Wireflash disk formatted to El Captain HFS / HFS +.

Just formatted disc in HFS / HFS + and status, it is said that it is not supported. Is their an update of firmware that can solve this problem?

I just reformat the drive to its original format. Works like a charm on iOS9 on my iPhone 6 S more.

I already posted this on another thread as I thought it might be appropriate here but this thread is already marked as answered may be missing, so I repost below.

I've been thinking for a little while on a 2 WD to My Book Studio that I bought recently.

I have been using the Macdrive software for years and I love it! However, being a user of desktop for a long time I have never used one of my external hard drives in the past as a record of work for first. Recently, I've grounded more portable laptops and it works very well, but to make sure that I optimized my setup as much as I could, I bought the above drive because it's active RAID0 and e-sata connected give me a decent, stable flow (or so I assume). The WD drives come often pre formatted in HFS + to make it easier for users of Mac to just plug in and go and I thought as I often work with colleagues using Macs and FCP also, it would be wise to keep this disk formatted this way to keep the best compatibility with my peers.

However, the question that arises in my mind is if this adversely performance, while editing somehow? Read/write speeds would be more effective if the reader have been configured in native mode so that NTFS or not makes it not much difference when using Macdrive? Anyone have any ideas?

Probably the performance won't be affected too much because it is really just referencing a different partition table. However, the only place it would probably lower performance would access time random by the reader from the latency created by the software would add to that. I know how important that is, but still 3 to 5 milliseconds is to attribute. Consider the 10K drives on average are only 5 milliseconds faster 7200 readers you can make a comparison. So where RAT comes into play? When access you or by writing to multiple files. In other words, use that to a cache drive is probably where you will see a decrease in performance. If you use it as a good media player, you probably don't see it unless you often have many video files playing simultaneously.

  • Backup will not accept a disk formatted in drive A:

I am running XP with SP3 and my Windows backup program works perfectly, creating the backup file on an external hard drive. At the end it asks me to insert a disk formatted in the A: drive, what I do, but no matter what I do, it just do not see it and asks me to insert a disk again. The disk is there, it has been formatted and is clean and it works fine, except for the backup program. Why? What can I do?

    Hello

Ideally, Windows backup and restore will not ask for floppy drive.

You try to create the backup recovery (of the ASR system) automated system?

You configure the backup password protection on your external hard drive? If this is the case, I suggest you to not set the password for your backup.

  • Current virtual disk format

How can I check the current disk for a virtual machine format?  I have a model I want to build it, but I want to make sure you that I respect another virtual machine disk format.  I want to check the other VM to see which of these options below has been selected.

    Same format as the source

    Zero lazy stocked thickness

    Zero eager stocked thickness

    Provision of thin

    Thank you

Click with the right button on the virtual machine and then click on change settings. Click on the vmdk and look to the right where it says disk Provisioning. The Type field will tell you the kind of vmdk is.

  • Error 'select virtual disk format.

I try to configure replication for VM with disks on two storages. I was following the blog of Ken Werneburg , but I get error 'Select virtual disk format' every time I use the advanced drive configuration. How to continue?

We use the unique vCenter server scenario.

I guess the only solution for you is then rename vmdk files. Make sure you that you back up your VM first or clone it somewhere for testing purpose to see if it will work for you. Here is an article that describes how to rename a VM http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1002491VMDK files. Hope it will be useful to you.

  • need help to install El captain on iMac 2010 after secure hard disk format

Hey guys... This might seem newb but the other day, I wiped firmly (format single-pass) my HARD drive on an imac 2010 with the Mavericks. Somehow the OS partition has been removed by the previous owner, but they didn't know how and gave me the system as a gift. I had the opportunity to reinstall the Mavericks via internet, but using the original Apple ID, which I couldn't, so the full format. Formatting completely unregister the iMac and delete the App Store, iTunes, ID and other settings/passwords? I have a bootable USB, which will install El Captain but need to know if using my own Apple ID for the installation will work without problems? I'm at the point where the system is no longer automatically starts in recovery mode, like the format, which means that command + R is my next step, but I had to order a keyboard/mouse fixed Magic since it did not come with those. In any case thanks for any advice you can offer.

The Mac doesn't work this way. The material is not registered to any particular Apple ID. You can either use OS X Internet Recovery, which will install the original system provided with this computer, or you can install from a bootable installation on a UBS drive, in which case you can install any version of the operating system supported by the hardware you choose or that you can download.

In both cases, once you have started the computer from the recovery of the Internet or the USB drive, run disk utility to completely erase the disk before running Setup.

