Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

This can help you:

http://www.heidoc.NET/Joomla/technology-science/Microsoft/57-Windows-Vista-direct-download-links

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Windows how much you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Pre-installed Vista does not work on my laptop

    Hello

    I have a new Toshiba laptop with pre-installed Vista Home Premium. It works just completely.
    My daughter bought it for me from PC World in the United Kingdom and I live in Guernsey.
    All the options of what I do now, as right now I have a laptop unusable.

    I'm partially blind and need a computer to function well.

    Hi Denise

    Have you tried to use the Toshiba Recovery CD and reinstall the entire operating system?
    You should do this.

    On this way you might know if it s a hardware or software problem

    If the laptop will not properly work after reinstalling the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba then it could probably be a hardware problem.

    If hardware laptop s malfunctioning it s necessary to contact the service provider authorized in your country. Technicians could check all components of the laptop and can locate the fault.

    Good luck Denise

    I have recived portable computer of the Government with windows pre installed 7professional but now I want to format and reinstal it I require the startup disk and product key (my OS is authentic)

    If it's a copy of volume license installed, you will need to contact your employer to find the product key and get the installation files.

    If it is preinstalled at the factory with Windows 7 Professional, then use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7.

    New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

    This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

    For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

    For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

    For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

    For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

    For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

    For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

    For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

    For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

    Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

    Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

  • Pre-installed Vista CD computer Dell laptop allows you to install Vista on another computer of dell desktop originally pre-installed with XP?

    Hello.

    Have an old dell desktop with XP.
    Have a new computer dell laptop with Vista.

    Both came pre-installed.
    Both came with a CD to reinstall Windows.

    Am I allowed to install Vista from that original CD on the desktop?
    I did, then you have the problem (not genuine copy of Vista). I have since reinstalled Vista, but before I completely setting up the office, once again, I want to make sure that I am able to do this (do not want the new not genuine error).

    Specific questions:
    1. am I allowed to use portable CD to install Vista on another computer?
    2. If so, that must be done to ensure the "not genuine" error can't?

    Thanks for any help.
    Shawn

    Reference Dell binds their records to their motherboards.

    If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

    The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
    You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

    And a Vista license = a Vista Installation.

  • where is the product key on 8 windows pre installed and how to retrieve it

    Acer 5600u 64-bit preinstalled windows 8, I know it is stored in the UEFI bios, but how do I get the 25-digit product key. Key recovery software does not work, so I hope someone out there can help you.

    As you say, it is pre-installed in the BIOS.  It is not recoverable.

    If you use the load from the factory, it is not necessary to have the product key.

  • Reformatting laptop computer with Windows pre-installed 8

    Hi all!

    Recently I bought Lenovo Y500 with pre-installed Windows 8. I've never used Windows before 8 and this is my first time ever affected by it. I understand that Microsoft no longer use the activation key of conventional product with Windows 8 pre installed devices. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the activation key is now encrypted and incorporated in the BIOS itself. I also understand that there is a feature of system recovery and even a Clean-Install feature in Windows 8 and Windows 8 would automatically read the activation key in the BIOS while being reinstalled.
    I have read all those who want to reinstall Windows 8 and that the clean install would often suggested, but what happens if I want to reformat the laptop in all, completely destroy everything, delete existing partitions and reinstall Windows 8 after that? From a technical point of view, reformatting and repartitioning shouldn't affect the BIOS, and so I guess that if I had to reinstall Windows 8 after reformatting and repartitioning, installing Windows 8 should read the key of Activation of the BIOS always automatically and activate at the first internet connection. Or am I wrong?
    On a side note, when I bought my laptop, it did not come with the disk Installation of Windows 8, so if I had to reformat and reinstall, where I'd get the file of Installation of Windows 8? Am I supposed to download from the Microsoft Web page (if there is even a link to download it) and burn the image to a blank disc and use it to install?
    Best regards & thanks!
    Patrick

    Microsoft does not disks for computers of brand manufacturers.

    https://secure.TX.Acer.com/rcdb/main.aspx?brand=Acer

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • I tried to reinstall windows xp on my computer and I got a message < root windows > \systems32\hal.dll. I tried to use a disc of windows xp cd and nothing works for me. my pc came with windows pre-installed on it btw. can someone help me fix it
    I tried the suggestion on the error message and nothing works
    Hi Honee,
    Please, try the following.
    You must boot your PC with the XP cd-rom Setup disk, if you have
    one.
    Then, when you get to the screen with the following option appears:
    To repair a Windows XP installation using
    Recovery Console, press R.
    Then press [R] to launch the "Recovery Console".
    When confronted by a prompt asking for the administrator password - just
    Press [ENTER]
    After his start in RC - type the following command:
    Expand x:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll
    (where [x] is the letter of your cd drive)
    * NB If SP3 is installed - then the command that you type must be:
    Copy c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\hal.dll c:\windows\system32
    ... instead, because the files are of two different levels of review
    (versions).
    Then restart.
    I hope this helps!
  • Need product key to activate Windows pre-installed 8
    I bought a floor model computer that had windows 8 preloaded. He tells me that I need a product key that I don't have. Please send me an email giving me the product key, I would have to buy a new.
    Original title: product key
    Hello
    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.
    With Windows 8, Microsoft provides no stickers of certificate of authenticity (COA) that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system. Now integrated into the BIOS product keys. Thus, eliminating the sticker it prevents damage to both eliminate the process long and annoying typing in various letters and numbers during installation of the operating system.
    If you need to reinstall the operating system on a machine that came with Windows preinstalled 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without external input. As your Windows 8 is preinstalled on your computer, it must be automatically re-enabled. If not, try the following steps to check the issue.
    a. press Windows key + X , then click run, then type: slui.exe 4
    b then press the ENTER"" key.
    c. Select your "country" in the list.
    d. choose the option "activate phone".
    e. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.
    f. explain your problem to the support person.
    Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.
