Windows Update KB2286198

Windows XP Home Edition SP3 V.2002, AVG 9, Mcfee Personal Firewall Plus, Outlook Express 6.

Please can you help me?

After the installation of the update of windows KB2286198 my system was working 5 minutes before restarting itself. After the reboot, it displays a box error message "the system has recovered from a serious error". This happened several times during the day before, I uninstalled KB2286198.

I ran for a while after you uninstall then my screen went white (power which was on). The system remained running. The only way to return to the screen was to restart.

After a few minutes it is then restarts with the same etc system error message box.

I ran for a while then lost the use of Outlook Express 6. He would not go.

on 9 August, I decided to restore my system back a long way before KB2286198 and restored for 28/07/10 point system.

Throughout the day, everything seemed OK.

08/10/10 morning turned on system. It crashed 3 times in a row at the loading phase of the desktop icons.

The fourth time, he displayed the message box system has recovered from a serious error

The error signature:

BCCode:c2 BCP1:00000007 BCP2:00000 CD BCP3:BAFAFFFF 4 BCP4:00740072 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:3_0 production 768_1

Creating temporary files Mini081010 - 03.dmp & sysdata.xml

I don't know what to do next as clearly KB2286198 has had the BONE so that the restore points do not correct it.

I have to come back to my XP Home disk and try to run a repair or a new installation?

If so what do I lose?

Your urgent response would be appreciated.

I installed Microsofts all material and software update option and as you suggest reinstalled KB2286198 which could in a way, hopefully generating its own system repair.

If this isn't the case, I'll have to consider doing a clean install to clean.

Until today, his outfit to the top. I'll give him a few days to see what happens

Thank you for your help.

  • Windows Update for Vista (KB2286198) _

Everything from the lates Windows Update has been installeded for Vista (KB2286198)

I was not able to use my card to air with the Cradlepoint router.  The computer can see the router but only connect with local and non-local and internet access.  If I plug the modem from Verizon in the computer USB it will not work.  I have uninstall-ed the update and it works again with the Cradlepoint wireless modem.  Then, the update automatically installs again and I have the same problem.  What can I do to fix this?

First, uninstall again and then search for updates and it should appear.  Right-click on it to hide, and it will not be downloaded or installed or appear again (but you can still get in case of need if she and him to download and install-, but I wouldn't do that).  You will need to put it to manual and not automatic selection to do this.  So, try the following:

Try to download and install manually by download on your desktop and install them one by one. Insert the number of KB to get updates on the right and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx.

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 and disable your security software.  See if the installation works. However, once don't forget to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If that does not work, uninstall it again.

Also read and execute the steps ofhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.

  • Windows Update - error Code 80072F8F

Ok. So I am very anxious about my problem and after reading a lot of posts and various Microsoft support pages I have to insist that you are trying to copy and paste a generic useless solution that you throw all beginners. If you can't help, just don't post.

In any case, my last Windows successful update was August 3. The update was "Security Update for Windows 7 for x 64-based systems (KB2286198) ', and he succeeded. Since then, no main Windows settings have been changed and no software was installed. However, without apparent reason, I get the above error code (see the title of the topic) whenever I try to run Windows Update. My first instinct was to run a Google search on the error code. It produces the following two pages:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80072F8F

    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/system_maintenance_for_windows

I tried all the solutions offered by these pages, and nothing worked. My clock is well-ordered, and in sync with time.windows.com. I ran Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services. No dice. So I looked around on your beautiful forums here and found the following topic:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/10acefdc-297F-4D14-9f5c-5a90250a8b8c

I tried to correct the problem by trying EVERY SOLUTION UNIQUE attributed to the user who created this topic, including resettlement certificates root to update and re-registering components (Softpub.dll, etc.) as suggested. I temporarily disabled my third-party security software (ESET Smart Security 4 and Yes, that my subscription is current and all my third-party software are up to date). Windows Update is the only feature which seems to be faulty on my machine. My internet connection is fine, loads pages without penalty in Firefox and Internet Explorer. I've rebooted more times than I can count.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Given that you're OS software costs as much, if not more than a cheap computer in itself and I consider a problem I can't solve (because the way I am a student a graduate of computer science in the former USSR) all unacceptable. The fact that, not being not able to update the OS effectively paralyzes my laptop thousand dollars, I am naturally very irritated. Stay in place beyond 04:00 trying to solve an operating system bug is not valuable my time use, and so all productivity more is lost I can simply opt to migrate from Windows altogether. Let me know if you need more information about the configuration of my. I hope you can help, because I enjoy not having to do a full reformat.

  • Where on the home page click the Windows updates?

On Internet Explorer, you have a Security menu to scroll and click on windows updates.
    Where is it on Firefox?

    Hello

Windows Update is a updatesystem only for Microsoft products.

If you want to update Firefox to the latest version, you can do so by following these instructions.

  • Because Windows update (13/08/15) I can not install a toolbar on Firefox Robo

I have been using RoboForm for years without problem. However, last night, I ran the last Windows Update and this morning I had no Robo toolbar on my Firefox. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Robo and still no toolbar. I ran the restore windows at 08/08/15 and there was the fully functional toolbar. I went back to windows update and had the same problem again.

The toolbar may be hidden or the add-on is no longer compatible with Firefox. You right-click at the top near the address bar and to activate a specific toolbar. You can also check your list of Add-ons to see if it is listed as incompatible. Please note that you do not use beta, not everything may work correctly.

  • Why text is distorted after windows update and how can I solve this problem?

    Hello

This morning my windows vista made some updates. Subsequently the Firefix text is exampe is bad, sometimes unreadable, attached. The text is not bad in IE, but change the return isn't desireble. Text was OK before the reboot of Windows Update. Disable ClearType exacerbates the problem. I tried to reset as described on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems, no help.

    Data:
Acer laptop Travelmate (6 years), running fully updated Windows Vista, Danish language. Firefix 35.0.1.

    What to do next?

    Regards Lars Jensen

an option may be to tackle this particular update for now until there is a fix from microsoft or you could also look at if there is a graphics driver update available on the Web site of the seller (intel/amd/nvidia) which could also be solved this problem in some cases.
