Work with files in OBIEE12c BAR

Hello everyone,

one of the main innovations of OBIEE 12 c is certainly the concept of BAR files, which brings

set all deployment objects (RPD, catalog,...) in a coherent snapsot.

I'm trying to get my head around the manipulation of this concept.

First step is clearly import / export of these files.

Everything I have come across so far is the exportServiceInstance / importServiceInstance wlst orders (no GUI).

These commands require a parameter "serviceInstanceKey".

My question is:

What is serviceInstance key? Where / when / how is it indicated?

Where / how can I look for in an existing facility?

Any input / pointer to relevant literature enjoyed.

Kind regards

J.P..

By default, serviceInstanceKey is ssi

  • Disable the update of the widget menu when you are working with files from Muse?

    First of all thank you Adobe for the creation of Muse - I really like it a lot!

    My question:

    When I work on my site with over 250 pages, he strains the performance to make even the smallest changes in the structure of the page. I work with two masters of every much the same horizontal menu widget.

    Add, remove, and reorganization of pages makes the PC (Windows 7 laptop to some but not impressive power) to stop and take a deep breathe for a few seconds. It really interrupts the workflow.

    A raw work around this is to remove the menu widget in the two masters and put it in a new master page that contains the copied menu only two other masters and keep the rest of the header in place on the masters originals to be used for the alignment on the pages. In this way, what a page is updated when you work with adding, deleting, and the reorganization of pages.

    I tried to find a preference disable the update of the widget Menu when working on the structure of the page and just allow the update again when the work is done? is - it? otherwise I would recommend it highly :-) Since my work is about a little difficult/risky to use after the publication of ;-)

    Again, thank you very much for this beautiful program. Being a user of CS (now CCC) selftought I like the ease of control of the Web design you can get with Muse (to the distribution unit other features of course - if you ever wanted to add some sort of database search feature it would be MUCH appreciated.) A workaround is to use the iframe and an external search/lookup page, which returns results with links to parent pages. Un_peu funny good construction :-) ).

    Glad to know you like Muse.

    It can be very intensive CPU if you have several Master pages with their own menu widget Pages. Take a look at the following threads and refer to the response of Zak.

    See if you are able to use one menu widget for all Pages in your site while enjoying the function hierarchical master page.

    We know the performance problems caused by the widget Menu (all types of pages) and is something being considered by engineering in one of the upcoming releases.

  • Work with files and folders system

    I built a script to workflow that replaces the old versions of images and then did some workflows of the specific things I need. There is a big drawback to the script I want to solve.

    Currently I selects a few sequences in the project Panel I want to replace, and select pairs of sequences of exact replacement from an import dialog box. Fortunately, it seems to process everything in alphabetical order so that they fit well. But sometimes it can be a pain to find each file from a large list of replacement.

    What I would do is I select the images that I would like to replace, and then I choose a file to be reviewed. The script then analyze the folder (and subfolders) for images with names and run the workflow properly.

    It is the analysis of a folder and import the process that I can't understand. I can't find any documentation on how to access and read files before importing them into AE. Best case scenario, I'd love to find a way to show the pair in the user interface to confirm they are correct, similar to the way aescripts: Immigration works. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be amazing. Thank you!

    Seems good. Insofar as the. The names of folders and files DS_Store you can do a check during the loop in the checkForFiles function, which excluded because it is through them. You can use the 'hidden' attribute to check if the file is hidden and ignore the file. Also the instanceof object can be used to check if the file is a folder.

    function checkForFiles (folderItem) {}

    Uses of the var = folderItem.getFiles ();     Gets all files inside the folder

    for (var c = 0; c)< thefiles.length;="">

    fileType = instanceof uses [c] folder.     Check the file to see if it is a folder

    If (uses [c] .hidden! = true & fileType == false) {//Checks file to see if it's hidden, AND if it is a folder

    folderFiles.push (theFiles [c]);     Adds files to the array

    }

    if(filetype == true) {//Checks to see if the file is a folder

    checkForFiles (theFiles [c]);     If it is a folder, the function resumes and continues its recursive process.

    }

    }

  • How to speed up composition when you work with files open exr?

    The main issue is covered by the title, but to help give you some background, here is a concise summary of my workflow:

    I hope someone can help.

    I produce 3d animations composited .exr files saved out of 3ds max with vray.

    I usually use separate .exr sequences for each of the items to make... rgb, reflections, the hardware ID etc... rather than recording a sequence unique .exr with all items incorporated in each frame.

    I do it for flexibility, but I'm open to the idea of using the second approach above - certainly easier search and replacement of files sequences fact.

    I find the somewhat slow Extractor plugin loading several exrs sequences and even a single sequence is so much slower that other files formats I can watch other floating point options.

    I tried the new cache for exr CC 2014 files options, but it is still slow.

    Files are stored on a single 2 TB internal sata hd drive but performance seems no different when the composition of a flash ssd drive internal or ssd in another pc on the network.

    Strangely, an external drive plugged into usb 2 or 3 seems faster, after several trials but way still slower than png, tiff etc...

