Windows vista 64-bit Defender encountered an error: 0x800705b4

Windows vista 64-bit Defender encountered an error: 0x800705b4. I am trying to start my defender and have been unable to accomplish this.  I tried to start the Defender Service service and Application and then turned off the Security Essentials again tried to start the program, none of these options worked on the start program.  I'm unable to find other options to get going.  (Oh, I've also updated my CODECS)  Thanks for your help.  Address Email Julie * retired privacy *.

Microsoft Security Essentials has its own integrated version of the defender and should automatically disable the version of Vista in Windows Defender.

If it's not:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

Turn Windows Defender on or off the information on the link above of Microsoft.

Hope the foregoing explains the common compatibility issues with Windows Defender and MSE.

As the version of Vista's Defender is not designed to work in conjunction with MSE, there is no point trying to start it.

See you soon.

  • "windows defender encountered an error: 0 x 80070424.

I could have caused this problem on my Vista Home Premium by stopping abruptly. Now, my defender service is turned off, and when I tried to turn it on, I got the following message:'

"Windows defender encountered an error: 0 x 80070424.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you!

I don't see how MSE/Defender might logically have caused a problem with the firewall, but let's try this... we know all two computers (and computer users) sometimes do strange things.

Make sure Windows Defender is disabled: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

Uninstall the MSE of control panel and if necessary, use this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2483120 to include running the Fix it Tool if you need to.

    Restart the computer.

Then reinstall MSE using an installation file fresh from here.  During the installation you expected to have the opportunity to market the Windows FW.   Give it a try.

If this does not work, you may need to try the MS Support.

    Good luck...

Yes, MSE turns off the Defender. Not only is there potential conflict, but
There is no reason to have both; MSE has essentially something of very
    similar to the Defender integrated.

    Hello

I have laptop HP HDX which had a sound problem with message of error "Could not play the test tone", tried in several ways by online suggestions and ended to reinstall the new copy with recovery disk. As part of the recovery with a reovery of HP drive, I tried to get it back and it formatted boot partiion and got this error message "error 1002 if the problem persists, please contact HP support. My laptop is out of warranty now.  I talked to HP support and they ask me to buy new drives recovery and someone in this forum mentioned that recovery disk will lift the same mistake and we would need to purchase technical support and even that has not worked for soembody after paying $ 200 to support. I am struck with recovery of the laptop now. I also tried the recovery partition revovering and gave rise to no luck.  I'm now out of warranty.

I am really fedup with bearing on my this laptop windows vista 64 bit HP HDX laptop problems. What is your best suggestion for me to recover my windows vista now?

    Thank you.

    GK

I ordered the drive to restore HP for $ 16 and I have no problem in my OS with this disk recovery. Recovery partition that came with my laptop had this error 1002 and he really tortured than me. It is recovered successfully with this new disc of recovery with on all issues.

I would have saved a lot of time, would not have had any stress and restore ($16) if HP disks price had built the free bug recovery partition.

I'll be very careful in buying HP products in the future.

  • get the 0x400110020000100b error code while making the recovery of the system for windows vista 32 bit.

I tried to do a system restore on my laptop using the included recovery disks and had this error 0x400110020000100B. The drive looked pretty beaten last week so I ordered a new series. Now, when I got to put disc 2 in (to 80% full) I get the same error.  I called customer service and he took me through the process of F9, nothing works and I also tried the F11 approach that made me not the case.  I'm frustrated because I don't really have the money for a new laptop computer.

Any help would appreciated more than you know.

    Hello:

See if you can make your own Vista installation disc if you can read the product key 25 character on the bottom of your laptop.

    Here's how:

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-Microsoft-Windows-v...

After you install Vista successfully, you can then install the drivers for your PC and driver page support.

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/how-do-i-manually-start-Windows-Defender-in-Vista/dab845b2-9ba5-47F3-9518-c4c6781e7d5b

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.

You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.

And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?

Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.
