Would it not possible to replace my optical drive in my series Vaio E with a SSD

I have an Vaio E series SVE14A27CXH. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove my optical drive and replace it with a SSD then put Windows 8 on the SSD to speed up boot time.

mutiger16,

It might be possible to replace the optical drive with an optical drive for SSD conversion kit, but I'm not sure that it starts from this Bay.  My estimate is that it can, but I can't guarantee it will work...

8GB is the max RAM for your laptop. Just do a search on Google with HP dv7-4069wm and memory upgrade as keywords.

Guaranteed only purchase compatible mempry modules suppliers.  Replace the 2 GB installed with two 4 GB memory modules.

I have never had problem with discs SSD OCZTechnology. I give them my preference between the two products you requested.  OCZ has the best support in the industry of memory.  My experience with the OCZTechnology to give them a big thumbs up for the quality of the products and support.

  • not replacing the hard drive on a computer hp laptop with a ssd invalid warranty or care pkg?

I do not see why it would invalidate the it. Just keep the original hard drive to the warranty period and after that do what you want. You can (I guess) increase the RAM or HARD drive under warranty (using products listed under reference numbers in service manuals) so why not swap a hard drive for an ssd? However, the guarantee only covers failures related to the EHR. It won't have a negative impact on the laptop, but I wouldn't call HP customer care first.

  • Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD? or would it be too expensive?

Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD?

or would it be too expensive?

Yes.  There are several alternatives.  I found a way relatively inexpensive, using a map of mSATA (very small SSD) and an adapter to connect it to the connector IDE 44 pin internal of my PowerBook.  It works very well.  Rather than repeat what I posted previously, you can watch these two topics (which also has good info, other users)

FYI - I have used the adapter is even cheaper now

I saw there are several videos helping to remove the top cover and replace the optical drive. But it does not expressly say that the optical drive can be replaced by a hard drive.

Yes you can. Here's the part you have to do with. Just remove the optical drive, add a hard disk in one of these adapters and replace it for the optical drive:

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You may also need to swap the façade of the old optical disc to make the installation of good look.

I wouldn't use this for one SSD. An SSD belonged to the main disk space to enjoy the speed. The drive into the optical drive adapter will not be bootable and it will be not given quite as fast as the main hard drive transfer speeds. So if you have a drive in this card, a big (1 TB) and slow (5400 RPM) drive would be preferable. It will be purely for storage and it is still fast enough to see the video of for example but if you are doing video editing I would try not to edit videos from the optical drive Bay. Move them to the fastest reader first.

  • Replaced the optical drive with an SSD, but how do we install Lenovo Windows 8.1 on it?

For clean installation try to download Microsoft Media creation tool first. Using the tool, you can download a copy of the Win 8.1 installer. Save 8.1 only and not the PRO. During installation, the installation program does not the product key but it detect automatically your bios.

You will need to place the ssd instead of the original location of the hard drive to boot successfully.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01713747.PDF

Replacement of optical discs with reference numbers HP are in Chapter 3, page 33.

You can also read the instructions in Chapter 4 on removing the drive and get the number off of it, which is normally on a white sticker.  A reference to 6 digit-3 digit number (123456-001)

You can search by the number of coin on eBay for a used camera but work or you can probably buy a new one at HP by entering the part number on the link below.

  • Would it not possible to see calls suspended in other lines as well

    Hello

When a call is on hold, it is visible in the suspended queue calls. Is it not possible to see the suspension of calls in other queues so (Calls Outstanding, your group calls)?

Is it possible to disable the call suspention in VSM?

    Thank you

    Hello

Lists in circulation filters are fairly easily customizable (Okay okay, it's easy in case if you have a little experience reading/editing xml files and understanding of sql queries):

All of these filters and queries of joins are defined in the file Config/config xml - browseviews.xml. You can take a look and try changing some filter conditions for suspending criteria.

Check the other forum discussions, there are several messages with advice and informed about this.

Please do not hesitate to contact if you need assistance.

I doubt that much is it possible to disable the suspension of appeal device in the system. But who knows...

  • Satellite L650 - 10 H - replace the optical drive of a second HDD/SSD?

    Hello
Is it possible to replace the DVD burner with a second hard drive or an SSD?

    Thank you
    Michael.

    Hello

First of all I don't know why would you refrain from ODD... I always use ODD and it fail...

Well, some laptops as Tecra has supported this feature.
For that you need a special envelope where the HARD drive is placed.
This Chamber was placed in the Bay of ODD.

But I m not very well if L650 model that would support personally I doubt it would work because of the controller on the motherboard.

However, if you want to be safe, I would recommend an ASP in your country you asking if a compatible box be available satellite L650.

  • HP Pavilion 15-e073ca: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion e073ca 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hello!

I intend to add an SSD in my two years 15-e073ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

In other words, there is my plan:

1 remove the real disk HDD hard bay and replace it with the new SSD.

    2. remove the optical drive and replace it with the adapter caddy containing my old HDD.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD, using a recovery USB stick made with my system Windows 10 real (which has been updated from Windows 8.1).

I plan to purchase the following parts:

    1 - a HDD / SSD cart adapter for HP Pavilion 15 (model OBHD9-SATA-SATA-BU9), of NewmodeUS (http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=583)

    2 - a SSD 128 GB (article SDSSDHP - 128G), SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-plus/?capacity=128gb)

I have a few questions before I buy parts:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 - the height of the SSD is 7mm, and it seems that my old HDD is 9.5 mm in height (model WDC WD10JPVT-60A1YT0). It would cause no problem (I need to add spacers)?

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Haghe

Your plan is perfect. The SSD to will of 7 mm that always come back fine it just will be lower in the caddy. The holes and SATA connections are in the same place as a hard drive of 9.5 mm. You can use a spacer (many SSD include one in the box) but not really necessary.

Installing SSD for Windows 10 the way you expect is not really "own", that he will again introduce files and programs, in my opinion and certainly drivers. Whatever it is, it works perfectly and activates the old installation has been enabled.

The hard disk in the optical adapter will not be bootable and will transfer the data a bit slower than a drive in the main compartment, but will still be usable for most cases. If you need fast input/output like Photoshop or video editing move the job file to the first SSD. Alternatively, you may wish to consider documents and photos and other migration on the HARD drive to keep the 128 GB SSD to fill. You can right-click on these files and select 'place' and move them. After the back if you need some help with that.

    Enjoy.

I have a few questions before buying the adapter:

2 should. What size the card be? I found offers for 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm that are supposed to be suitable for HP Pavilion in general

p.s. in this section of the forum (where I took most of the post), the solution worked almost perfectly, but it's a different product of the Pavilion 15 ^^

    Hello

    1. Yes,

    2. your machines use 9.5 mm SATA Tray,

3 problem? I can't answer this question because who knows nothing until the track.

    4. I don't know how you create USB recovery but a good new installation should work.

  • G4 1303 AU Pavilion: to replace my optical drive with ssd

My laptop is too slow and an upgrade I had already increased my ram from 2 GB to 6 GB now since I've had a spair ssd. So, I think to remove my optical drive with an ssd. This upgrade is possible for my laptop. Also any other suggetions are necessary because it is fairly old laptop and I got some spair parts change.

Don't you attach it to a SATA - I interface. It's fast enough for ordinary stuff and you can play a video or .mp3 her but it wouldn't be good for video editing, photoshop, etc. Better to slow down the mechanical transmission that isn't too fast anyway, but is cheap, as cheap and fast SSD. You want to give it a chance to work at its optimum speed that only happens if plug you it into the port SATA internal.
