Wire collection satellite A210-17R (PSAFG) XP driver

Hello

After realizing that my new NB does not come with all the drivers AT ALL, I started searching the web for the work of the drivers for Windows XP.

I'll use this thread to post links to these drivers, so that enemies of Windows Vista can use their laptop with Windows XP.

I hope we can figure it all out one by one. I'll start posting links tonight, when I'm at home and I have the links.

Ben

Very good idea.
I am looking forward to XP drivers that are compatible with the A210 series.

By the way; We waited as the XP driver for the A200 series. It took several times until all the XP drivers have been released, but ultimately we all.

Looks like we have to wait a little longer until the official drivers will be released

  • Satellite A210-17R: power management automatically changes to the default settings

    Hello

I have a Satellite A210-17R with Win XP SP2. Works pretty well, except for the power management settings (they might call energy Mgmt., I don't know, cause Im using a German language version, so all the terms I use are translated from German).

I am connected with my user name with administrator rights, then this isn't the common thing, where you cannot change the power mgmt based on your user status. I can actually change any settings (when disable hard drive and screen and so on, knowing what to do when the lid is closed), but somehow she maintains herself reset default settings. I tried to remove all the profiles of power except one, but still... keeps resetting. Ive tried to save the changes, eteinde, save the settings and the mashine completely but anyway even if not instantly (and I did not understand a pattern yet) it maintains the default reset.

Its very annoying cause, I would leave on my laptop at night to download stuff, but I want to close the lid during the night and when I open the lid again in the morning, the day before on.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

As much as I know Satellite A210 isn't always supported WXP. What GST version you have installed on your A210?

Until that Toshiba does not offer tested WXP tools and utilities, you can face more similar questions. In any case, you can try to use Windows XP Home edition power options and check the functionality. Maybe it will work well.

  • Satellite A210-ICO - what HARD drive I can use?

I'm getting bad sectors on the hard drive of my laptop, so I guess I should pay for a new one – but who are able to A210-1CO?

    TA, M

    Hello

Satellite A210 uses SATA hard drives and you need a new HARD drive with SATA interface. You can buy each HARD drive you want, for example 160 or 320 GB. On interface SATA there is no capacity limit.

In addition, most SATA HDDs have already SATA2 interface but its compatible downgrade to SATA1.
I would have preferred a HARD disk at 5400 RPM. Of course, you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, but they produced more heat and noise. For most of the applications are pretty 5400 RPM.

I have good experiences with Hitachi and Seagate hard drives.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR) - how to upgrade the BIOS?

    Hey guys,.

I'm happy with my Satellite A210-19Z (PSAFGE-05P00KGR), but I had some problems with the Energiesaving Mode on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
I read on the internet that a BIOS update would be useful on the download site there is only 1 update of the BIOS and that includes WinPhlash but WinPhlash does not work on Vista or Windows 7.

Because there is no other update tools on the host and my machine was delivered with the Vista operating system. Because of this, I created a bootable usb key with phlash16.exe and the 'm10a190.rom' I've renamed "bios.wph" on this subject.
When I start BACK and enter ' phlash16/x', my laptop starts the Application and I see a progressbar crossing. After perhaps a second I see the main menu of Phlash16 but it freezes until I am able to do something (the keyboard doesn't respond when I press a button).

Do you know what I did wrong, or is it not possible to update my BIOS?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to receive your reply soon.
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

I also checked the Web from Toshiba site for BIOS update on a series of Satellite A210 PSAFGE and it shows an update to BIOS version 1.90. This update is based on Windows and it will appear on all versions of Windows (XP, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64-bit). So perhaps you can explain what you mean with it doesn't work under Vista. You get an error message?

I understand that the update doesn't work on Windows 7 because at the moment are no drivers available for this system in that time so the update should only be done on XP or Vista. I put t understand why try to Flash the BIOS in DOS mode. It's really risky and you can destroy the ROM module in the worst cases.

I did also update the BIOS on my laptop, I did:
-Update the BIOS on a Toshiba preinstalled OS
-J' was logged in as an administrator
-J' closed all the running background processes and programs, also the antivirus, firewall and internet connection
-J' extracted all the files to zip archive and start the update has been done successfully.

    I hope I could help you! :)

  • Satellite A210-ST0 - wireless LAN driver does not work

I recently reformatted my laptop with windows XP, and I have all the drivers working except the wireless Lan driver.
I got the driver from the toshiba page and this is the XP driver. I install it, but the computer still does not recognize that the map has a pilot (appears as a question mark in the Device Manager) does anyone else have this problem? is there another place to get the driver?

PS: I'm pretty good with computers, I just need the driver file and can installed with on an EXE file

    Hmm

What page of the driver Toshiba did you use for the download of the driver?

