    Mill of salvation,

The security updates that fail are for Windows XP, Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2. This behavior can occur if the .net Framework files are corrupted or if all parties third party applications into conflict with Windows updates.

You use Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system?

    Method 1:
I suggest to fix the .net Framework, then try to install updates again. Check if it helps.

Note: try the steps listed in method 2: Repair of the .net framework.

See the link below to fix the .net Framework.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Now try to install the updates and check if it helps.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, I suggest you to set up your computer in a clean boot state and install the updates manually. Check if it helps.

Step 1: Set up the computer in a clean boot state.

Affecting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Step 2: Manually download the updates from Microsoft Download center.
