read on the internet that the OEM Activation keys have a limit on activations.
So, I'll be able to activate this copy, or I arrived at this limit?
, Note 1: Before doing anything, the PC is running Vista, which came preinstalledwith it
Note 2: The key is a key to Toshiba OEM
Thanks in advance for help ;)
Hello
The product key must belong to this machine, you cannot transfer Licenses OEM of one calculation to the other.
IF it is an OEM product key that is on the COA sticker on the underside of this Toshiba laptop that you reinstalled Vista on, phone Activation may be required.
If it does require phone activation, do not follow Demand of Auto, but brace yourself for a real person explain as to what has been done for purposes of re-setup.

I want ro activate my vista Enterprise window, but when the window is activated, I have a problem and it is error code is 0xC004C020

0xC004C020 error code
Symptom
When you try to use a MAK to activate one or more computers, you may receive the following error message:
0xC004C020
The activation server reported that the Multiple Activation key has exceeded its limit.Cause
The MAK has exceeded the activation limit. By design, MAKs have a limited number of activations.
Workaround
Contact the product activation call center to obtain a new MAK or to increase the limit on the existing MAK activation.

What type of license you have?
If you have an OEM or FPP product, then you should have your license key on your computer or on the packaging. Contact the Microsoft Activation Center to find out if your product key is valid:
1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
2. press enter on your keyboard
3. Select your country.
4. take the phone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.
`~`
During the activation of the phone
Go to Start
Click run
And type SLUI 05
In the drop-down list, select the name of the country you live. This is important because depending on the country you select, you will assign a number to call.
Click the nearest location > United States
Click Next
This window contains all the information you need.
Step 1 contains the number you call.
Step 2 contains a series of unique numbers, you will need to provide the series of numbers to the operator (don't make any mistakes).
Step 3 If everything is Ok, the operator will provide you with a confirmation ID, you will need to enter numbers in the boxes in step 3 and press ENTER.
Activation of the telephone process is simple, try to use common sense in his answers.
If the confirmation correct what ID provided it must be welcomed by a new window confirming a real installation.

Windows Vista active again and again
* original title - Windows Vista active more and more and more and (you get the idea) *.
for 3-4 months, at least once or twice a week (currently twice now with 3 days now) VIsta started in a black screen, stating that "this copy of Windows is not genuine" with a dialog box indicating the Activation succeeded.
Why Vista has suddenly decided to activate so often? OS is fully legitimate, fully serviced, all the installed updates blah blah.
As such, I have no problem with the activation screen popping up, my main concern is if the activation of MS servers decide my product key was activated too many times and decided to tell me to go away (to say politely!), which would be pretty annoying because nothing on my hardware spec has changed over the last 4 months , and the only significant change was a year ago when I upgraded my HD because of an impending failure alert (SMART State). RAM, processor and motherboard were the same items from the first installation.
Should he help diagnose etc. machine spec is:
"Northwood" Pentium 4 3 GHz FSB 533 Mhz processor
ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
2GB DDR1 Geil
NVidia 7600GS AGP 512 MB iirc GPU

This can be caused by a number of things - usually an anti-virus scan of the system at the same time that the licensing service is trying to verify the activation status.Nothing to fear (usually) - but if it persists, or the notification remains standing, you should run a report of MGADiag (when the notification is displayed) and post it here.