As I m not wrong not the * Satellite A210 - ST0 PSAFGC * is a Canadian series and therefore, it would be desirable to use the Canadian page for the download of the driver!

    Check this box:
    http://support.Toshiba.ca/support/download/ln_byModel.asp

The WLan card chip could come from Realtek or Atheros.

Last but not least, you should check your BIOS version. If the latest version is available on the Canadian page and then try to update!

    Good luck

  • Satellite A210-16F - screen need driver for XP

    Please help me.

I need the display driver for Satellite A210 - 16F WXP (ATI Radeon HD2600).

    Hello

Satellite A210-16F belongs to the PSAELE series and that's why you can find all the drivers on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

For the PSAELE are not display XP drivers available, but you can try the driver for another model A210. It should work too!

I'm from the Ukraine. Translator of translated text)

Sorry mate but it of very difficult to understand your message.
I understand it is that you have a BIOS problem.

BIOS is a very serious problem with the BIOS are not easy to solve since in most cases the EPROM the module where the BIOS is stored must be re-flashed using the special disc of crisis of the BIOS. In the worst case, there could be a severe motherboard issue and this means that the motherboard needs to be replaced.

If the laptop would have no Toshiba start screen pass, the POST (power on self-test) could not be passed and that means that there must be serious hardware problem.

Unfortunately, some question requires additional assistance of technician.

  • Satellite A210-12U - DVD RW drive will recognize the DVD but no CD

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite of 4 years (model: A210-12U) that I recently restored using the recovery CD - it running Vista SP2.

Please bear with me as this may be an ish story, but it helps to explain my problem.
Around a year ago, a virus has made its way onto my laptop and almost destroyed the BONE - I consider myself to be fairly knowledgeable software-wise after studying at the College and began the long process of trying to resolve my laptop without using the recovery CD.

It was a patch job, but after a month or two, I had it works again and it was fine for a period of a few months or so, before, I noticed that my DVD RW drive would no longer read or burn CDs. I spent hours trawling internet forums to help without a bit of luck and was eventually convinced that it was a hardware problem.

As I needed to use a CD burner, my cousin gave me his DVD - RW USB drive and it did not work, which means that the logic suggested that it wasn't a physical problem with the drive, rather that it was most likely a problem with the registry/OS. It was not surprising given that I had done a basic work patch following the infection by the virus a few months earlier.

After becoming more and more frustrated with my laptop in general, I backed up my data on a portable hard drive and used the recovery CD that came with my laptop. The laptop started the CD when he was outside of the OS (according to the instructions that came with it) and restored all of the computer to its original state (and solve many of the problems that have been caused by the virus in the process).

I have spent the last week re - install programs, the copy of backdata etc. and was trying to install a software on a CD today, when I noticed that the laptop had difficulties to access the disk. Explorer Windows knows that the drive is there; It is listed in 'My Computer' and will also be the small CD icon alongside the pointer when it tries to load the CD - suggesting that he knows that there is a CD in there.

However, the drive will still read DVD that suggests, it could be a physical problem with the drive itself (I read somewhere on the laser need to change its angle accordingly during playback of CDs and DVDs). I have a question though, what the computer was able to read the recovery CD when I was being a complete restoration (and that she felt the same difficulties of CD playback in Windows before restoration).

I tried all the suggested methods in similar posts on this forum - Microsoft Fix It, uninstall the drivers etc nothing helps... So yes, I am a little confused and wonder if anyone can help?

The DVD RW drive is listed in Device Manager as HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA Device.

    Thank you
    Ben

    Hi Ben

In my opinion, this is material junk. You're right about the position of the objective. It needs to be calibrated for CDs and DVDs. If the optical disc drive cannot read one of these media in general, it can be problem of lens calibration.

To be honest sides for this old A210 are cheap and more. I advise you to buy a new or used one on eBay. Exchange and test functionality.
To be honest I don't believe there is a trick that can help you get it working again.

  • Satellite A210 ATI Mobility Radeon driver crashes

    Hi all

Recently I had to update my graphics driver because one couldn't DirectDraw. So I uninstalled the old driver and downloaded the driver from the Toshiba website (the driver prescribed by thosiba for A210-10Y).

I installed the new driver, which went well. I had to reboot my system and then the driver worked fine, but the problem now is to s uncertain time (during playback of games or what so ever) the screen goes green, blue, gray and yellow with stripes.

When this happens, the whole system grinds to stop and there is no way to regain control of the system (CTRL + ALT + DEL or windows button does not). The only solution is to reboot the system with the button ON / OFF.

Here is the information that I could find, with problem-solving option on vista, so much, that this program is not able to give me a clear answer, other than to download the latest drivers from ATI or Toshiba site.