    Any suggestions on improving my workflow for faster feedback from EI?

    Thank you very much

    I stuck with 16-bit when possible. This has the advantage that 3D programs themselves make a conversion to integer values, and there is so little about consistent across formats and applications based on standardized assumptions like that and space sRGB and Gamma. 16 bit TIFF is quite powerful in AE. Problems with float TIFF and HDR files are pretty well planned, because all I know is no interval of fixed value defined in the file format specifications and everyone uses their own mishmash. Inevitably, you can't completely eliminate EXR, but you can book it for things you actually need as usual or motion vector passes. in my workflow certainly hacky inflate a 16-bit to 32-bit file never made much of a difference of 32-bit native files, but of course you can use subtly lit scenes al lthe night where it could be more relevant than for my reasonably evenly lit technical visualizations and motion graphics all...

    Also, what are the steps to getting started?  Buy the codec, load the codec... Are there other measures to work with files in first?

    CS5 has native support for AVCHD... for CS4, I think that you must convert to HDV (or, perhaps, to buy a commercial CODEC to install)

  • Problem hearing with files of Olympus PCM multitrack

    I recently bought the Olympus LS-100, and I have serious difficulties with the audio files in PCM format when you work with them in Adobe Audition CS5.5. I used Adobe Audition for many years.

    When inserting a PCM file recorded in the LS-100 and Audition multitrack session, the file is not inserted at the beginning of the session - as is normal, but rather to an unexpected situation. For example, a file has been inserted to 18:00:50.541; It's 18 hours, 0 minutes, 50,541 seconds. All the LS-100 PCM files I've tried have been inserted to unexpected similar positions, several hours in the multitrack session, rather than at the beginning.

    The files from my Olympus DM-901, recently purchased, PCM has a similar behavior.

    However, the mp3 files on both machines exhibit normal behavior, insert at the beginning of the multitrack session.

    PCM files saved in other audio recorders insert at the beginning of multitrack sessions. In fact, I had never known anything else until I started working with files from Olympus. Can you please explain to me what is happening, and how can I solve the problem?

    Thank you.

    By default, we insert clips at the location of their embedded timecode.  In your case, I bet that the olympus recorders are embedding time of day when the recording has started.  You can disable it in preferences, or you can manually drag + drop at their insertion in multitrack clips:

  • Pathfinder does not work with some GIS product cards

    I am trying to unite these two objects (Illustrator CC). As you can see on the layers palette, they are both simple (non-transparent) routes, and they overlap. Nothing happens when I try to unite them into a single object. Happens to me quite often when you work with files that WERE out of ArcGIS. Sometimes unit works, sometimes it doesn't.

    I also have problems with divide them items below or Pathfinder > divide with GIS maps. But it's probably a problem for another post.

    Close up.png

    Well, what I've found, it's that you have too many points in the objects that you are trying to Union. I used object > path > simplify with a value of 100% accuracy of the curve. The number of points in the two outdated railways 33 000 which is very difficult to treat the AI. The simplified version has only 6 400 or more points and can be worked with. • Problems with files of Point high vector (anchors)

    anyone else having major performance issues while working in files with a large NUMBER of vector points / anchor? I have a very fast system (Intel i7 5960 x 8core running up to 4.7 Ghz w / Turbo Boost w / 32 GB of Corsair Memory & running on dual SSD pro Samsung 850 s.) Just like a Nvidea GTX card 980) plus all the great execution files, but get a file with a lot of anchor points and BAM... slows down to a crawl!  Very frustrating!

    Thanks for any idea to help boost performance or work with files of upper anchor point.

    Brett

    Brett,

    When you work with the file that has a lot of vector points. Try to work in mode plotted, if you can and if it works for you. Don't forget with all complex vectors, the screen must redraw which takes the application memory when you move or update the object/drawing. If you try to resize the chart at a size smaller than work with it and then expand to a normal size when you are ready for the final version of the file.

    It can help.

    Thank you

  • Streaming HTTP only works with F4M?

    I'm building a video player and would like to be able to search any part of my videos (flv and mp4).

    Here is my code:

    var video: VideoElement = new VideoElement (new StreamingURLResource (url, StreamType.RECORDED, startTime), new HTTPStreamingNetLoader());

    but my mediaPlayer.canSeekTo (time) returns false if it is not downloaded yet, so I can't get to any part of my videos.

    Does HTTP Streaming OSMF classes only works with files f4m and stuffs of Adobe (file Packager and original Module) (http://www.adobe.com/products/httpdynamicstreaming/)?

    If I want to use with any other HTTP Pseudo-Streaming as http://h264.code-shop.com/trac I would have to handle each request to look for myself (if its returns false to canSeekTo()) as a new video?

    PS: I'm already targeting flash player 10.1 (CONFIG::FLASH_10_1, true)

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

    Yes, you must run the package on each file manager.

    If you are working on a large video portal, in the long term, it should pay to use the Packager - since you'll be packing your video assets in a manner easily cached by routers, proxies, etc.
