    Hi all

    Could someone please share on the topic:

    AutoConfig with parallel option introduced in what version of R12?

    On further research, please note the following, which has been highlighted in EBS 12.1.x news as well:

    1. automatic configuration with parallel option in 12.1.1

    A. the link below so points out:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E18727_01/ doc.121 /e12841/T120505T120514.htm

    AutoConfig running in parallel

    Introduced in version 12.1, the parallel mode allows to AutoConfig to simultaneously run multiple nodes of a system of Oracle E-Business Suite. When running in parallel mode, AutoConfig uses the dbms_locks PL/SQL package to ensure that the configuration of a node does not interfere with the configuration of other nodes: this is necessary because some automatic configuration of a node service configurations depend on the configuration of the other nodes.

    B.R12.1 has the interesting feature that you can run the automatic configuration in parallel in the environment of multi node. Exit R12.1 content CD contains this information.

  • Inactive workers in IMPDP with parallel option

    Hello gurus,

    I took an export datapump to a partitioned table 29GB with the following parameters and was extremely quick (< 10 minutes):

    parallel = 4
    = 500MB file size
    Directory = PUMP_DIR
    estimate statistics =
    dumpfile=exp%U.dmp
    REUSE_DUMPFILES = y
    logfile = export.log
    tables = user1.t1

    Export product 4 parallel workers who were active all the time, so why the high speed.

    However when I tried to take an import datapump on the same database on an empty table (different schema), the performance was very poor (55 minutes):

    parallel = 4
    Directory = PUMP_DIR
    dumpfile=exp%U.dmp
    logfile = Import.log
    tables = user1.t1
    remap_schema = user1:user2
    TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION = add

    I noticed that parallel workers have been slowed down all the time (not applicable the degree of parallelism, I used) and importation of all was serialized.

    Can someone give me an idea why parallel workers were slowed during the IMPDP?

    You see, I'll assume that you do a single importation of the data, or at the very least, your tables already exist and you import partitioned tables. If that's true, then you hit a situation that we know. Here's what happens:

    This is true for tables partitioned and sous-partitionnee and only if the Data Pump task that loads the data have not also created the table. The last part of the previous sentence is what makes this real. If you run a Data Pump task that simply creates the tables, and then run another task import which loads the data, even when they come from the same dumpfile, you will hit this situation. The situation is:

    When the task Data Pump that load data into a table partitioned or sous-partitionnée has not created the table, and then Data Pump cannot be sure
    the partitioning key is the same. For this reason, when loading the Data Pump data, it comes out a table lock and it blocks any other parallel to load in this table workers. If the task Data Pump created the table, then only a lock partition or subpartition is underwritten and other workers are free to subscribe locks on different partitions/subpartitions in the same table.

    I suppose that you see, is that all workers are trying to load data into the same table, but different partitions and workers holds the table lock. This may block other workers.

    There is a 'fix' for this, but there is a minimum difficulty. Data pump sill cannot load into several partitions, remember to remove the table lock, but instead, only 1 partitoin/subpartitoin will be set to 1. You will not see the parallel max used in these cases, but you will not see other workers waiting for an exclusive lock on the same table.

    I do not remember the number of patch and I do not remember what version it went in, but Oracle Support should be able to help with that.

    If the same Data Pump task creates the tables, or if these tables are not partitioned/sous-partitionnée, then I have not heard of this issue.

    Thank you

    Dean

  • Using the parallel option with DataPump

    Hello

    Does make sense to make a DataPump export and import with the option parallel > 1 when I only have a single dump file?

    Thanks and greetings

    Hello

    Thank you for the feedback.

    But as I said I am concerned by the presence of a single dump file.

    It does not work and have abortions. So I can't use this option unless I generate export by many dump files.

  • Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

    Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

    Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

    They read these messages?

    Hey Buddy

    I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

    The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

    The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
    You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
    In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

    There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).

  • OKR preserved with the implementation form/partition conversion?

    I am a new owner of an Ideapad S12 - as well as new to this forum, so I apologize if I didn't search well enough, but I could not find explicit answers to what I'm wondering.

    I understand that OneKey Recovery will continue to work as long as the disk partition HARD sizes remain unchanged. But let's OKR also continue working if I format and/or to change the file system, but leave the partitions and partition sizes unchanged? Specifically, I want to maintain the Restore Factory Default option when you press the OKR when arrested.

