Windows random & quot; Always on the top & quot;

From time to time, when one of my windows switch mode "Always on top. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I can't think any mouse or keyboard sequence that does as it appears completely random. It is naturally quite annoying as the only way around it is to close the offending window.

This happened since I have the laptop a few months ago. It's a Dell M6600 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I have a nVidia card but nView is disabled, so I know this isn't the culprit. I suspect this switch of monitor icon that displays to the left of the button cut might have something to do with it, but I can't figure out how to remove this thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. It's the soft "premiercolor. Especially since the module "display splitter". I think that it is better to swith off this thing.

  • Search menu drop down always on the top of the & blocks tapping annoyance of keyboard screen

    Hello

I use the windows on-screen keyboard 95% of the time. And I would usually place in the middle of the window when in use. When I need to type in the search box, and even if the screen keyboard it is set to always on top, it always goes IN the drop-down search suggestions, which blocks my ability to keep typing. I have to stop typing and move the OSK to the right or the left beyond the border right or left of the search box or move it to everything at the top of the window or down out of the way the drop-down list. Then, this highlights the text that I already typed, forcing me to click at the end of it, or start over (once I moved the OSK out of his way). Even though I have disabled search suggestions still has a drop down menu which blocks the OSK (position/size/length of the search along the top box and the position of the OSK are where I love them bc of my poor eyesight). The address bar does the same. I want to know if there is a way to keep the search drop-down box UNDER the OSK while I type? It's a long question, I apologize, but it's a little wordy to describe. See the photo and I'm sure that you will understand what I mean. The OSK is always set to "Always on top" in Win 7 Premium

It looks like a work in progress for programmers. I wonder if this thread could be redirected to them? I'm ready for this mark as resolved for me personally, that the behavior of the drop-down menu 'old' shorter is easy {er} to avoid now and also provides suggestions less and less that I type in the query (which therefore relieves my annoyance).

The OSK should, logically, remain on top, right? Ah even though it IS hard to read them with a keyboard in the way... this is defined as a conundrum for those that would, like me, to read both the helpful suggestions and the keyboard letters at the same time.

  • Windows cannot find back to the top before you reinstall Visa Business x 32.

As I had problems with windows, the decision was made to reinstall Vista Business x 32; has SP2. Before that, I did a return upwards using the windows towards the high utility (I had done this for the last 18 months). I can find the back of the files on the external hard drive (PC name, backup set of 1st registration, I've done the reverse and then the following dates that I saved the last date with 12.8 GB). I get the message that it is not save ti available use. I tried to use the method advanced and always impossible to get anything. I tried to boot in safe mode and got the message that this operation was not available in safe mode. The problems that I had with windows has been fixed with the resettlement, but I would really like to get my files back.

    Thanks in advance.

Here is an article on the restore procedure: http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work): http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):

    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."

    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"

    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.

4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup (Yes... even if he said that the backup location is not available " ")

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

I hope this helps. If this isn't the case after back and we're going to try something else.  It may have something to do with permissions or the files there and we will discuss these options (and perhaps other institutions).

  • Printing images inserted on Windows 2003 with some of the top printed at the bottom

The printer is a Photosmart D7560. Images inserted into a Word 2003 document were still part of the top (which seems to vary) printed at the bottom of the image, despite the Preview Print shows images correctly. The text above and below the pictures will print correctly. Document prints correctly on a Canon i850 printer.

Ok. I lowered my butt and try the HP Deskjet 450 driver first. He wouldn't do anything. I then tried the 990 c driver and here, the photos printed OK.  So, I conclude that the programmer who made D7560 h driver was working Monday after a 3-day weekend. But this is a good interim solution. I doubt if HP will repair the driver D7560 h, but at least I don't have to rely on the Canon i850, if she should die an untimely death.

+ "Your device no way recovery can be ordered, because he is not from the area of Toshiba Europe, or he is too old for this service." +

    Help!

    Hello

I presume that you can order only the latest Toshiba Vista recovery DVD using this from Toshiba Web site.

If you need a recovery (Win XP) for this older satellite series CD, then you will need to contact the ASP (authorized service provider) in your country.

However, you can use a Microsoft XP CD to the original address to repair or reinstall the operating system.

By the way; have you tried to boot the operating system in safe mode by pressing the F8 key?
Please check this box. Maybe it's possible.

Yesterday, I installed IE 8 optimized for AT & T Yahoo. I tried to start windows normally, then the last known good configuration and not matter what I do it looks like its about to start up, then a brief blue screen flashes then I finish immediately at the start screen mode to choose. I don't want to reload windows if I have to. I wish now that I had stayed with my old AT & T Yahoo browser. He was doing very well until I have given and responsible for IE8.

Thanks for the tip, but I finally found my answer on another site. I put on my xp drive, went to retrieve and type CHKDSK at the command prompt. It has helped to correct the mistakes, got rid of IE 8, and now I am running.

  • Is it possible to display a dialog box with the fields/custom controls for the Windows Vista login screen to the top.

    Hello

In Windows XP (prior to Windows Vista), a Service could be interactive and display a window/dialog on the login screen.

Of course services are no longer allowed to be interactive, and certainly, I agree that it is an improvement in security.

However, say if I wanted to do one of the following values, which is possible (and how to implement). I don't mind what language I have to set in.

    (1) add a button in the login screen that says "Reset Password" which will then invite a form with questions of security.

    (2) run an application within the login window

Really appreciate any help on this matter,

    Hello

    ·          Did you do a clean installation of Windows Vista?

Try to analyze the computer using Antivirus software because this problem can occur if the computer is infected with the virus. You can use the Microsoft Security Analyzer by clicking on link http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/

Note: once a virus is removed, you will need to reinstall some software, or restore lost information.

You can also use Microsoft Security Essentials to scan your computer.

  • Is WOT a bad feature? It is said that it is not safe. I got rid of him in my accessibility programs, but it is always on the top of my screen. How do iI get rid of it?

I don't know how WOT appeared all of a sudden, but it it's risky, I don't want that.

There is an extension called Web of Trust - safe browsing tool , that is legitimate. These are uses crowd-sourcing to help the user to understand whether a particular Web site is safe or not. If that's what you seem to use then, no, it is not a feature of bad judges will check your list of extensions installed by clicking on the orange Firefox button and selecting Add-ons. If it is, then you can easily remove.

  • How to keep a window to always stay on top in windows 7?

I try to keep a window to stay always stay on top of all other windows windows 7.i know how with xp, but how do I do it in 7?
    Kind regards
    Richard Steed

    Richard,

This isn't a feature built into Windows (Windows XP don't have this or the other, but many computer manufacturers like Dell, as well as manufacturers like nVidia graphics card) other software that allows you to do this for any open program.

My recommendation is to perform an Internet search for a similar software.  One who seems perfect for you is this always-On-Top utility, available here.