    Signature of the problem:
    Name of the threat: BlueScreen
    OS version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3

Could someone please give me a solution, I'm looking for answers on the internet for 7 days now, and still I was not able to find a solution.

I tried different ways to install the drivers, uninstall them and reinstall them, even tried the Modder and the new CCC 8.1 program

I thank very you much in advance! :)

Not easy to say why the graphics card driver crashes maybe there is a problem of compatibility with different games, who knows

Maybe you can try to install a graphics driver on 3rd part as www.omegadrivers.net site

But note; Some people in this forum, said that these drivers can be used only at your own risk because these drivers are not tested by the notebook computer manufacturing.

  • For satellite A210-1AS wireless LAN driver

    Hello

The system of Toshiba TEMPO attracted my attention on a Wireless LAN Vista for my Equium A210-1AS driver update. I downloaded it, but it is an Atheros driver, while the properties of the wireless connection show the wireless device or a device Realtek RTL8187B driver RTL8187B.sys.

It's not really obvious why an Atheros driver would be relevant.

    Any suggestions?

I just followed suggestion for you: If the WIFI worked well and you have no problems it leave it as what and enjoy your life. Nobody says that it must always be updated. I use my laptop almost 6 months without updates and it works well.

  • Need the drivers Windows XP for Satellite A210 - 17 (PSAFGE)

    Hello

where can I find drivers for my new A210-17 WXP?

    Thx for the help

    Hello

Windows XP edition drivers family for different models of laptops A210 is the very current theme and before posting something you can check search option to see if there is some existing similar thread.

By using this option, I found this http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=103691

    Check it out!

  • Satellite A210 - 158 PSAFGE recovery disk

I bought my laptop a year ago. In the first week, I want to make a backup copy of my recovery disk.
But I could not because he gave me a read error.
I went back to the shop where I bought explaining recovery disk is not functional.
They changed my drive, but with this I have the same problem.

I accidentally deleted my computer recovery software and now I'm not able to create a disc with Recovery Disc Creator.

    My question is:
If someone has purchased the same model in Spain can he make me a picture of the copy and upload it to rapidshare?
I don't want to buy another copy of [https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/] only because toshiba provided my a good drive.

If you still have this damaged disc bring it to the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and let check the disc. If there is a problem, and they can check it, I'm 100% sure that you will get a new free of charge.

  • Satellite A210-downgrade from VISTA to XP Pro SP2 - unknown base system device

I recently bought a laptop. On the Toshiba product page, it is listed as Satellite A210-199 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3). If I followed the link to the drivers page, he is listed as Equium A210 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3).

the laptop came with VISTA Home premium, I don't like / want, but works perfectly. After complete installation of Windows XP SP2 home edition Professional, (latest updates, all the drivers of Toshiba home page, etc.), hardware device Manager lists a "DEVICE BASIC SYSTEM" under "system devices", for which he cannot find drivers (Yes, it automatically searches on the internet and that did not help either).

I tried to uninstall the device and restart it, just to see what happens. And I got the ball from the standard taskbar with 'new hardware found '. Windows still do not find the drivers for it, and it still lists as a yellow exclamation in the hardware device manager. The only difference is that now he is no longer in the "system devices" section, but instead, it's an "unknown device" in the "other devices" section (you know, the big icon question yellow mark)

After a thorough cleaning is reinstalled, it is always an "unknown device" under the heading "other devices."

EDIT: maybe I should also mention that when I install graphics and sound card, says windows drivers I changed some important system files and I have to put the original cd with kit WXP SP2.

Have you installed all the drivers provided on the European driver Toshiba page?

I mean divers for card reader controller, AMD processor driver, Driver Modem, infrared Driver, etc.

    Please check all these drivers!

  • Satellite A210 - 17 X-PSAFGE 03600LFR - upgrade DVD-RAM

    Hello

I currently have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A210 - 17 X - PSAFGE-03600LFR, after the upgrade level of RAM and HARD drive, I would need help to update my DVD-RAM. The original CARPET * a (Panasonic) DVD - RAM UJ-870 doesn't work anymore, because the laser cell seems to be damaged, it will not recognize any disk if the CD-ROM or DVD and firmaware update provided by the assistance of Toshiba Europe has not changed anything.

Because I need to replace, I would rather install a newer, more efficient, quieter model, but I'm having trouble to find this replacement.

First, the front "façade" of the current unit is smaller on the right side than on the left most pattern that I find have a rectangular "sham" - that is both sides have the same size, so it does not fit into the laptop. Is that the "bezel" so that I could take the old Chase and put it on the new?

Someone would be able to provide me with assistance to choose the correct replacement drive?

    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

    Eric