    Here are the current provision of the HARD drive:

    • Primary partition (C:, FAT32)
    • Extended partition (logical drive D:, NTFS)
    • (Inaccessible from Windows, NTFS) recovery partition

    I am considering the following actions:

    • convert C: from FAT32 to NTFS by using the command line in Windows
    • do a clean install of Windows, C: to NTFS formatting, leaving only the D:
    • do a clean installation of Windows, try to convert an extended in a primary partition partition D:

    I read on the people who make the first action without any problem, but OKR still work? I also have never worked with extended partitions, so I don't even know if the second and third actions are possible, a fortiori if they preserve OKR.

    I was quite surprised that the HARD disk has been partitioned so archaically, with FAT32 and extended partitions. I hope someone can tell me how can I go with formatting without losing the ability to restore my default HARD drive!

  • Possible to Exchange temporary table with composite range-hash partitioned table?

    Hello

    Using oracle 11.2.0.3

    We want to clean up the data in some of our existing partitioned table.

    Afetr updates check spped that is too slow for us.

    Current table is partitioned the inetrval compoiste range-hash table.  Also it is compressed - enabled for compression of basis as well

    An interval of 1 month and 1 partition by month and 4 secondary partitions in the partition of ecah.

    You want to create tenp table with the data of celan and exchange the data in this table in the 'dirty' uisng existing partitions partition exchnage.

    Is this possible?

    The plan is

    1) create temporary table containing data for 1 partition (1 month worth of data)

    (2) clean the data here

    (3) create new temporary table with these specific data which compressed and discovered partitioned with 4 secondary partitions

    (4) table 3 for swap partition dirty using partition excahnge.

    Thaks

    I think that this can be done with a combination of Exchange and Split partition partitions. Prior to Oracle 11 g, only way of redefining tables online was DBMS_REDEFINITION package. Now, you can redefine the use of partitions for Exchange & Split. Check

  • Problem with the conversion of Partition Boot Camp

    I would have just dl and installed the trial version of 3.0.  After running and by selecting the boot camp for the boot partition, merge began to 'prepare' the partition for use.  After about 45 minutes, the process had not been completed.  I grew up the activity monitor and found that the process did nothing.  I closed the process, thinking I could start over again at the launch of Fusion.  Wrong, merger saw the partition boot camp into a virtual machine that could not be started.

    Is there a possible way to start the process of 'preparation '?  It is apparently the only way to correct the problem.

    Tried from a support ticket, but could not do while I wasn't a registered owner.

    I'm trying to make my choice between Parallels and Fusion, or just stick with BootCamp.  I hope someone can help me with this problem.

    Harry

    Dear Harry,

    I did the same thing yesterday. My BootCamp partition has Windows XP (SP3) and I also have Parallels. I'm now trying to decide if I stay with Parallels or Fusion 3 (to take a possible advantage over the 64-bit @ Snow Leopard).

    My upgrade was fine, it took about 15 minutes to get BootCamp running on the merger. A small step has been to re - activate my XP with Microsoft license, because the "material" changes. I have the MACBOOK PRO 13 '' 2.53 with 4 GB of RAM. I don't really have time to play yesterday, but between Parallels and Fusion 3, (64-bit), I did not see too much improvement on the 'speed '.

    An advantage of having any of virtualization software, is that you can have multiple operating systems running, such as XP, Windows7, etc. I need that because my work, the developer. If you can stay only with an operating system, I guess, BootCamp works very well.

  • VCP exam question - the difference between the file exchange and the swap partition?

    I am currently a student at my VCP and stumbled upon a question and was hoping someone could explain the answer offered.  Essentially the question is asking why you must manually create a local VMFS volume.  The possible answers were: files of storage for the service console log, decentralized storage for all the vmkernel vmkernel swap activity Exchange files for virtual machines that are configured locally and swap files from service console for the console service RAM overcommitment.

    It is my understanding that the swap partition has its own format.  When you create the necessary partitions for installing ESX format the swap partition is 'swap', not vmfs or ext - 3.  Then, because the last three options are to swap/activity files, I chose the first choice, storage for the service console logs.  This study guide says I'm wrong and the answer is VMKernel swap files for virtual machines that are configured locally.   Of course, Miss me something here...

    How you store Exchange files on VMFS partition?  I thought that the swap partition is the only place to have to Exchange files, and then it is on its own partition.  You cannot store a partition on a partition.

    Maybe it's the difference between a swap file and a swap partition which is tripping me?

    Search for, swap space as it is usually is a place to store a replica of memory the system for the purpose of managing memory better (usually data that are accessed most often).

    SWAP PARTITION is now, for the ESX SWAP space.

    And the EXCHANGE FILE is for some particular VM swap space that can be used by the guest operating system. The use of this file is managed by VMkernel. Now, this swap file has some different features from the windows of i.e normal swap, linux or ESX swap space space.
