Work network

Access denied for work shared network folder.  He says that it is for many users and will not allow me to connect to this folder.  I will be connected to this folder on the network and it loses the connection.  My computer is connected to the switch / gateway.  However, on the same network another shared folder will allow me access.  Anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Thank you

Mary

Hi Mary,

You cannot access the shared network folder work, you get the error: access denied.

1. what operating system do you use?
2. is your computer connected to a network domain where the domain policies are applied?

While you answer with more information, check out the following link:

    Hello Russ Conrad,

You must start by creating a new group of residential on your Vista Machine and then join the homegroup on other computers.

Check out this article which will help you create a new network on your Vista computer:

  • Can't access network shares, Windows 7 Pro, work network.

I have a simple with a desktop computer and computer network portable 4. The Office has recently been updated from xp to 7. 2 laptops are still in xp and 2 are running 7. XP 2 and 7 laptops can access each other and the office. The office is mainly used to synchronize laptops using SyncToy and share a printer. The last laptop now cannot access the desktop, but can access and is accessible by all other machines.

Laptops have shared with full control permissions folders / everyone. The Office was corresponding to the shared folders and shared my Docs for 2 users with approval limited to full control for the user. There is no password on the desktop, laptops have passwords defined.

When Laptop4 attempts to access the desktop, no shares or printers are displayed and a login screen appears. If a user name and no password is used, then actions become visible but the two MyDocs sharing causes an error "you don't have permission to access...". ».

Advanced sharing options are the same on all machines.

I tried a sfc/scannow and run all diagnose it, but in vain.

    Help, please.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

I finally got it to work, but I had to conceed have no password on the desktop. very annoying on a home machine. Even the most annoying that this would be unnecessary if it was running XP.

  • File sharing works is not between two computers Windows 7 Home Premium on a work network.

Desktop computer is connected to a hub that is connected to a wireless router.

Laptop connects via the wireless router.

Both computers are in the same workgroup.

Two computers indicate that they are in the same network of 'work '.

The two computers 'see' each other.

Both computers have the same advanced sharing settings:

    • Turn on network discovery
    • Open file and printer sharing
    • Turn on public folder sharing
    • Streaming media is off
    • Use 128-bit encryption
    • Turn on password protected sharing
    • Homegroup connection is not used, but is set to 'use user accounts and passwords'.

As I try to get the laptop to connect to a share on the desktop computer, the user accounts and passwords on the desktop include the user account and the password for the laptop. This is an administrator account.

There are actions on the desktop computer and these actions include the credentials of the user of the laptop computer with read/write access.

Or machines is now faced with my right. I know one of them use AVG Free, but I'm not sure what the other computer uses for antivirus.

I get the error message has to do with the user account that I use is not eligible not by office machine. I'll post the exact message when I am in front of the computers within a few hours.

Sharing files between the two had worked, but then stopped. When you first install file sharing, that I had run into a different problem on the desktop where all settings indicated should be shared, but clicking on through a screen I got a message that file and print sharing has been disabled and I want to turn it on? (even while fixing in advance sharing settings says he was turned on...)

Any ideas? I'm pulling out my hair. Thank you!

  • Why not work network after sleep (pfsense VM) based on freeBSD?

When you resume a computer virtual which has a guest operating system (a gateway and a firewall based on freeBSD), pfsense networking does not work.

Even if the user interface shows correctly in place of the network interfaces. And the two network interfaces of the gateway that are connected, the WAN one like a usb device (usb-to-ethernet adapter physical network), the LAN as a network card virtual vmnet3 and other virtual machines that use this bridge across vmnet3 look good too.

What else could be bad due to the recovery, it was well before the last suspended?

    Hello

UH... Yes the internet USB adapter is indeed likely your culprit, not sure how I missed that in your original post.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people having trouble with the USB from one version to the other, and the way that it works is moving.

Of course, the intention is to better support for USB, but VMware also regularly breaks things in this particular area.

Back to a version might help.

There are also a whole bunch of parameters vmx USB change their behavior... and they are mostly undocumented.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600: cannot install the printer Officejet pro 8600 on work network using HP on Win10 software

I've recently updated my Surface 3 pro to win 11.  I try to install my printer using the HP installation software.  He worked with Win 8.1. The software has never been able to detect my printer automatically but in the past I could enter the IP address and it would connect.  This isn't the case, when I select wired connection, it just never fails to give me the opportunity to enter the ip address.  I can install the printer with the help of the W11 Control Panel, but the features of scan if the HP (HP printer assistant) software does not work it is frustrating for me.  Help, please.

    Kind regards

    Michael

I found the solution to this problem.  You just need to run automatic installation wired function twice and then it will ask for the IP address.  Once I did this and entered the IP address, it worked fine.  It must just be an option to start or appear after a failure.  I had to let it fail twice has been confusing.

I have a desktop running Vista Home E. and a laptop running Windows 7. Home Edition

  • Home network works great, remote desktop will not connect.

