Windows Update error 80072F78 in Windows 8

On the search for new updates, I get the message "Code 80072F78 Windows Update" came across a problem.

So I ran the Windows Update troubleshooting tool. :

Then I tried again and still got the message of error 80072F78.

Rebooted and tried again and still got the error 80072F78.

Help!

Thank you!

I managed to find the problem - it was Hola.

Hola has implemented an automatic configuration script in the settings of the LAN that it was impossible to uncheck until I uninstalled Hola. Then I could check 'Automatically detect connection settings' and this setting would not hold.

And then I could download and install the updates...

    This proxy are you running?

Error 0x80072F78 - invalid server response it is usually due to the power of attorney.

    Try the following:

    Check the connection settings:

Open Internet Explorer > tools > Internet Options > connections > LAN settings

Check or uncheck the option 'automatically detect settings '.

Apply the changes, quit Internet Explorer and try Windows Update again.

Error 0x80072F78 is usually caused by the proxy or the firewall is not blocking issues.

    You have active port 443?

Can we try without going through the proxy server to eliminate this possibility?

    You use a firewall?

    You block Active X controls?

  • Windows update error 80072EFD

    Hello
I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.

I tried everything I can find this error, including the verification of the proxy settings for WU, reset the proxy via CMD prompt settings.

I noticed something interesting while control validation using microsoft MGA diagnostic tool, where windows has been listed as a hat, but note some reports as:

    Validation code: 0
    LegitCheckControl: N/a, hr = 0 x 80070002
    signed: n/a, hr = 0 x 80070002

My understanding is the way to 0 x 80070002 he couldn't connect identical to WU or that files are missing.

I have rebuilt that recommended such c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution records, turned off all firewall, removed antivirus / software malware but still no luck.

It seems funny how the same thing happens even after a clean drive toshiba recovery.

    Any suggestions?

  • Windows update error code 80070005 when checking for updates

I was getting updated with no problems on a clean install of Windows 7 Pro x 86.  After I installed MS Office 2007 Pro and other software.  I clicked on search for updates and I get the red box error "windows can not find the new updates" error found Code 80070005 I am logged in as a user with Admin Access.  I disabled Norton AntiVirus...    When I click view update history, it is empty, even though I've updated several times.

    Hi Willaton,

The 80070005 error means usually you do not have permission appropriate to run the update.

You could disable your anti-virue and malware/spyware protection temporarily to see if they are in conflict with the update installation program.

If this does not work, I suggest you log in to the account administrators integrated and update from there. To connect to the administrator account

    1. Click Start, right click on computer, then click on manage.

    2. expand local users and groups, and then click the users folder.

    3. right click on the connection of the administrator, and then click Properties, then remove that checking the account is disabled.

You can now restart the computer and log on to the administrator account and try the update again.

    Hope this information is useful.
