  Original title: How to install Windows Installer under Vista when it is not under Services in the computer or in the section programs? I can't add or remove programs without it.

  I went to download 17 updates and not a single one would download and install. I tried all the suggestions on go to services and find the installer of Windows, but I don't have it anywhere on my computer. I tried to download version 4.5 on my Vista to Windows Welcome page and it said that it was not for my system.
