  I advise you to immediately copies of your DBX files restored. Save the duplicates in a place safe, and don't mess with them.
  Then try using one of the various tutorials that you have found on the Internet by using a copy of your DBX files restored.

  Hello burtech, I wouldn't recommend using the HP backup program or the Windows backup program to backup my system.

  There have been many members who have reported many problems, try to restore the files by using these programs.

  I suggest you to acquire a hard drive image software. These programs can do a mirror image of the hard drive and save it in another location, on a second hard drive or an external hard drive.

  If the system is damaged, just insert a CD in the optical drive and boot the system, select the hard disk image and restore the system as it was when the hard disk images has been created. It takes less than 30 minutes, depending on the speed of your system.

  You would need to make a new hard disk image from time to time, according to the Windows updates or other changes to your system. I usually do one at least every week, or more often if necessary.

  I use Acronis for that purpose, but there are several other very good programs that do the same thing as well.

Is there a way to safely remove external hard drives without going through the routine "eject safely.   Thanks for your reply.

  Since my first question on this topic yesterday, I have since rediscovered the path that I took two years ago to upgrade my computers in a mode of "quick release". Affecting the computers 'Fast moving' allows me to plug the device I want to use, open the file and when you're done just to remove the USB device without formally engaging the button 'Remove the device safely' at the bottom right of the screen. The option "Fast moving" indicates it where you make your selection. I used this method for the readers of 640GO Pocket nearly two years on a daily basis with two separate HP and assorted small Sandisk flash drives.   You can create the backup to an external drive instead of DVD.

  Repairing system drives help you start the recovery process of fixing problems starting or using the image to restore windows.

  You can verify the installation by going to the following location

  C:\Windows - if you scroll down you will see the twain_32 folder. If this folder is missing, then you cannot scan with the HP software and also sounds of it your banks. Just check its there. In general will be created or updated during the installation.

  You can also run the PSDR, fix analyses the question and it will list the twain driver.
