I received a Windows Update error 80070490 compared to the HP printer.  How to solve this?  What are the steps to take.

    Step 7 (method for Windows Vista), the * UPGRADE option is not available because Service Pack/s are installed and that your operating system is newer than the system you are trying to reinstall, so service pack/s must be removed in this case.

  • Windows update error 80070490 - other corrections code do not work.

    I have 9 updates, that I need to install it and I get the error code 80070490.

    I did the following to try to address everything with no luck...
    (1) tried a system restore. Unfortunately this update has been tried and failed several times during the last few days, and each time it is automatically a restore point. So now I have no more old that won to restore restore points.
    2.) have tried updating system as indicated here preparation tool:
    Rebooted and still have the problem.
    2.) attempt to perform a repair with my Vista Ultimate DVD installation as described here:

    The problem is that I can't choose 'upgrade '. It is grayed out. The reason for this is that I can't upgrade to a version older than what I'm running now. My DVD is SP1 and I have since upgraded to SP2. I keep seeing this recommendation and it will not work for me.
    (3.) I deleted the "Software Distribution" folder and reinstalled the WindowsUpdateAgent.
    4.), I tried to use the Mr FixIt. It does not find that there is a problem with the windows update and then it tries to fix it. It runs corrections and says that it has attached to them. But when I close and re - run, problems are found and 'fixed' again. I have been through multiple cycles of Mr FixIt, restart, update, error, fixit, etc.. I also tried the fixit several times back to back running. Whenever he finds the problem, says it is fixed, but then when re-ran he finds the problem, said again and again this is corrected.
    This all started after uninstalling several pieces of software by using the control panel. I emptied several unused programs and uninstalled AVG Antivirus. Not sure if this is related or not, since that was a few days after uninstalling before I saw for the first time this error.
    I'm still having the problem.
    If you could point me kindly to specific files that need to be extracted for this error I would really appreciate it.

    I managed to solve this problem on my own. It turned out to be something with the above Japanese language pack. I uninstalled it and everything updated correctly. I thought I'd pass just in case someone else has the same problem.

    Important: make sure to save all your date before performing the repair facility.

    Note: After the upgrade on site, your personal data and installed programs will not be deleted, but you may need to run Windows Update to install all the updates that are available for your system to update these files system to the current version.

    If your installation DVD disc is prior to Sp1, and you have the SP1 is installed on your computer, you will need to uninstall SP1 to finish the upgrade on the spot and then reinstall the necessary windows updates. This applies if you have SP2 also.

    Currently I have Windows 8.1 and want to update my printer to the HP Officejet Pro 8610.  I know that it will work with my current operating system, however, when I switch to Windows 10, it will always be compatible?

    Windows 10 is still in testing phase, so there is still no complete star driver on the HP website, but I expect that the 8610 Pro Officejet will fully rely.  I do not have the Windows 10 build 10122 and it has a driver for my similar 8620 Officejet Pro included.

    I note the "HP all-in - One Printer Remote" is listed for Windows 8.1 +, I expect it will be updated as well.

    I have a Samsung NP350V5C-S09AU.

    I did a restore (full reset/factory setting) due to a previous issue in which I can not enter safe mode and start windows because of the failure in updating graphics driver (managed to do a complete reset via advanced startup).

    After the restoration of the system, I used SW Update to download the drivers first then checked and installed the windows updates. I ignored the prompt to reboot the PC SW update because I waited for the restart of the PC of Windows Update service prompt (that's what I before I did a restore and even managed to safely update to windows 8.1).

    After the reboot, it doesn't seem to be anything wrong (showed the usual for update and other progression). Then I reopened it SW Update again to search for any other driver updates, met a little a problem to update driver Bluetooth but has managed to install it successfully. However it does not appear to update to 2.0.0.7x 2.0.0.38 'settings', then I felt that I should just give 2.0.0.38 until I have install more updates to the window.

    Before you install any other updates, I checked windows update history and find facilities failed (error 80070490); I went and did a few things such as troubleshooting and SFC scans via admin cmd.

    Troubleshoot has trained and found "Windows Update components must be repaired" and "Find files missing or corrupted", both correction has been marked as fixed (auto-fix option). I ran out again to double check if it has been set, but even after several times, it shows the same results of these two issues have been found, but attaches.

    SFC scans by admin cmd has led, in a first step, "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and managed to repair their." Details are provided in convertible bonds. Newspaper %WinDir% \Logs\CBS\CBS.log. ».     I tried the Windows Update error correction. System update readiness tool has not corrected the problem. When I insert the Windows DVD, I get to the step 6 which asks which type of installation, I want. When I try to click on upgrade, it says updating has been disabled. Any other suggestions? Help!

  • DeskJet Pro 8610: DeskJet Pro 8610 Windows XP error

    I had problems with the operation the 8610 Officejet Pro Windows XP. Whenever I try to print a test page, I just get a generic error asking me to start the troubleshooter, which does absolutely nothing. It only gives me an error of sorts. I have chekced the error log and it tells me that it is the printer driver. I re-installed the printer using different drivers and nothing seems to work.

    The same problem happens if I install the printer on a server and try printing from XP. I'm going to rebuild the machine, but I don't know if it will work either. Is there a work around, I really want to have to rebuild every XP machine, whenever we get an HP printer.

    I thought about it. I think just the HP driver on their site doesn't work with XP anymore. I used an older CD for an HP 8600 printer, and which seems to have done the trick. Thanks for your help.

    I have Windows Vista Ultimate and I get error 80070490 when you try to make updates.

    I tried to reinstall the program with the DVD to repair damaged files, but my DVD has SP1 while the computer already has SP2, so it will not upgrade the DVD. The only option is to 'clean up' the installation or an upgrade higher.

    Any suggestions?

    I also have the DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. It doesn't matter if I'm updating 2 updates to security in Vista before moving on to Windows 7? The new installation of Windows 7 take care of damaged in Vista files?

  • OfficeJet pro 8610: open door error ADF

    The ADF begins to pull on a page then stops and says that there is a door open ADF error.  I don't see where this would be. This is the first time I've ever used the ADF, so I can't tell if it worked before or not.  The cover is not closed tight on the glass... which means that there is like a 1/4 "crack all around.  I put the weight down on it and tried again, but which did not help. Any suggestions?

    I understand that you are getting the error ADF door open on your printer. Try following the steps and check them out below:

    Make sure that the doors of the ADF are closed on both sides. Please check the picture below. The red part surrounded by a circle is the ADF door. You can open the door and close the door with little force.

    If the problem persists, try to unplug the printer from the power outlet when the printer is turned on. Wait 2 - 3 minutes then turn on the printer and check.

  • In Vista Home Premium SP 2, I can't update: error 80070490. (I can update Security Essentials) None of the tools / corrections / convenience stores solves this problem. Is there another way I can fix my windows.

    FixIt / Forums / Automatic troubleshooting / scannow / etc all tried without success; It will not update. None of the tools / corrections / convenience stores solves this problem. My installation disc was done by oneself as the HP computer came with a disk.  Is there another way I can fix my windows.
