WMV & Wlmp

I need help too. I get an error message once I loaded my video. It shows a moment & then a! inside a triangle is displayed.  All files disappear. I used WMV for several years and never had any problems. I downloaded windows 7 & windows essentials and the trouble started. How can this be repaired?

Try to download "windows media encoder 9 series" & its utilities. For

audio/video, the encoder has several options & BONE quality

Software.7, is the latest windows OS to use the encoder.

  • Windows DVD Maker doesn't burn files .wmv/wlmp video high definition?

    Hey all,.

Long time user WMM, but with the recent switch to Win7, I'm having a hard time with WLMM.  In short, create the movie in WLMM is a snap.  Burn a DVD quality is another story.

I am using video clips high definition AVCHD from my new Sony CyberShot camera and showing the film on a Samsung 50 "720 p plasma.  If I burn a project WLMM created (Save Movie-> burn a DVD) and burn it in DVD maker, the quality is absolutely terrible on the plasma. It looks like an old VHS tape.  So, I guess the resolution 480 I saved is the problem.

So, if I save the project with high-definition (720 p - 1280 x 720) in WLMM and try to extract this file in Windows DVD maker, I get the error "0 files have been added.  1 file could not be added.  The \xxxxx\xxxxx\xxxxx.wlmp file is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported. "How is it possible that Windows DVD maker cannot burn a file created by its sister product Windows Live Movie Maker?  Am I missing something here, trying to extract a file to DVD Maker WLMM, or is it not possible?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

You can not convert the file because .wlmp is not a movie file... it has a
Project file Windows Live Movie Maker (useful only for a re-Edition)...

Try (economy) in the format .wmv movie to a folder on your hard drive.
Then you can convert the file video .wmv to .flv format.

  • How to burn a DVD in the format .wlmp

I have just cut/edited a video to a DVD. The original file formats were in. Form VOP. I used Windows Live Movie Maker to trim/edit. When I went to try to burn the files to a DVD, he said that the files could not be read because they have been registered as .wlmp. I thought that they were saved as VOP but did not know they had been saved differantly. How can I burn my work published on a dvd? Do I have to change the file extension to. VOP? Can I download a program type to burn these files?

I've seen the video you suggested for 'how to save Windows Live Movie Maker Project. The video shows how to save a project before the publish on a service such as YouTube. I don't want to publish the project, I want to burn to a DVD. Insofar as using create DVD, I already went through the steps to do, and that's when I discovered that the video had been registered in the wrong format. I try to use the converter that you suggested, however, given that any other option would require the deletion of the project and starting over, and I don't think I have time for it.

    ========================================
Apparently my info is not really useful for you, but FWIW...
the tutorial video is not just for YouTube.

What it does is allow you to save the project in the WMV
film format which means that you could see in Windows
Media Player and to share it with others.

And... If you save as WMV and then import the WMV to
Movie Maker, you'd have a better chance of success
    When creating your DVD.

    Good luck with your project.
