Windows problem for hard drive replacement

I am trying to replace a hard drive in a HP d530 for a science teacher as the XP is a failure. He needs the XP until I finished preparing the Windows 7 and it has data on the XP and I put Windows 7 on the new hard drive and it has 80 GB. The old hard drive Windows XP and it is a 40 GB. I had two hard drives hooked when installing Windows 7. Windows 7, the name is the C drive and disk XP the D. I tried to start the hard drive of 7 single and it gives me an error of invalid system disk. Press a key to reboot. When I have two connected hard drives, windows 7 starts very well. A computer teacher wants to clone Windows 7 for another professor of science. He said, it won't help him with two hard drives connected. How can I get on the 80 GB stand-alone installation without having to reinstall Windows 7 Windows 7. I want to disconnect the hard drive from XP and just use the hard disk 7. I have the 7 and XP on separate hard drives. They are the two IDE hard drives. I need to get the new hard drive to boot by its self and windows 7 as a stand-alone installation.

That's good news.

I'm so glad you took in charge.

    Nice day

I've been using a + A200-1AH + for three years. Unfortunately, I suffer from problem of free disk space. So, I decided to replace my drive with a new one.

How can I know the HDD I buy will be suitable for my laptop?

Can you please tell me what era the + key-points + I need to know when buying a new hard drive for my laptop?

I changed the subject, because it was so dumb. Why would I ask 'what hard drive buy' in a Toshiba forum :) what a forum administration...

    Hello

Satellite A200 is a more recent series of laptops. This series of laptop use and support the SATA HDD controller and this means that you need a SATA HDD!

The laptop runs the 2.5 hard drives. The speed of the HARD drive is not very important for compatibility so that you can choose 4200 RPM or other

In addition the SATA controller has no limitation in size so THEORETICALLY, you should be able to use hard drives with 320 GB or more
But in some cases rare BIOS would not be able to manage some HARD drive sizes, but this generally isn't the case

  • Windows problem with hard drive changed from IDE to SATA connection.

After a full rebuild (new MB, CPU, graphics and RAM) and install the new copy of Windows 7 Home, everything is great, until I try to connect an additional internal HDD. The boot and then crashes to the windows logo. Additional HARD drive is SATA, but it has already been used on an IDE connection.

The bios recognizes the drive, but obviously, there's some kind of conflict in Windows (I think the reader can contain a backup of the previous generation system).

    System;

    MB ASUS M5A97 R2.0

    CPU AMD FX6

    Gskill 8 GB of RAM.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem please?

    Thanks, Chris

Usually means a player has failed/problematic

You say sata drive but used on a connector IDE does that mean you are using a cable converter, because the type of interface is completely different, or do you just mean the parameter for the connection of the bios?

Once you have your new drive installed and your recovery disc made available:

Place the first recovery disc in the DVD drive, and then press the power button. If prompted to press a key to boot from the DVD do. In the Recovery Manager, select the factory reset. Who will install the operating system and all the partitions that were on the original hard drive.

Can I use the recovery disk to install the OS?  on this new HARD drive? Yes and Yes

Can I use the product key on the stikcer on the bottom of the laptop to activate win7? Yes

    Thanks in advance!

  • Reviews for hard drive Replacement

Hello - I have a desktop Win7 home premium p6320f I bought exactly 2ys 2 days ago.  Locked up.  wouldn't boot.  sys given diag error BIOHD-2 HD.  Connected chk SMART BIOS status - bla bla "imminent hard drive failure".  I was wondering if HP would support by buying a new HD (and no I didn't buy an extension of coverage), back in the day when you've got a disc of bone w/computer if it crashed you might contact MS and get a 1 key renewal time.  There that somehow we can recover the OS they buy on a new computer with no disc?  I'm sure I'm not the right place for these issues, but if someone can offer a few tips (or a tissue) I would be very happy.  See you soon!

    Hello

    1. you can buy many HARD drives around, they are much cheaper now (not like a few months back due to flooding in Thailand). For Office HARD drive, you can pay about $150 for 2 TB.

2 you can order a set of recovery DVD from HP, this game will cost you between $ 30 to $ 50 (I think)

  • Satellite A200 - recovery for HARD drive replacement drive

    Hi all,

I have here an A200 owner said that he has just stopped working, it gives the message "BOOTMGR is missing", it was running Vista Basic. Vista recovery disc found no operating system (recovery program has written a few files from Notepad on the drive which seem to be the only things on it) install the drive in an external enclosure and try on another computer shows that the only files are the ones notebook. A disk check program found a few bad sectors.

I intend to replace the drive, my question is what I can do. the operating system, he had a legal copy of Vista, but it came from Harvey Norman with no recovery disc (if the discs provided?) that I have to buy a new copy of the operating system.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hi Zamica,

I m a bit confused... As a first step, you wrote that the recovery disc found no operating system and then you wrote that he came with no recovery disc

Anyway, if you n t have a Toshiba Recovery disk, you can order it on the Web from Toshiba site (depending on the exact model) or you can ask a service provider authorized in your country.

  • Problem with installing Windows on a hard drive, HARD drive does not get detected after installation

Original title: help with hard drive of the computer.

    Flow of the problem:

My aunt tried to install windows 7 on the previous copy of windows 8. Needless to say that it doesn't work and it has messed up the hard drive. So, I bought a vacuum. I formatted the hard drive using my other windows computer to have 2 partitions: a boot partition and system partition, and then used the program WinToUSB to install windows on the hard disk. The reason I did it is, because no matter how many times I changed the BIOS in my laptop of aunts, it wouldn't boot from the DVD player to load the windows software. After a few hours, I found WinToUSB. Once windows has been installed, I plugged it into the laptop. For a few hours, I didn't know what to do, because the computer does not recognize the hard drive (he said: "Not detected"). I decided to start from legacy, and then the screen deals

    «intell...» »

and a bunch of dates, etc all the stuff on the screen to load legacy if you know what I mean.

