  • Windows xp Pro for PC refurbished - no product key invalid

A friend brought me their computer today. It is an IBM Netvista refurbished. They also gave me the CD alone, they got when they bought the computer from buy.com. This is a Windows xp professional (includes service pack 3) for the CD of PC refurbished, part No. x 14-66864. I did a repair of the computer installation and when we asked for a product key, I used that label alone cost I can find on the computer. It returns a valid product key message. I guess that's the original label of the CoA and not on its refurbished CoA label. I searched up down and all parts of outside the computer and open the case inside and sought for a renewed CoA label and is not a. Can anyone help me please with the activation of this installation of windows?

I ended up doing a clean install using the Belarc Advisor product key was extracted from the previous installation of windows refurbishment. Installation went great, but windows doesn't always have to activate using the product key for renovation. Given that it was a clean install with 30 days to activate, it has allowed me to connect and windows is working properly. I then used the Windows product key update tool Carey suggested and changed the product key to that of the old original CoA label on the side of the case. Then finally activated, windows and I can now use windows update.

    Relax and breathe.

FIRST: Uninstall IE8 and IE7 if they are installed.  Back to all the way back to IE6.  You want other patches before you get those.  Reboot after doing this.

You are not the first to ask questions about how to upgrade a clean Windows XP - not even installation in the last week. In fact, I will just cut and paste my answer here... here:

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

  • Where can I download Windows 7 Pro ISO? I have the product key

Where can I download Windows 7 Pro ISO? I have the product key

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-1E6: Windows 7 Pro for Windows 8.1 Upgrade Pro

    Hello

My laptop came with pre-installed Windows 7 Pro and also accompanies the disks to upgrade to Windows Pro 8.1, when I restart the laptop the optical drive with the disk Windows Pro 8.1 in there doesn't seem to be options for the upgrade of Windows, it's rather just the generic tools for backup/recovery of the laptop and install Windows 8.1 Pro is not mentioned anywhere.

Am I missing something? I have to format the laptop in order so that it can resume the process of Windows 8.1?

The laptop seems to be picking up the drive Windows Pro 8.1 because the interface is similar to that of Windows 8 (when the choice of region/keyboard) but as I said than just default to repair the existing installation without any option to upgrade.

    See you soon,.

    Paul

    > Am I missing something? I have to format the laptop in order so that it can resume the process of Windows 8.1?

You have VICTORY 8.1 PRO 64-BIT DVD disc.
I think that is NOT an upgrade disk, but using this installation disc, the system (Win 8.1) will be installed on the HARD drive and this procedure could get rid of Win 7

So before you try to install Win 8.1 I recommend creating Toshiba recovery media as described in the user manual. Read it!

After the middle of the recovery (disk or UBS flash stick) has been created, you could boot from the 8.1 WIN 64 bit PRO DVD to start the installation!

  • Two drivers Windows XP Pro for Satellite A100-233 are missing

I had to load Windows XP Pro on my A100-233 and 2 drivers are missing. For "Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus" & "SM Bus controller". Some of the function of substitute on top don't work or the other. For example the brightness, Wi - Fi and other facilities.

The icon of the "SRS TruSurround XT" on the Quick Launch bar is also absent. Where can I find these drivers?

Just one thing: you are able to create own Tools & Utilities CD for the installation of the OS more far but obviously you forgot. When the unit is Toshiba Assist factory settings, you can start and under protection & Fix you can find the option to do this.

When you have own Tools & Utilities CD, it is much easier to install own OS. In any case everything what you need you can find on the download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support.

It is very important to install everything in the order of good facilities. Because of this you can also download the instructions facilities document. Please check and install all the things listed there.
