Windows xp unattended profilesdir programfilesdir

I have netbook with ssd of 4 GB for the windows installation.
I need to reinstall so documents and settings is on the main hard drive (100 GB) and program files are also on the main drive.

got my installation of xp, and I extracted the iso on real file with winrar, sought WINNT.sif
I put the following commands in the unattandedgui section: ProfilesDir = D:\
ProgramFilesDir = D:\
then I took the file and reconstruction with imgburn and I got the iso published to start.
So what installation came, I chose to install on ssd 4 gig, installation was fine, then reboot, error came to say: configuration configuration log damaged, please provide more error information. and another error that I forgot.
I tried with two other copies of windows that I had, but it still does not work?
How can I change the windows installation unattanded to change profiles dri and prgoram files dir to the different path?

I already read the article on the profiles dir and it did not help.

NOPE! It installed fine, and now it is stuck in an ANOTHER infinite boot loop! (This laptop must love restart all the time).

So yes, this is what he does now.

It starts normally with the typical screen of Vista (the puke green bar fly across the screen). Then it comes up with the screen blue-green pretty fancy, and it says "Please wait while Windows continues to set up your computer...". »

    Also, try this:

Try using a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • get this pop up message "a necessary component of the Windows Media Center has not started properly. Restart Windows Media Center.

    Original title: Windows Media Center

Whenever I try to add videos (or whatever it is) on my media center it will not add and I get this pop up message "a necessary component of the Windows Media Center has not started properly. Restart Windows Media Center.

And I restart it, but it still gives me the same thing whenever I'll add things. I also have the Extender for my xbox 360 and video flies never show there either. A few moments ago, I got this working with my xbox and everyhting showed, now it gives me fits. Can someone please help

    Try this for me:

    Task Scheduler (Local)-> library of Task Scheduler-> Microsoft-> Windows-> Media Center-> MediaCenterRecoveryTask

If this does not work, try this:

    1. open regedit by clicking on the start menu and type "regedit" in the search box and clicking on the link of the regedit program that opens.

    2. go in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

    3. click on the file --> export and save a copy of this portion of the registry where you can find later if you need IT.

4 Note the values in the column of data to "ProgramFilesDir" and "ProgramFilesDir (x 86(). (If you have only one of those that, don't worry. I think that only users of Windows 64-bit will have both, but I don't know.)

    5. If you have a standard installation of Windows, the right for "ProgramFilesDir" column should read "C:\Program Files" and the right column for "ProgramFilesDir (x 86) ' should read"C:\Program Files (x 86)"." If they are not, try changing them to these values. To do this right click on the name in the left column and selecting Edit. Copy the 'correct' value of this message in the data value field in the box that opens. Click OK , and then do the same for the other (if you have two).

    6. RESTART. It will not work until you restart your computer.

    7. Open Windows Media Center and see if the problem is resolved.

  • Is it possible to change the recovery CD?

My question is used, I can change the contents of the recovery CD as I wish?

I'm not happy with the recovery CD as it is full of tiny applications that do that my slower Tablet (even if I uninstalled software and tools, the registry will be always full and heavly loaded) so what I need is a new installation of the operating system with the necessary content (in fact, some drivers only).

I have my own windows XP Professional CD and I managed to install it, but the touchscreen does not work because it is not a tablet PC edition.

    all ideas will be useful.

I have an idea that works very well, but I'm stuck
at any given time. There is a tool called nLite, it is
It's work is to create a windows XP unattended and without
Installation CD. There the i386 folder
from the windows you have, and this is exactly my problem.
How can I get the folder i386 Windows XP Tablet PC edition
    on the recovery CD?
Is it a Ghost tool that does this?

    Hello

    > My question is the usual; can I change the contents of the recovery CD as I wish?
No, the image of Toshiba which is placed on the recovery of Toshiba CD is secure and you will not be able to open this image.

    Regarding the tool nLite;
I know that this tool and I used it to implement the XP service Pack 2 because my original CD of Win XP Pro was delivered without SP2.

As you said that the files in the i386 folder are needed.
This folder, I found on my XP CD and in Windows OD on the HARD drive.

On my laptop it s placed in the folder.
    Cache C:\Windows\Driver-> about 109MB
    C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles-> about 490MB

There is also another way to create a clean restore CD.
You can remove all the tools is not necessary and utility of the operating system that is installed, and then create a clean image with Norton Ghost utility file.

But please note that the laptop supports various features such as the i.e.FN. keys
All Toshiba preinstalled programs are necessary if you want to use all functions of the laptop!