  • Satellite L300 - data E disk format itself?

Today, I noticed that my computer toshiba laptop has deleted all my files from the data disk excluding the folder HDDRecovery and latest files I downloaded.

I think this happened when I tried to install the new software earlier today, when the screen turned suddenly black and nothing happened until I restarted the system. After that, the data drive was completely empty, so that the computer had decided to delete all my files.

Then why did do that? Or am I not supposed to use the 150 GB of space on this drive and install all data on drive Vista (C)?

I would consider this situation quite annoying and I hope that someone could tell me what is the problem here.

Akuma is right. Disc doesn't format itself. Something like that is definitely not possible.
I won't repeat what wrote Akuma, but the fact is that we can just speculate what was happen exactly.

  • Infected disk formatting; Installing XP Home Edition and it calls for disc SP1

I have an old pc that has been infected by a virus, spyware, and Trojan horse. I was able to log in safe mode and run anti-virus programs and remove most of the problems finnally. I wanted to format the hard drive and start over to make sure you have a clean pc. I have Windows XP Home Edition. After copying the files requested the installation of the service Pack 1 cd that I don't have. However, I have the SP 2 cd that I put in but it didn't recognize the cd or find the file that it was seeking to continue the installation. What should I do to clear the checkpoint of the installation?

    Hi RandyZeuske,

You try to upgrade Windows XP on-site. This operation reinstalls Windows XP to the same folder on your computer where it was originally installed.

However, before you perform the upgrade on Windows XP site, back up important data to another location as disc CD/DVD, USB etc.

For more information, see this link.

How to perform an upgrade on the spot (reinstallation) of Windows XP

If Windows XP was preinstalled on the computer, you can contact your computer manufacturer to order Windows XP install disks.

    Hope the helps of information.

  • Old system disk formatting

Hi, I'm trying to format the hdd old system which is no longer in use, but windows not format shrink or delete data - 50 GB of a value on a hard drive of raptor 10000 RPM.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon

    Hi Scorpionking40,

    1. are you using a secondary hard drive or Windows is installed on the hard drive?

    2. you receive error messages?

If this is your primary hard drive, then you will not be able to remove or decrease the hard drive.

You either need to do is the secondary hard drive or try to boot from the Windows disc and Windows receovery environment try to delete ot reduce it.

You can read the following article and try Method 8 to use the Diskpart.exe utility to clean the disk

You cannot select or format a disk partition hard when you try to install Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927520

Note: Use this method only if you want to perform a new installation of Windows. When you clean the hard disk, it is formatted. All data on the hard drive and all the partitions are deleted permanently. We strongly recommend that you back up the files on the hard disk before cleaning the disc.

  • Is it possible to disable the disk formatting?

    Hello everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to disable the option of formatting disk by modifying the Windows registry.
    Best regards
    Daniel

The command is located in C:\Windows\System32\ and is called format.com
I would just rename it rather than remove it as you will need it at some point.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 8 - 1 TB disk formats to 32 GB

    Original title: Please help

I have a WD 1 TB drive I did a recovery drive but I didn't need but he reformatted it it's 32 GB so I was wondering how to reset it (I was on the WD site but found nothing that could help me).

If you have formatted the drive in FAT32, note that Windows 7 and 8 will only create partitions FAT32 32 GB or less.

If reformat you in NTFS, you can create too big a partition you want. You can also use a third-party utility if you need the disk to FAT32.

  • I can't install Vista Home Basic Edition to a HARD disk formatted my installation disc

My computer crashed by a virus. I removed the hard drive, hooked to my Windows 7 computer and formatted the hard drive. I tried for days now all possible variations in the installation menu and it fails every time! Urgh! Very frustrating!

The disc was sent to me by Microsoft a couple of years with a product key. How can I make this work? Please...!

I was on it for a week now. I tried all the bloody configurations that I could think of!

I'll try what you suggested for the tenth time now - it fails every time! I find myself with a message in the upper left corner of the screen: white all type of small letters on a black screen: "no partiton bootable in the table" - no "partition", but "partiton. Just before comes up and locks the computer I see a flash of blue screen that tries to restart the computer. The Bios can be damaged by a virus? If so - how can fix this?

Too bad... Thanks for the reply, Walter. You made me think in a different direction, that is to say, I realized that the virus was in the CMOS. So I simply removed the battery and moved the RTC Ram rider to clear the clock, so to speak. Boom! It worked! Computer has started in the setup of Vista no probs... 1 million thank - you.
