WMI problem... lack of wbemcomn2.dll

About 6 weeks after a Windows update (on my Windows 7 desktop system), then the next stop, he made the usual "do not turn off computer...» Xx x installation updates. After that he made a little then it just hung on one of them for more than 18 hours, so I did a Hard Reset. I recall Windows rebooted OK, no immediate problem. Since that time I did 2 or 3 updates updated Windows and everything seems OK.

Now one of my programs that I had not run since the interrupted update that uses WMI does not work. (works well on my Windows 7 laptop)

After a little investigation (see http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/243922-wmi-corrupt.html) I discovered that winmgmt does not work. From the cmd prompt (privileges):
C:\>WinMgmt /verifyrepository

It gives just a pop upwindow saying:
"The program can't start because wbemcomn2.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

In fact wbemcomn2.dll is not on my system, but I c:\windows\syswow64\wbemcomn.dll. On my system (also Windows 7) laptop, I can run winmgmt /verifyrepository AND it works on my laptop, there is no wbemcomn2.dll, only c:\windows\syswow64\wbemcomn.dll.

I think that interrupted windows update may have messed up this place causing WMI Associates programs to search for wbemcomn2.dll when they should look for c:\windows\syswow64\wbemcomn.dll.

Any ideas how I can track down and solve this problem?

Thank you!
Curtis

Hi Curtis,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

When you access data in local or remote WMI in a script or an application, you may encounter errors ranging from missing classes to access denied. Suppliers also have options of debugging and troubleshooting of the classes available.

In order to diagnose the problem, I suggest to follow the methods provided below and check if the problem persists.

Method 1:

Download and run the WMI Diagnosis Utility and check if it helps the question of fixing.

Downloads: Utility Diagnostics WMI - Version 2.2

For more information about the WMI errors, see the following MSDN article:

WMI troubleshooting

If the problem persists, proceed to the next method.

Method 2:

Try to run a scan of the file system (CFS) auditor to check any file corruption:

  1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
  2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, click OK, or alternatively click on Yes.
  3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

For more information, refer to this link:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Problem in the call dll c ++

    Hello

    I have problems to make a dll written in c ++ to work when called in LabView. I don't have the source code, but I know it works because I tested it with a demo of Visual C++. I get an error of 1097 the first time I call and no error at any time after that. However, the dll does not seem to do anything. I have attached the header file and my code labview below.

    Edit: I can't download attachments so I'll post screenshots

    relevant part of the header file:

    #ifndef

    #define

    #include

    using

    #ifdef

    extern

    #endif

    #pragma pack (1)

    EsessionLicence & PESessionLicence);

    You cannot really the interface call this function directly to the library node. The problem here are the string parameters. Who are the C++ object model classes, something only the C++ compiler that created the DLL can guarantee to manage properly.

    People using C++ must understand that the use of C++ objects in the interfaces parameter takes a DLL basically almost certainly unusable for any other compiler that was used to create the DLL. It can be even as bad as requiring the same version of the compiler, because there is basically no binary standard on how to pass objects C++ functions. Maybe that C11 sets something but most modern C compilers are struggling even to conform fully to the C99 standard which, as its name suggests, came out in 1999 (with a few addenda released in 2001, 2004 and 2007).

    string to a type of C++ template was even more complicated than just the binary object interface, as every compiler comes with its own header designed template classes.

  • lack manifest Assembly .dll to import

    Hello Experts!

    I'm trying to import a .dll file that I created using visual studio 2010 sp1 (with c ++) in labview. (let's say the basic example of great described here):

    Walkthrough: creating and using a dynamic library (C++)

    Everything works fine when I'm doing things in visual studio, I'm even able to import the .dll file in .net applications. However, when I try to import this .dll in LabView, I get this error:

    System.BadImageFormatException:

    Could not load file or assembly 'C:\...\yourFile.dll' or one of its dependencies.

    the module should contain an assembly manifest. (Pls see attached screenshot).

    I know that the right of the bat that I need to check my visual studio settings. I did so, I followed the steps below in discussions with care and made sure that the manifest is embedded in the .dll file.

    However, I get the same error when you import this .dll in LabView.

  • Problem of window display DLL

    Hello!

    I'm writing a DLL with Labview which is called from a C++ application. However, when I run it, the next window opens briefly and then disappears.

    Hide the window? It's really annoying

    Thank you.

    Hey Nokia!

    The loading window is more likely to appear because it does not find this dependence DLL (NI_AALBase.lvlib) in its planned place. If the program search for awhile and it is somewhere else. My suggestion would be:

    1 install/reinstall the appropriate version af (same version as your LV) LabVIEW runtime engine.

    2. If this does not work try manually add NI_AALBase.lvlib to your DLL build and make sure that it is in the tab always included in the selection of the source file.

    3. There is a parameter .ini to remove loading windows. You must open the labview.ini configuration file (it's in the same directory as LabVIEW.exe) and add the line

    ShowLoadProgressDialog = True

    Although this can be ignored if a file or directory is not found by the charger.

    What is your version of LabVIEW? Do you run this DLL on the same PC where it was created? Please try these solutions and now I can check if there is anything in the version linked to this problem.

  • Problem with Simulink model dll running on target RT

    Hello!

    At the beginning I specify software and hardware that I use:

    LabVIEW 8.5

    Simulation Interface Toolkit 4.0.0

    Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0

    MATLAB 7.4.0 (R2007a)

    NEITHER cRIO-9014

    At first, I did a simple Simulink model (Sine generator, gain and an outdoor sink), then I started with vi empty and abandoned command digital for the gain and the waveform for the sine table. I grabbed SIT Connection Manager and that you have chosen Simulation Environment case. Then I loaded a template file, the mapped controls and indicators. Everything worked like a charm. Problems started when I tried to turn on an RT target. Maybe I'll explain step by step what I did and after the error at the end.

    1. I created a dll from a MATLAB simulink model file. I selected in time real workshop one C language and target to "nidll.tlc". The I compiled without error.

    2. I entered LabVIEW SIT Connection Manager and changed the host execution target in real time. File browser has popped up and I selected the dll already made my template file.

    3. in Add target devices on window, I chose 'existing or peripheral target' and I chose in the other menu in time real CompactRIO. There was my compactrio system, I chose it and LabVIEW began to search for devices.

    4. after that, I clicked the "Ok" button in the SIT connection manager.

    5. I clicked the run button before my vi file panel and LabVIEW began deployment.

    And here the deployment failed with the following error message:

    Deployment of 192.168.1.2 (parameters target successfully deployed)
    Deployment compatOpenFileOperation.vi (5.35 K)
    Deployment of SIT copies values from Replay on Inports.vi (10,96 K)
    Deployment of SIT expand newspapers Signal Names.vi (4.99 K)
    Deployment of SIT PostOutputs.vi
    Could not download SIT PostOutputs.vi
    LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library SITs.outostOutputs:E on the target RT device.

    I tried to do everything once again and got a little different error message:

    Deployment of 192.168.1.2 (parameters target successfully deployed)
    Deployment of common access to specific Path.vi (22.25 K) path
    Deployment of SIT runtime DLL query.vi
    Could not download SIT runtime DLL query.vi
    LabVIEW: Unable to load the shared library SITs.out:TaskRunTimeInfo:E on the device target RT.

    What I am doing wrong? Any ideas? I will be extremely grateful for the ideas!

    Best regards

    SIT 4.0 does not support VxWorks targets as your cRIO. SIT 5.0 was the first version to have any level of support for this.
