Wp8/Xbox user - should I upgrade to Windows 8, or listen to the negative cries against the metro Interface?

I am a happy user of Windows Phone 8. Should given I upgrade my laptop years (without touchscreen) of Windows 7 to the new 8?

It seems that Windows 8 really is faster, more stable, more secure, but proposes drastic changes wildly 7. My main thought it would be cool to have the operating system that is unified through WP8, Windows and Xbox, should I switch to Windows 8?

Any response is welcome and very much appreciated - I've been mulling over the thought for two weeks now, but am being repelled by negative feedback of the UI screen Windows 8 start. What are suggestions? Too early to consider?

Do not use Metro user interface. No right to say that you need. Install something like the classic interface, which will give you a menu. And you can skip the subway altogether

Although I would like to do a clean install of Win8 if you can. Just make sure you buy the version of Win8 allows you. Too many people having problems updating Win8 after its been installed. I think people have had probs update WIn8 on HP / Dell (and perhaps other) laptops or computers that have been updated to Win7, it did not clean installs.

Equipment and / or programs that migrate to Win7 for Win8 (if you upgrade) on most of them ceases to WIn8 to update correctly. Some people got delete all programs or everything to do with the material (before trying to install some subsequent updates for Win8).

Otherwise, they will never install. me that I did a clean install and have been fine since. Even after all the WIn8 will update probably because its not HP or Dell. I build my own. Has too much of a hassle with loan / systems because of our days. And they install too * / garbage on them

And smartglass is pretty cool. If you have something that supports.

Also note if you're using media center, it does not come with WIn8. But MS are distributing keys for it but it MUST be activated prior to January 31, 2013, I think that it is

And Media player does not support the DVD. Done only Media center

  • How do I upgrade to Windows 7 Pro without reinstalling the operating system?

I have a client who is moving from a workgroup to a domain based network.  About half of the computers are Windows 7 Home edition.  I need to upgrade to Pro so I can join the domain.  I was not able to find an easy way to do it since Anytime Upgrade no longer works on Windows 7.  The only time I did, I had to by a free license key and ended up having to completely reinstall the operating system.  So, how can I switch to Win 7 Pro without reinstallation of the operating system or go to Windows 8.

Unfortunately, your only option now would be to buy a full version or upgrade to Windows 7 professional retail license and use the product key with the Express Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Wizard. It is, it's expensive:

Where can I still get Windows 7?

    Full version-

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional

    Version upgrade-

    Microsoft Windows 7 Professional upgrade

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

    Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade fails:

If your getting the following: error: Windows Anytime Upgrade failed
This problem may occur if Windows 7 SP1 was downloaded by Windows Update, but has not yet been installed.
    See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2660811

Windows Anytime Upgrade fails with the error:
"every time that the upgrade has failed. Go online to solve the problem.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2658652

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work:

Shut down and restart your computer.

Make sure that the Windows updates have been installed.

Download the hotfix that contains a tool called CheckSUR, this tool will look at the package and the maintenance of records and difficulty any data corrupted, the tool is listed under kb947821 he can be found at the following link http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=947821

If Anytime Upgrade still does not work, turn off the user account control:

    1. go in user accounts in Control Panel

2 change user account control settings

    3. pull the slider to the level as low as possible

    4. restart the PC

    5. pass by the "Anytime Upgrade" as usual

    Try the following:

1 disable any security software before attempting to upgrade

    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)

    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.

    4. check your hard disk for errors:

    Click Start

Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD

    Click on "Run as Administrator"

At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    User account control permission

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

    5. click on OK.

    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

You will need to purchase a full commercial copy of Windows 7 and do a clean install. You cannot use a Windows XP hacked as an operating system that you are eligible for an upgrade. Make sure that there are Windows 7 drivers for the hardware of the laptop. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • HP pavilion g6: should I upgrade to windows 10

    Hello

I wanted to know if I should upgrade to windows 10 or not.

I checked my pc with the windows 10 application and he said that your computer meets all the requirements. But I wanted to know whether or not windows 10 is a stable operating system.

When I bought my pc it ran Windows 8 and I have upgraded to windows 8.1. My pc has a few small problems since then.

Most of them slipped, but there is a little. I have not found windows 8.1 as a stable OS, it has flaws and is not fluid.

And if windows 10 is good, then tell me how should I update. I saw there are two types of upgrade. One is to you

move all your files and software for windows a 10 and the other is that you start over completely. So what I should how and

    should I upgrade?

You can't pass a test of Windows 7 (RC) version to the retail version.

You can buy a FULL Windows 7 Ultimate version to do what you want to do.

What version of Windows 7, you buy, you will need to do a clean install of it with a full version of Windows 7.

I have a desktop HP with Windows 7 Pro and since last week, it will fail to start.   It seems that it is approaching, but everything does not end.    I would just buy a new SSD and upgrade to Windows 10.      I don't have Windows 7 installation floppies, but the license key is on the case of the office.      What are my options?   Hopefully I won't need to buy Windows because my hard drive has failed.

    Hello

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Community. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your interest for Windows 10.

The license key of the operating system is integrated into the motherboard. To enable Windows 10 without facing any errors, you must activate the previous version of Windows with a valid license key, and then proceed to the upgrade.

If you replace the SSD HARD drive, you must activate the previous Windows, i.e. Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 version, if it is a true copy as well as the activation key and then upgrade to Windows 10.

Since you do not have an installation disc, I suggest to create one by downloading the ISO image of Windows 7 on a CD or USB key and check if you are able to download the operating system.
