Write Protection Removal

Afternoon:

I have a particular dilemma. Last Eve. I went to put a file on a 16 GB Lexar flash drive. He says it is "write-protected"?

I've never added all such parameter and now wonder #1. How to remove write protection ' ' #2. How she came here in the first place? I have read various posts on the deletion of this "protection", but none worked (using MSWin7). I have the files I want to "saved" but cannot "format", or remove the "write protection". Hope someone has the answer.

Thank you:

Rick

  • How to remove the floppy write protection

How can I remove write Protection from a disk 1.3 MB

Sometimes the switch 'cursor' on diskettes 3,5 "bit was removed (to create the disk read-only permanently). If this is the case, then just put a piece of opaque tape over the 'hole' (where the slider switch was)... and you'll be able to write to the diskette.

If you hold the diskette if you are looking at the rear, the slider switch (or a hole where was the slide switch) is at the bottom RIGHT.

Please note that the 3.5-inch disks came in various capacities (the two most common are 720 KB and 1.44 MB. If you hold the diskette, then you're looking at the back, then there will be a hole on the bottom LEFT, which is used to indicate the command what is the capacity of the disk. If my memory is good, there will be a hole in the bottom LEFT (when you see the back of the disc), for drives with capacity of 1.44 MB, and if no hole is on bottom LEFT, then the floppy drive is 720 KB.

My point... If you need to put a piece of opaque tape over the hole where the playback cursor / writing has been (to make writable disk), don't forget to put tape over the hole at the bottom RIGHT (looking at the BACK of the disc... and 'back', I mean the side without label and where can be seen the axis of the disc).

  • How can I remove a USB write protection

my USB is write-protected how to remove it?

    Hello

What operating system do you use?

Write protection is a feature found on many different types of media. When the write protection is turned on, you will be able to view the information on the disc or USB key, but you won't be able to write or transfer information to it.

Write protection is an element of protection which prevents accidental deletion of important data. Sometimes turning off the write protection is as simple as uncapping the USB key to find a manual switch. If your player lacks an external switch, the procedure requires a few steps to complete.

    (a) turn on your computer and plug the drive after that your operating system is loaded.

    (b) open 'My computer' and the list of readers of research until you find your USB drive letter

    (c) right click on the name, then click 'properties '. Browse the tabs until you see the option to remove the write protection. If this does not work, proceed to the next step.

    (d) visit the website of the company for your USB key. Go to the help or support section and search for "write protect".

    (e) search the Internet for software that will remove the write protection. Download the program and install it on your computer.

    (f) open the software. Follow the instructions to remove your USB write protection.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to remove photographs write protection?

I am trying to copy photos to my computer and the external hard drive on a SD card, and each photo is said is "write protected" and delete, or use another disk. He is a recent problem because until a few weeks I never had this problem at all. I am running Windows XP card SD is unlocked and I use a card reader on my Dell D610 laptop. My external hard drive has all my photos on it and I used it for years with no problems whatsoever, so I'm kind of confused as to why this is happening now.  Any help would be appreciated!

Digital images that are 'Read only' can still
be copied... they just cannot be changed and
saved... so it's not the problem.

I suspect that the problem may be due to the
number of files that are copied in the
the root directory of the SD card.

This limit varies depending on the size of the
card, but it is far from full capacity
    of the card.

Normally, this generates a dialog box stating:
"The file or directory could not be created.

This can be overcome by placing the files
    in the files.

(FWIW... you may need to delete some
files to make room for folders)
