    My 32 bit Vista computer died - power, card mother etc. I have Acronis Disk full backups on a daily and external drive Acronis cloud of my files 'user '. What I don't have is a Windows Mail systems working group to export my old emails. When I run Thunderbird, are there emails in any way I can get these old backup, even if it means going from one place to another to get them.
    As a temporary measure, I am now on a Windows 7 64-bit system.
    If someone can help, but needs more information, let me know.
    Thank you.

    If your drag / drop off the mail will find themselves in some folder you \drop in.

    A better solution would be to use the add-on from the import export tools if you have several nested folders as it will import a folder and the subfolders. The add-on will recreate your folder structure. It you choose to import the messages in a folder and its subfolders.

  • Update for VISTA Business automatically leads to not being able to open the attachment in Windows Mail

    After an automatic update from Microsoft for VISTA Business on July 16, I now can't open attachments in the reading of e-mail messages in Windows Mail.  An error message indicates that the file is not found.  I have now to save all attachments and open my files before I read attachments.  It's very frustrating.  I had a similar experience, only a couple of weeks where a parameter is passed by an automatic update to VISTA leading to read all the emails being hidden from view.  I had never seen that before and it cost me £40 to get DELL Technical Support to sort for me.  Microsoft should not do this kind of thing are they?  Should I just revert to the original system (I have to pay DELL to do it for me) and just not allow Microsoft Update VISTA more.  I have my own business, no IT support and I want to just use my easy notebook for standard applications.  Nothing complicated.  I can't afford to waste time and money sorting on my laptop when I should run my own business in very difficult times.  Thanks to anyone who can advise me.

    I understand exactly what you're saying.

    Try this with updates to uninstall the problem and change the eo settings you decide what it is installed:

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
  • Can not save attachments in Windows Mail in Vista Local folders or subfolders
    I have a new Vista 64 system and I have actually two problems.  First of all, I can't move old emails (more 2 G total) of my XP Outlook Express email on my old laptop in Vista 64 - bit Windows Mail on my new desktop.  Files folders and the content may be downloaded, but have not been recognized and installed by Win. Mail.  I talked to several computer technicians who could not find a solution except either to send the emails from old files individually or as a group to myself to my server (Yahoo more).  Is there a better solution?  Secondly, when I send my self a such email with multiple attachments and I try to save, I can't find a thread that will lead to my Windows Mail > local folders > Inbox >(folders and sub-folders).  Nor can I drag-and - drop these saved emails (they contain many different endings) to these files. Help, please.
    Hello Mmmaltby,
    Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
    A common method to transfer everything via is to use the Export command in Outlook Express to save all messages and contacts to separate files, copy them to the Vista PC and then use the option import (on the file menu) to import the data into Windows Mail.
    If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need more help
  • Recover Contacts and emails of crushed Vista/Windows mail by car
    I was using a laptop with Vista and Windows Mail.  The laptop is dead, but I was able to recover the hard disk and connect to another computer via the usb port.  The intermediate computer has XP and Outlook Express or Windows Mail options.  How can I recover my emails and contacts I used in Windows Mail?  In the past when I change computers I export and import the new email client.  Because I can't open Windows Mail, I don't have this option.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Any questions about WLM should be asked in the forum dedicated to www.windowslivehelp.com you can ask about contacts there also.
  • How to export all my emails in Outlook Express in Windows XP to Windows Mail in Windows Vista?
    I am currently using Outlook Express with XP.  I also use a laptop with Vista and Windows Mail.  I'm trying to find all message files in my directory XP so I can copy some of these files and insert them into the Vista computer e-mail program.  I found the folder that contains multiple message folders, but I don't see not all message files.  When I tried to copy one of the files that I could see the Vista computer from XP to Vista and Windows Mail would not recognize the XP/Outlook Express file.  So, I need to know how to find all message files and how to copy one or more files from the XP computer to Vista computer.  Thank you
    original title: message files I want to copy mail
    Create Windows folders on the XP desktop. Open OE and OE folder and drag messages in office files. Copy these folders on Vista computer and place them on the Vista desktop. Open the folder and drag the messages into a folder of WinMail.
    Hello
    Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider); They provide your broadband / dial connection.
    They have the information you need to set your e-mail account
    Ask them to:
    1. your username with them
    2. your password with them.
    3 Incoming Mail Server POP3.
    4. name of the outgoing SMTP server
    5, etc.
    All the information you need comes from them, not Microsoft.
    It's the Microsoft guide to set up Windows Mail, after that you have the correct information to:
    7. Click everything - all accounts of users, files and settings (recommended) to migrate all files and settings. If you want to determine exactly the files and settings you want to migrate, click only my user account, files, and program settings, or click Customize.
  • When I try to copy the files from Windows Mail on Vista on a USB key I get the message "you are about to copy this file without its properties
    I move the file from my old PC which took place with Vista on a new computer running with Win 10 where I have Windows Live Mail is installed.  When I try to copy the files from Windows Mail on Vista on a USB key I get the message "you are about to copy this file without its properties".  After studying this issue on the forums, a proposed solution was to reformat the drive in NTFS format, I did.  This does not solve the problem.  Any suggestions?  Would it be OK in this case to ignore the message and copy the file without its properties?
    Well data files/user of vista should work. Yes a NTFS format is good, go to run, or cmd, type:
    diskmgmt.msc in msc, R.click on the material, delete the partition, create one, format. Use the default settings,
    Once thru, L.click the disk, go to actions, all, select 'enable '.
  • Reinstalling Windows Mail in Vista
    I accepted the invitation of Microsoft to install the beta version of Office 2010 and wish I hadn't. The reasons don't matter. What is important is that when I uninstalled it, it took Windows Mail with it. I searched Microsoft download sites to find one for WM, but fails. I found a download for Windows Live Mail, but when I tried to install it, it says it was already installed. But when I click on the start menu, the icon for e-mail is gray. I really want it my mail from the rear window. How can I do this? When I bought my computer, it came not with a Vista installation disc.
    Windows Mail is part of Vista.
    It comes with Vista, upgrade install and activate Forum.
    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    See you soon.