He said "not plugged in the media. Check the power cord.

Then quickly changed screen before I can read almost anything and it goes to the normal windows screen black (with 4 colors). I said to myself, how can he be loading if the hard drive is not detected... Once it is loaded, he brought me to the blue screen (blue screen of death, if you want) I turned the computer on again, always noticing the hard drive was not detected. I ran all the recovery/repair options I could and turned off the laptop. I came back a few hours ago and I loaded the computer again and went into the BIOS.  He said that the hard drive has been detected and said the news about this, as usual. However, at the start of the legacy of windows loading screen, it said still not detected.  I then started to windows to see since it is now detected if that fixes the blue screen. Yet, there is no. I tried to go to the normal windows and screen remains blue. any ideas?

    Hello Chris,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description, it seems that Windows was not properly installed on the hard drive. I'm not sure how to work the software from third-party manufacturers WinToUSB and reliable installation process is. Microsoft does not recommend using any third party tool to install Windows on your computer, the use of these third-party tools can cause serious damage to your computer.

I would say to format the hard drive once more and try to install Windows through normal Windows installation process.

Refer to the section "using the installation option custom if no operating system is installed" in the thread below.

    Installing and reinstalling Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/installing-reinstalling-Windows#1TC=Windows-7

If you are not able to install Windows on the hard drive at all, I suggest you to contact the hard drive manufacturer to obtain a diagnosis of material performed on the hard drive.

Do not hesitate to write back for any further assistance with Windows, we will be happy to help you.

  • I had my hard drive replaced on my Toshiba lap top and my windows 7 is no longer considered as authentic code has rubbed off the sticker on the base of my lap top. Where can I find it?

I had my hard drive replaced on my Toshiba lap top and my windows 7 is no longer considered as authentic code has rubbed off the sticker on the base of my lap top. Where can I find it?

    Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

    Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

    Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

  • Questions about X 240 hard drive replacement

I read through the related content on the hard drive for this machine swaps, but I wanted to clarify a few things before going forward.

    Background:

    • Lenovo X 240 w / 500 GB HDD and SSD 16 GB (both came standard), Windows 7
    • HARD drive is faulty (confirmed)
    • I've built / repaired my PC in the past and have a moderate comfort level 'dig deeper' a machine

    Issues related to the:

    1. I will replace with a 500GB HARD drive (or more) SSD. I understand a type reader 2.5 "SATA III will work, but I've seen classified not only 7 mm compatible heights but 9 mm heights will work as well - is this true?
    2. Given the essential motivation will be a SSD, I think that disk cache 16 GB SSD will be useless? Is there a wrong to her leaving (without performance degradation)? If it is best to remove it, I understand it is not easy to access (is there a decent tutorial on how to do it)?
    3. I have a backup image on an external drive (made with standard tools of Win 7), which will be the best way to get this door to the new SSD? I've got a KingWin EZ-Connect and another office that could be exploited which simplifies the process
    4. To confirm, I read a topic on the copy of a HARD drive for an SSD associated spacing address 4K, but don't think that this is the case, it was a Win 7 OS on the original HARD drive?

    Thanks for the help

    Hello and welcome, drandersoninc

    1. Yes, x 240 supports SATA III drives, 7 mm or 9.5 mm height

    2. no need to have a cache drive if the primary drive is the SSD. Remove after uninstalling the software cache.

Useful items to find the drive inside the laptop and remove it:

    http://lenovolearning.bhivesoft.com/bhive/t/1004/sessions_details_public.jsp?content_id=7966

Disk cache is placed under the internal battery, on the cover of chip card reader.
Open the 3rd link above, take a course, go to the part of the technical review, expand it, select "ThinkPad x 240 m2 - 3rd slot. You will see drive cache.

3 use the cloning software, clone the content of all of the reader (not a partitions). You need just a USB SATA box.

    4. There is no problem of k 4 with modern and win7 discs.

  • My Mac has crashed. Reinstalling my operating system or hard drive replacement will cause me to lose my Adobe Master Suite?

I bought my Macbook Pro 17 (it's a Mid-2009, running Cougar 10.8.4) used on eBay, and it came with Adobe Master Suite CS5. I pursued a degree in graphic design, and the computer had everything that I needed to start. Now that I'm out of College, I rely heavily on InDesign and Photoshop to get the job done. However, after five years of loyal service without problem, my Mac has crashed and I have never used time Machine. I might have to reinstall Mountain Lion or replace the hard drive. Reinstalling my operating system or hard drive replacement will cause me to lose my Adobe Master Collection of applications? I can save them somehow?

  • Qosmio F60-111 - HARD drive replacement

I have a F60-111 and he had a problem bad hard drive several months ago, he was not even a year and was already late and crashing all the time. I have 3 years international warranty for it, so I sent the laptop in Saudi Arabia and the hard drive was replaced in January, I got just now, but I am disappointed. The laptop works, of course, but the replacement hard drive was only 100 GB, which is a big downgrade of its original capacity of 600 GB.

My problem is my laptop has been repaired, but it was replaced by a lower capacity hard drive. I feel blurry, am I entitled to compensation? Thank you.

    Hello

That s is truly amazing. Please don t wait so long and communicate with this service as soon as possible. Explain the situation and ask their explanation. Something like that should not happen, and the defective HARD drive must be exchanged with the same.

If they do not cooperate you should comment a threat by directly contacting Toshiba.

What do you think of this?