    Good bye

  • Invalid response file

I am trying to charge my cell phone and after all is finished and loads of windows for the first time that he comes up with an error "Windows cannot parse or process unattend [C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] answer file in the answer file is invalid." The error was detected in the column of the row 9 222 of the answer file. "I replaced the hard drive and it wont let me go into safe mode as the installtion is not complete. Any help please

You use an installation with an answer file to configure the system as you wish?  If there is a problem with the answer file, then you will need to do a normal installation instead of one without supervision and thus circumvent the answer file.  You have the means to do so?  How is made installation - on DVD or on a network?  You have another program for unattended Setup that you can use or is it only available?  Do you know how to fix the error in the answer file if you have access to and can make changes?  If you can not enter the system in safe mode or normal mode, the only way is through to boot from a CD/DVD.  I don't know if the command prompt on the drive of Installation of Vista will help, but it can be a way to access what is on the hard drive.  I don't know what you hope to accomplish with access to the system partially installed in any case.  It seems to me you need to do another installation using a NORMAL process, so not to interfere with the answer file.  If you still want to participate, here are two options that might work.

If you do not have a disc, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (using another computer).

You can use Knoppix http://www.knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html with a good ISO as Copier: http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm as well as a blank CD (yet once done from another computer.  This should give you enough access to the system so you can be able to fix the problem with the answer file (if this will help at this stage - since I do not know how to restart the installation where he had failed.  You will probably need to reboot again, but this time you must correct the answer file before you start or do a normal installation without using an answer file.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

If information is needed, please let me know.

    Thank you!

Not sure what was broken, but I built another image captured with MDT 2013 and details began to Imaging without problem.

The differences between the captured images were:

    • inscription on the installation of JRE 32 bit
    • change in the licensing model on the installation of Office (from MAK to KMS)
    • software updates since last build - which would have been patches of January and February.

Still, I don't think that the differences above would have corrected the problem - but nevertheless, I'm now building systems of precision without problem.

  • Sysprep with the answer file

I used sysprep/Imagex without problem.  You wanted to change the default profile, so I went to windows 7 in Audit mode.  I created an answer file.  After sysprep when the pc enters the installation program, I see an error message about could not find or process the unattend file.  I am including the below xml answer file and also the file from the directory of the Panther setuperr.log.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Anwser file for HP OEM Installation OOBE does not.

    Goodday,

I need to deploy 20 HP Workstation Z210 around my business.

I have prepared an Z210 I like too. Then I did Sysprep on the Windows 7 Installation.

With Windows deployment services, I took the image off the power.

Now I have a good image for the 19 Z210.

I had an answer for the OOBE file.

But the problem I have is that the HP OOBE ask with Windows language I want.

And I can not find the right answer for this in Windows System Image Manager.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I have no personal experience with sysprep and answer files without assistance for OOBE but this thread phpcs.com entitled "Windows 7: Unattended Windows OOBE after Sysprep", may be what you're looking for. ' "

  • Customizing OS error

I have a script that I run against my Production and development environments to automate the generation of servers from a template.

    The code is:

    $vcenter = to connect-VIServer $vcenterName

    $vHost = get-VMHost-name $vmHost
    Get-OSCustomizationSpec-name $osCustomization | New-OSCustomizationSpec-name "oscustTEMP" - Type not persistent
    Get-OSCustomizationSpec-name 'oscustTEMP ' | Get-OSCustomizationNicMapping | Game-OSCustomizationNicMapping - IpMode UseStaticIP - IpAddress SubnetMask - $subnetMask - passerelle_par_defaut $defaultGateway $ipAddress - Dns $dns
    $vTemplate = get-Template-name $vmTemplate
    $vDatastore = get-Datastore-name $vmDatastore
    $vFolder = get-file-name $vmFolder

    New-VM-name $vm - model $vTemplate - OSCustomizationSpec "oscustTEMP" - location $vFolder - VMHost $vHost - data $vDatastore store - confirm: $false
    Start-VM VM - $vm - RunAsync

    Disconnect-VIServer $vcenterName - confirm: $false

When I run the present against the Production environment virtual machine builds fine, but when I run it against my development environment and after the vim.event.CustomizationSucceeded I get the following error on the virtual computer:

"Windows could not parse or treat [C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml] unattended Setup answer file to pass [oobeSystem]. Apply the settings specified in the answer file ACITN. The error was detected when processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]. »

However, I do a deployment of the model and select the same OS customization manually I do not get the above error and it works. It seems as if it may be a problem with the New OSCustomizationSpec?

Any help would be greatly appreciate, please let me know if I need to provide more details. The two environments are vCenter 5.1, 1123961.

I think I found the problem

in the error screen if you press SHIFT + F10, you will go to the cmd there prompt access c:\windows\partner and unattended.xml. I found that the clear text password has been marked true but password was actually in encrypted form. the work was about. Export the custSpec change the clear text password and mark the header as true and execute personalization again. I hope this will solve your problem. It worked for me