I have a Windows 7 laptop and a Vista laptop. They are connected to a secure wireless network. Both work very well as standalones. When I try to connect via Remote Desktop or connect with each other. My 7 is in a homegroup with a single name. My Vista is in a WORKING group with the same name. I can't connect either using remote desktop. Computer for both names are names of a single word, 'XXXXXX', not the format xxx.xxxxx.xxxx and I can't figure another way to their name. I spent 2 days serching various tech forums and tried what they suggested.

    Hello

Homegroup is a unique feature of Win 7. It uses IPv6.

As you connect to Vista you must configure Windows 7 to the home network.

    ------------------------------------

Network Win 7 with another version of Windows as a work network (works very well if all computers are Win 7 also).

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

  • Trying to create a network of client server to work - fairly new to networking

    Hello

I have a PC running Windows 7 Ultimate that I try to do the 'server' for my work network.  I have two other PC, one running Windows XP Pro and the other running Windows 8 Pro - these two, I'm doing the "clients".  The Windows 7 pc is connected to internet via ethernet (via my Linksys N Router).  The other two PC is connected to the internet via the router as well.

Can someone give me instructions of "layman's terms" on how to do it?  I can't have wired them together but I'm quite sure, there is a very easy way to do it.  Try to use my Quickbooks on all computers.

    Thank you!

    Roland

    You are welcome.
You can host the files of QB data on the Windows 7 machine and access it from the Windows 8 PC, but you will not be able to run QuickBooks in this way.  You need to install Quickbooks on Windows 8 PC.

  • Forget a network on the iPhone and it comes back later

Tell me if this has happened to you.

You go to the supermarket and there's an open wifi hotspot it which does not require a key, but you don't need this WiFi now.  my iPhone connects automatically, making it difficult to receive messages because this wifi * or does not have adequate connectivity or has a sign on the page, you don't want to fool around with.  So, I want to just forget about it.  So I do, go to settings > wifi, find the network, click on the i and hit "forget network".  We forget... for now.

I'll be back another time, and it reconnects to the network.  I have to then forget it all over again!

I have the setting for "ask to join networks" turned off the coast.  Per the note below the setting, he said "knows networks will be attached automatically, if no known networks are available, you will need to manually select a network."  With that, a popup is constantly asking to join my clutter networks.  I want the phone automatically join my home network, work network and a few other networks like individual houses with wifi band.  I do not want to connect to this * network supermarket, never.  implies remark to me that I have to go to network settings and select a network to join it and then if it is known it will connect automatically, whereas with this on he keeps asking to connect, always.

Something I noticed is that when I go to my wifi settings on my Mac at home and watch the networks recorded, it seems to remember all the networks I never joined including this wifi supermarket.  I empty this list, and at some point, everything comes back!  Icloud remember all my networks and do not allow me to blow out them?

I have reset my network preferences to see if that helps, and the question comes up eventually.  I have not tried to move to a new ID from icloud, which isn't really an option at this time.

Reflections on how to remedy this situation?

Yes, iCloud will synchronize networks between devices, for 'help you '. You can clean it by no synchronization each device and remove then add them slowly back one by one.

  • iTunes works at home but not at work.

I recently got my laptop to go in for repairs (broken housing).  Until I sent my computer for repairs, I never had no problem with iTunes at work.  Now that I have my laptop back and update iTunes 12.3.3.17, 64 - bit, it works very well at home but stops responding when I am connected to my work network.

I can log off of the network, launch iTunes mode safe, get my play music and then reconnect to the network in my office, but I have to disconnect from the network whenever I want to open iTunes up.  To my knowledge, I am the only one with this problem.  Everyone has iPhones for company phones so I don't think that the company's iTunes a firewall.

Any ideas on what could happen?

    Thank you

    Matt

    I also have this problem.

I guess that something in the proxy/firewall work is heartbreaking to iTunes.

I get errors in iTunes while trying to connect to the proxy for a couple years now, but since I updated iTunes to 12.3.3.17 today I can't run iTunes at all unless I disconnect the network.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall iTunes and that made no difference.

    Hello

First of all ensure that protected by password sharing is disabled for your operating system, otherwise it will fail:

From the Control Panel, under network and Internet open the network and sharing Center.

Ensure that the network type is displayed as a home or work network, if it is listed as Public network click on it and select home or work.

In the left pane click on change advanced network settings and select turn off password protected sharing.

    Search for now any change.

If you have problems to right click on the Shared folder, and then select Properties.

Ensure that the folder is shared as sharing.

Click Advanced, and then click permissions and ensure that your users have all permissions to this folder.

    Hope that helps,

    Hello

It see all availble devices that are configured for Sharew on the network.

    -----------------

    Maybe this can help.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    * Note . All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account onall computers that they are allowed to connect to.

Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users. It is available to avoid the need to configure permission for each on its own, it does not mean all those who feel that they would like to connect.
