  • Warning of ITunes that point could not be found should have more details

When I moved the ITunes library to new computer, not all files were transferred successfully.

When I tried to sync, I got the message, that some elements are not found (and the list showed a list of 100 problem)

    See image http://screencast.com/t/1Bkcer7th8Vm

It will be good if the list must include the original location for the simple recognition of the file, not always enough unique and descriptive names.

Unfortunately, sync was stopped after 100 errors, even I have the correct location for the other elements. ITunes should ask, what I want to synchronize all of the remaining elements and allow the to do.

Also, it will be good to copy the list to the Clipboard for easy search.

In addition, when importing to the library, I got a message that some files are not found, but do not provide a list. Again, it will be good to have the files report with full places and possibility to copy them to the Clipboard.

    I am running Windows, ITunes 12.3.2.35 64-bit

The "missing file" error occurs if the file is no longer where iTunes is expected to find. Causes possible is that you or a third-party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the reader, he feeds has been a change to the drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from waiting for the files in the presentation of pre-iTunes 9 post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice versa, and so looking for a bit in the wrong place.

Select a track with an exclamation point, use Ctrl - I to get the information, and then click No when asked to try to locate the track. Look under the Summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks that the file should be. Now look around your hard drives. I hope you can locate the track in question. If a part of your library has just been moved, renamed a folder or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse actions. If the difference between the two railroads is an additional music directory in a path, then it is a problem of layout. I can explain more if this is the case. If everything is where it is supposed to be trying to fix the security permissions for iTunes for Windows.

In some cases, iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info, but this time, click on search and browse the lost track. He peut then offers to try to automatically correct the other broken links. Although he said something like 'use the same location' I think he expects to find the titles in the same layout artist & album that they were before, with a systematic change to the path.

If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it difficult to restore media on the precise way that iTunes is expected. In this case, as long as the missing files somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script for reconnecting to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

If you want me to try to provide specific advice, please post back the following details:

    1. The location of the media file under Edit > Preferences > advanced
    2. The location of a sample of missing follow indicated under Get Info > file > location which begins file://localhost/
    3. The real path to the file which you gave 2 details.

    Mohd Monis,
First thing I would say is to get your current PC with Windows updates.  Service Pack 3 was released in April 08.  If you did not or limited updates updates since then, you should get your system up to date.  If you are not invited to any DirectX updates then you can go to this link and download the latest DirectX 9 for your system. Hey Jay_551,

I have a good amount of information which I hope will be your answer useful lol.
For starters, what Anti Virus do you use, the "netsh.exe" has been know to be infected by the virus and be put in a folder by some anti-virus. So I would check that out in your antivirus, I had this info at the following link:
Also here is the Microsoft article on how to remove the 'Zentcom System Guard", he is recorded as my Microsoft Malware, then read the following link:
Also because it's a common thing for there to be lack of pop - ups after a system file is infected, and removed from the infection, I would review the last link below it. It was created about other missing files, but the situation applies to you:

I am logged on as administrator, why I can not create a restore point?

    Hello Paul0246,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.

We will try to the simple troubleshooting step: turn off System Restore, then turn it back on. This will delete all existing restore points.

How to disable the system restore in Windows Vista:
    http://bertk.MVPs.org/html/disablesrv.html

Don't set system restore to monitor other than readers that what is installed on Windows.

Have you tried to add your account to the list of permissions for the directory of system restore, etc. If this does not work, then try to disable user account control and see if that is the question.
    To disable UAC

    1. Click Startand then click Control Panel. In Control Panel, click user accounts.

    2. In the user accounts window, click user accounts.

    3. In the user accounts tasks window, click turn on UAC enabled or disabled.

    4. If UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the user account control message appears. Click continue.

    5. Clear the check box use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer , and then click OK.

    6. Click restart now to apply the changes immediately, or click restart later and close the user accounts tasks window.

If disable UAC does not help with the creation of a system restore point, try the following:

    (1) put in place a start-up in minimal mode and see if a 3rd party program or software may interfere with the system restore point.
Follow the article below for instructions on the msconfig configuration (clean boot).
KB 929135 - how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    (2) turn off the anti-virus and try to create a system restore point. I would also try to uninstall too.

