Windows update error from 8 to 8.1 - Code 8007041

Error (s) found:
Code D 8007041
Original title: 8 to 8.1 windows update error
Hello
You can get this error if some third-party anti-virus collide with Windows Update. To resolve this problem, use the following methods in the order in which they are listed. After each method, check to see if the problem is resolved. If the problem is not resolved, try the next method.
Method 1: if you are using a third-party antivirus program. I suggest you temporarily disable and check.
Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 2: I suggest you to run the Windows Update troubleshooting from this link or manually follow the instructions in this link to try to solve the problem of Windows update first.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058/en-us
If the troubleshooter as well as the measures do not help, try to run the DISM commands and then try to check if you are able to install the update to Windows. (Install only 3-5 updates at a time instead of installing all the updates total)
1. type command prompt in the charms of the search, right-click on it and select run as administrator.
2 type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
3. close the command prompt, and then run Windows Update again.
Once the Windows updates are installed correctly, restart the computer and check if Windows 8.1 update is available. Make sure the update KB 2871389 is correctly installed on the computer. Please refer to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2871389/en-us
If the update is not always displayed in the store, you can have a look at the information provided in the http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/why-can-t-find-update-store
Please try the steps as stated in the statutes help and let us know the results.

Hello
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I downloaded the installer from the Windows Update Agent to obtain the latest Windows Update Agent. (I now c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll version 7.3). I got the installer of http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949104. (http://download.windowsupdate.com/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/7.4.7600.226/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe)
When I run the installer obtained above, I get the following error:
"windows update error unrecoverable Setup agent has met.
This installer is not compatible with Windows 7?
Thank you.
Try to do a Reset with the Fix It (aggressive mode) here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058
Run you Win7 64-bit, or is this a brand new computer?
What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription? What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications? What third-party firewall (if applicable)?
A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

Windows update error 80070490 - other corrections code do not work.
I have 9 updates, that I need to install it and I get the error code 80070490.
I did the following to try to address everything with no luck...(1) tried a system restore. Unfortunately this update has been tried and failed several times during the last few days, and each time it is automatically a restore point. So now I have no more old that won to restore restore points.2.) have tried updating system as indicated here preparation tool:Rebooted and still have the problem.2.) attempt to perform a repair with my Vista Ultimate DVD installation as described here:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80070490The problem is that I can't choose 'upgrade '. It is grayed out. The reason for this is that I can't upgrade to a version older than what I'm running now. My DVD is SP1 and I have since upgraded to SP2. I keep seeing this recommendation and it will not work for me.(3.) I deleted the "Software Distribution" folder and reinstalled the WindowsUpdateAgent.4.), I tried to use the Mr FixIt. It does not find that there is a problem with the windows update and then it tries to fix it. It runs corrections and says that it has attached to them. But when I close and re - run, problems are found and 'fixed' again. I have been through multiple cycles of Mr FixIt, restart, update, error, fixit, etc.. I also tried the fixit several times back to back running. Whenever he finds the problem, says it is fixed, but then when re-ran he finds the problem, said again and again this is corrected. This all started after uninstalling several pieces of software by using the control panel. I emptied several unused programs and uninstalled AVG Antivirus. Not sure if this is related or not, since that was a few days after uninstalling before I saw for the first time this error.I'm still having the problem. If you could point me kindly to specific files that need to be extracted for this error I would really appreciate it.I managed to solve this problem on my own. It turned out to be something with the above Japanese language pack. I uninstalled it and everything updated correctly. I thought I'd pass just in case someone else has the same problem.

Windows Update error Code 80071A2C
Hello
I had a problem with Windows Update. February 11, updates began to fail during installation. This has continued since and all updates failed have the error code 80071A2C. I googled this code error and looked on this forum, but there seems to be no useful information out there on this subject. Indeed, on other sites I've seen questions in this topic but no useful answer was given (http://www.vistax64.com/vista-general/109632-updates-configuring-fails-error-code-not-microsoft-site.html). I have a Dell XPS M1530, which is around the age of seven months. During the closure, I always try to install the updates, but the next time, when I turn on my computer again once it is said they might not be configured correctly and could not be installed. In addition, sometimes on startup my computer don't really lights up. It will go to a black screen where there is a mouse that cannot be moved. What happened a couple of times and I have to hit the power button several times to finally access the logon screen. In addition, a few times my computer restarts randomly while I was using it. I tried to install updates manually, and I only managed by installing an update on everything that has been published since February 11. Obviously these problems begin to add up, so I hope that nice people on this forum can enlighten me.
Thanks for your time!Hi Lyndsocat,
error code 80071A2C
The error code has two parts:8007 means that there is an error in COM +.
0x1A2C (6700, in decimal) is a standard Windows error defined in
Winerror.h:ERROR_INVALID_TRANSACTION
# The transaction descriptor associated with this operation is
# invalid. For example, a COM component is being a transaction and get a
invalid transaction handle (that is to say, a specific transaction ID number).Hope this helps a little, anyway.

Windows Update - error Code 80072F8F
Ok. So I am very anxious about my problem and after reading a lot of posts and various Microsoft support pages I have to insist that you are trying to copy and paste a generic useless solution that you throw all beginners. If you can't help, just don't post.
In any case, my last Windows successful update was August 3. The update was "Security Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2286198) ', and he succeeded. Since then, no main Windows settings have been changed and no software was installed. However, without apparent reason, I get the above error code (see the title of the topic) whenever I try to run Windows Update. My first instinct was to run a Google search on the error code. It produces the following two pages:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80072F8F
http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/system_maintenance_for_windows
I tried all the solutions offered by these pages, and nothing worked. My clock is well-ordered, and in sync with time.windows.com. I ran Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services. No dice. So I looked around on your beautiful forums here and found the following topic:
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/10acefdc-297F-4D14-9f5c-5a90250a8b8c
I tried to correct the problem by trying EVERY SOLUTION UNIQUE attributed to the user who created this topic, including resettlement certificates root to update and re-registering components (Softpub.dll, etc.) as suggested. I temporarily disabled my third-party security software (ESET Smart Security 4 and Yes, that my subscription is current and all my third-party software are up to date). Windows Update is the only feature which seems to be faulty on my machine. My internet connection is fine, loads pages without penalty in Firefox and Internet Explorer. I've rebooted more times than I can count.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Given that you're OS software costs as much, if not more than a cheap computer in itself and I consider a problem I can't solve (because the way I am a student a graduate of computer science in the former USSR) all unacceptable. The fact that, not being not able to update the OS effectively paralyzes my laptop thousand dollars, I am naturally very irritated. Stay in place beyond 04:00 trying to solve an operating system bug is not valuable my time use, and so all productivity more is lost I can simply opt to migrate from Windows altogether. Let me know if you need more information about the configuration of my. I hope you can help, because I enjoy not having to do a full reformat.
Your answers indicate that you can see the effects of a hijackare infection. That being said...
