Windows XP Tablet Edition

I have a tablet pc. Windows XP is very slow, so I want to reinstall it. I have a Windows XP CD and the Tablet also has the serial number on the back. Is there a way to upgrade from Windows XP Pro to Win XP tablet edition?

Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade or reinstallation of Windows.

  • Where to find Win XP tablet Edition 2005 for Portege M700-106

    Hello.

Can I find somewhere on the Web of Toshiba Windows XP tablet Edition 2005 with drivers full sites
(for example: Recovery DVD with XP) download to laptop Toshiba Portege M700/106?

Where can I download the AHCI drivers for laptop Toshiba Portege M700-106?

I want to install Windows XP on my book, but I don't know how!

    Thank you

    Hello

    > Can I find somewhere on the Web sites of Toshiba Windows XP tablet Edition 2005 with complete drivers
(for example: Recovery DVD with XP) download to laptop Toshiba Portege M700/106?

You can find only a Windows XP tablet edition drivers on the European driver Toshiba page! But you won't find a Windows XP tablet Edition 2005 OS for download!
You can buy a clean OS and then you could install the Toshiba drivers downloaded to the laptop.

PS: I put t know what OS came preinstalled on your M700 but especially a Toshiba Recovery, CD/DVD should be bundled with the laptop.

  • Recovery disc install XP Tablet Edition instead of Vista Ultimate?

I like my Lenovo X 61 Tablet, but have always found Windows Vista to be morose. I used the recovery disk when I got the laptop to do a fresh install of Vista and enjoyed the configuration options. The result is a much cleaner system.

I just downloaded Windows 7 RC 1 and was excited to try it. I have installed a pure (reformatting, etc) on the machine and the things installed correctly, but the driver installation process was tedious. I decided it would be a better idea to do a new installation of Vista, and then upgrade to Windows 7. I was a bit disappointed as the options configuration (this software to install, etc.) doesn't seem to be available, this time, but I let it slide.

You can imagine my surprise when the completed Lenovo recovery disks and... I had Windows XP Tablet Edition!

I have no idea what happened. There is only one machine Lenovo in my house, the discs are clearly labelled 'Lenovo' and "Thinkpad X 61 Tablet."  I can't find any occurrence of this on Google, and I'm going to lose my mind!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I called Lenovo, which has been extremely fast and helpful support. Here's what we believe which is past...

My previous recovery never actually used disks; I had pressed the "Thinkvantage" button, assuming that he initiated from the CD in the drive, when in fact he used the recovery partition, which takes my Vista Setup correctly.

The recovery partition has been erased when I did a clean install of Windows 7. It forced me to actually use the recovery disks, which have been set up in error with XP Tablet Edition.

Lenovo decided to send me replacement discs, which I assume will work (although I'll post an update if they are not). I just wanted to keep this post updated in case anyone out there has this whimsical event, a coincidence.

    Hello, Disaksen,

Who should download the installation diskettes? You must download the installation diskettes if all the following conditions are met:
    • You install a new version, full of the retail Windows XP.

Note An upgrade to Windows XP installation does not require the installation diskettes.

    • You have a working CD drive, but you cannot start your computer from your CD-ROM.

  • Portege M700 - need drivers for Windows XP Home edition x 64

    Hello

    I recently bought a Portege M700
It comes preinstalled with Vista on the disc.

Now, I got an original Win XP x 64 and all my programs are not really compatible with Vista. If I want to install Win XP x 64.
I have install Windows XP Home edition x 64, but there are no drivers for it, only for drivers vista and Windows XP tablet pc edition.

Is it possible to find the drivers for Windows XP Home edition x 64?

Someone at - it already had a problem like this one?

in any case thank you already for the answer.

    Hello

I doubt that you can get 64-bit drivers for Windows XP for this laptop from the Toshiba driver page.
I didn t find drivers for Windows XP 64 bits for Toshiba laptops.
Why? I think the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular like Win XP 32 bit and most of the applications have been designed for XP 32 bit OS.

If install you XP 64-bit on this computer, you will have to look in the various 3rd party Web sites for the compatible drivers

    Good luck

  • I installed Windows XP Home Edition. Can not find the wireless network drive

I installed Windows XP Home Edition on my spare PC.  Now I have wireless network card in the computer and problems to find the drivers for it, and I don't know what brand it is, so I know it's kind of makes it harder too.  Then I also have to start the computer, but if I press F1, the computer starts well

I was just wondering how can I get rid of this?

Disable all devices that can connect to your router (wired or wireless)...

    • PCs
    • Laptops
    • Tablets
    • Smartphones
    • Smart TV
    • Printers
    • Networked storage
    • Another thing that I have not mentioned above!

Put on your router and wait for the normal light distribution. Then turn on all devices.

I hope that your ip address conflict went away. Generally ip conflicts can happen when the router is running again without doing the same with all devices later.

If you have even an ip address conflict, it is possible that you forgot something above or can someone use your router without your knowledge.

Your router's wireless network is secure? Ideally with WPA2 encryption?

    Hello CLo1,

You might want to review this KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327160 it lets you know that if you have the Tablet edition then the professionals features are already installed (the Tablet edition was essentially an add-on for professional)

To answer your questions on the COST it only allows the use of this version of Windows, you still need the original disks to have the features available in the edition of the tablet.

  • Windows XP Tablet PC / professional - touch screen does not

    Hello-

I recently had an earlier version of a tablet pc. When you turn it on it say that Windows XP Professional is installed, the sticker on the bottom said, however, that it came originally with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. I contacted the manufacturer and they said that it is certainly the cause of the touchscreen doesn't work do not.

Is there an add-on that I can download to fix? If this is not the case, how can I download the OS to create a restore cd? I'll contact the technical support, but they charge you $50 before you even e-mail. Thank you!

    Hi MissRanda,

Unfortunately, you cannot buy Windows XP Tablet PC Edition separately because Windows XP Tablet PC Edition has specific hardware and it can only be obtained pre-installed on a Tablet PC computer.

For more information, see this link.

However, you can contact your computer manufacturer to get the restore for the particular model of tablet PC installed disks.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.
