  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I think that SP1 anyway). Last night June 17, 2011, update of Windows installed an update or updates. Now, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Windows Installer, Windows Sidebar, Panel, Windows Update and other Microsoft programs all fail. I get messages with various error codes.   I go to the website, download the latest updated driver and the problem is still there. I've installed the latest driver (the same) three times in a month, but the problem is still there.
  Another problem is that, after a few hours, my internet connection are not has high latency and then connect all the web pages until you restart. Connection in the bar bar icon indicates that the pc is connected to internet but I can not navigate on it. Is it because of the Ethernet controller?   If you have followed all the steps of procedure which you is given by Martin and continues to have the same problems, you should consider two other possibilities.  1. your equipment could be bad - you need to buy and install a new Ethernet controller (or have done by a service professional if you don't normally this sort of thing yourself).  or 2. Do a clean install of Vista.

  I no longer get an option to compress or decompress files in Vista.  How to restore this function?  I don't know how I have it turned off.

  I found the problem.  My Spybot had removed the Zipfldr.dll for zip files.  I don't know why, but I restored and it works fine now and Spybot was not considered a threat again.

  I tried to install my scanner software that works with my XP operating system and does not work with Vista.  Using the Epson Smart Panel software, I was able to scan slides and negatives as well as regular photos.  Is there some way I can load Epson Smart Panel and Epson Scan with Easy Photo Fix to my software disc software scanner Epson XP and then get Vista patches to make it work?

  I had problems with my task manager (I use the operating system "Windows Vista Home Premium"). Evertime I try to access the program, he returns with "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". But I use the product key legally reactivate Windows Vista Home premium but I have to say that the search for the driver for this laptop has not been easy, especially the pilot Wi - Fi that I had to go
