    Hi B_Tan,

Please take a look at the following information previously published by TaurArian:

Some have reported that simply re-register the MSXML3. DLL seems to fix the problem.
    1. click on start.
    2. choose Execute.
    3. in the run box, type: regsvr32 MSXML3. DLL
    Press OK

If this did not help, you may be re-recorded some files more:

    1. click on start.
    2. choose Execute.
    3. in the run box, type (pressing well after each one): -.

    net stop wuauserv

    Repeat the following:
    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll
    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll
    regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wucltui.dll
    regsvr32 wuweb.dll
    Regsvr32 MSXML3.dll

  • Cannot install Windows updates! Also impossible to install 'Adobe Flash Player '.

My problem is quite simple, but the answer is no!  I can't download Windows updates. I get no error message. I press download and it's right there saying "Install updates" and continues for hours!  He was installing all night last night! I have followed almost all the threads in this section and tried everything that was recommended, but nothing has worked. And they want to install us Windows 7!  I just want Vista works properly!
Can I format my recovery disk "D"? I am running Vista Home premium on a Compaq presario laptop. I have also two adapters network with yellow!  next to them in the Device Manager. I tried to uninstall them but they relocate!

    bergkamp10,
Not knowing what you have tried here just a few items that you can see if you have already done.
    Reset the Windows Update components
    Solve Windows Update installation issues

    "Can I format my recovery disk"D "?
Yes you can.  Usually, the OEM factory restore option will automatically erase the drive.  You will need to check with Compaq on recovery methods they offer and how to access.

"I have also two adapters network with yellow!  next to them in the Device Manager. I tried to uninstall, but they relocate! »
Well, if you do a factory restore this issue should correct itself.  However, if you uninstall a hardware device, the system detects the device at startup it will attempt to reinstall.  If the network adapters are part of the motherboard you can turn them off via the BIOS.

  • Windows Update has stopped working - "files required to use Windows Update are longer registered or installed on your computer"

Please let know us where I should look for IE tools | Options Internet, etc.

    ALT + T + O | Programs (6 7 tabs, from left to right)

    ================================

Note: You can see the symptoms of an infection of hijackware due these Authentium & Norton or McAfee 'leftovers' were present on the computer for so long. It is possible that VIPRE Internet Security never installed or worked properly.

OK - ALT + T + O given the folder options, so I guess I should have used Internet Options in the Control Panel, who brought up the Internet properties display and tab programs showed IE as default browser.

All attempts to open IE, Firefox or even Outlook Express for that matter, fail, because apparently the boot did not go far enough to negotiate the internet connection, as the double-monitor icon is not shown in the system tray.

Local network connection status shows as OK, but without the traffic through it.

Any attempt to interact with the Internet Options Connection folder system crashes and tries to leave or cancel the result of process in the message "end program rundll32.exe".

    That is where she lies.

  • Cannot run Windows Update. Keeps saying to re-record the files but nothing helped.

Funny but I seem to just receive this error message when I run windowsupdate.com

"Files required to use Windows Update are longer registered or installed on your computer. To continue:

Click option 1: register or reinstall the files for me now (recommended)
Click on option 2: Let me read on other measures that may be required to solve the problem. »

By clicking on option 1 sets as it is something useful, then goes back to the screen Windows Update offering Express (recommended) or custom. Whichever you choose, it sends you back to:
"Files required to use Windows Update are longer registered or installed on your computer. "To continue:

By clicking on the option 2 doesn't send you a place that helps you solve the problem, it sends you to a screen where you can "SEARCH FOR YOURSELF" from scratch!

I tried a few solutions as re-register DLL files, but not to prevail. It has not changed.

I tried force windows update agent installation, but nothing works. It's really frustrating.

I am running on a Windows 2003 Std Edition Server. "I would have preferred direct product. Any day. And twice on Sunday. "Director Steven Spielberg

What are the files DLL have you tried re - record exactly?

Have you tried to register MSXML3?
    "regsvr32 msxml3.

You can also try to run the "sfc/scannow" command and let Windows try to repair system files.

1 disconnect from the internet and then try and install updates.

Try to manually download the same and install.
You can search the individual updates here:

He just put in the KB number and then perform a search.

If this still creates a problem, disconnect from the internet and then try to install updates, and another thing you can try is turn off UAC before downloading a first update manually. See: (Guided Help: settings to adjust user account control in Windows 7):

  • How to control the Windows updates are installed on the Windows Surface of RT

I recently had to perform a refresh to solve the problem with desktop on the desktop icons that appear as spaces. After the update, I had to reinstall the update for Office 2013. When I went to Windows Update to do this, I found it with a group of 9 other updates, these 9 were all marked as ready for download and installation, Office 2013 update is not checked. I disabled the office 2013 update and not the other 9 updates, thinking that I could make those after I had Office installed upgrading so I would like to know if my taskbar icon problem has been resolved. At the bottom of the screen even when the Office update was the only update checked I chose to install updates. The Surface actually installed all updates, not only the update of Office.

Is there a way to control which Windows updates are installed in fact at some point? Unchecking them made no difference.