Please reply back and let us know if any of these steps has contributed to your question or if you still need help.

    Sincerely,

Hi, I have now discovered what the problem was. It wasn't Office exactly. Rather have just reinstalled windows 7, windows update did not work properly. Virtually no updates had been installed. I had to run the "windows update diagnostic" program from Microsoft support. Once that had solved the problem of update on 180 updates have been installed. Once they have been installed the problem with the error has been resolved. I do not know what update fixed but one of them did.

  • Wireless adapter is missing. Now under 'other devices '.

    Hello

I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Latitude E6420. My wireless adapter is missing. The only way you can find it is through the device and then Manager, it appears as 'Other devices' - 'Network controller' with a yellow sign - Code 28. I tried to have the driver update system - he finds nothing. I also downloaded newer versions of Intel and Dell - nothing. If I force it to do manually (I would locate etc) then I get a blue screen.
I started the computer off a Linux LiveCD and the wireless adapter works flawlessly.
I ran out of laps. Would appreciate any help on what to do (short of reinstalling Windows, I really want to get to the bottom of it without it).
    Thank you very much.

    Hi JoqngclyE0,

Thanks for your reply. In my case, it's different. If you read my original post, I say that I tried to start up with a Linux LiveCD and it resumed instantly wireless card. It is clear to me that this is a Windows problem.

Please keep in mind that my computer is a Dell, so nothing to do with these HP problems. I'm sure reinstall would fix things, but there is no guarantee that the problem will not happen and I don't want to have to reinstall on the one hand, and on others I like to think I'm rational and I understand why things happen.

No help from anyone, really appreciated.

    Thank you

  • the procedure entry point GetFinalPathNameByHandleW could not be found in KERNEL32.dll dynamic link library

    Hello

While trying to install a program, I see the following on the screen error message:

The procedure entry point GetFinalPathNameByHandleW could not be found in KERNEL32.dll dynamic link library

The I set him, is a Windows XP 32-bit environment.

The I am installing, is a program, created by my own company, using a 32-bit self-extracting installer, which is also created by my own business using InstallAnywhere Flexera software.

No changes were made on the environment of the installers.

No change seems is done on the environment for creating installation programs (where the self-extracting installer is created): I checked the monitor of reliability/Action Center / Control Panel and no entries are present between a job and an installer without work.

The file 'KERNEL32.dll' is mentioned in the error message, I checked his date of change, which is 11/30/2012, this should not be the cause of the problem either.

Witnin the self-extracting installation program, a few changes were found, those who are considered at the moment, but there is no indication or not those who are causing the error message I see here.

Does anyone have an idea what may cause the error message mentioned and how to cope?

    Thank you

    Dominique

These types of error messages mean that the program is looking "inside" the file specified (in this case kernel32.dll) try to find a function/procedure to run called "GetFinalPathNameByHandleW" and find do not.

The program calls the non-existent function badly or the library file is not in there.  Things do not match somewhere.

A DLL is a library of dynamic links and files as kernel32.dll are sometimes just a bunch of procedures/functions/subroutines and all located in a single, portable file.

In a primitive way, you can use a text editor to open the kernel32.dll file (make a copy if it your desire) and search for a string "GetFinalPathNameByHandleW" and you will not find.

You can even search for "GetFinal", and you won't find it in the XP kernel32.dll file:

But if you do the same thing on a Windows 7 + kernel32.dll you 'll find:

If your program calls a function inside a DLL, but this feature does not exist in the Windows XP's kernel32.dll file.

I think that GetFinalPathNameByHandleW was introduced in Windows Vista, so now here you would be fine.

If who wrote your program is that it works on XP, they need to stick to the functions that are part of XP and GetFinalPathNameByHandleW isn't here, where the error.
