  I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 Series (2008 model) cell, which was originally Vista but I installed Windows 7 Professional on this topic. I would now like to go back to Vista.

  I noticed that the "Windows.old" folder created on the c: / drive appears to be missing a lot of files and could have been modified since the date of that its creation. I think it would be too risky to use it to recover back to Vista.

• I had windows 7 x 64 enterprise installed on my HARD drive. now the company win 7 has expired, and I have to install win vista with sp1, but got a 0 x 80070017,.

  I can't format my HARD drive, but during a test partition, _X, who was only 26 MB in size of about was some sort created and vista tried to install instead of the main partition, partition (_: X) was created several times not by me, as I was using full disc for my installation.   How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

  There is no Vista free download legal available.

  Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

  Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

  If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  I could not find if it has been requested. Machine to Vista with Microsoft Security Essentials installed a few weeks ago. MSE became Windows defender off on install. OK, I get that.

  But the Defender being off is displayed in security alerts give me a red in the status bar. How to remove alert so point ray Windows Security Center stays green like should be' W Defender seems not installable.

  When you change from 32 bit to 64, it must be done by a clean install.  You can upgrade or replace.
