X120e running too hot?

I like to do heavy multitasking on my new x120e w / an e-350 processor, but when I checked the time core cpu on speedfan, I got 80 degrees Celcius! Is - too hot for my processor or what? I don't know if these temperatures will cause damage to my processor. Please inform me about it, because I don't want to take the risk of damaging my new laptop, and when I put the cpu under heavy loads, kernel time are usually only around 40 to 50 degrees C. When I check the Task Manager, cpu indeed constantly runs at 100% when I do it heavy. Is it bad for the cpu, or what? Thank you.

90 c is the limit according to AMD (http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopAPUDetail.aspx?id=1&f1=AMD+Dual-Core+Processor+E-350&f2=E-350+w...), so you are safe... but it's still pretty hot. Have you tried TPfancontrol (http://www.staff.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/donate.html)? In my view, that bed worth even the ventilation in the BIOS readings, the temperature controller must be enough said. You can also try to run the fan to the max and see if this is useful (although I think the BIOS do anyway, if you were in danger of the approach of the thermal limit of the processor).

We recently purchased 6 Dell machines. 3 who are Latitude 15 5000 with the Intel core processors 5.

When we arrived the new laptops, we went immediately the OS to Ubuntu for latitude computers. Two of them are quite good, but one of them is running unusually hot.

It takes only 5 minutes of regular use to reach the point where the laptop is uncomfortably hot. We checked the processes running (with the 'top' command), and it doesn't seem to be anything unusual.

Anyone have any suggestions on what we can be missing. Thank you.

  • Mac Book Pro is not too hot.  It is time to replace the battery?  Can I replace the battery?

MacBookPro is not too hot.  It's time to change the battery?  Can I do it myself?

The Mac runs his fans in a feedback loop, based of the internal temperature measured.

If the temperature goes up and the fans are not speed up to compensate, you probably have a hardware problem.

If the Mac becomes too hot, it will make an uncontrolled emergency power off.

EDIT: Replacing the battery is a completely separable question not related to temperature. Is the Samsung phone batteries that catch fire, not Mac.

  • Tecra 8100 CPU gets too hot

Well, some may remember my previous post about the fan activation in my Tecra 8100.

This laptop came to me as a gift by a customer, because the screen didn't work. After some research, the problem was the internal cold cathode that was broken. Once replaced: Yes! a free book for me! It was a Pentium III 650 Mobile, with 64 MB of RAM and a 12 GB hard drive. I replaced all the components (which are now on sale, btw), and now has a Pentium III 850 Mobile, 512 MB of RAM and a 40 GB hard drive. Someone gave me a card PCMCIA of WiFi 11 Mbit/s, and now how it works with Windows XP Professional and updated Toshiba Utilities and drivers downloaded from Toshiba USA.

What's the buzz? SpeedFan, Motherboard Monitor and other monitoring utilities reported temperatures up 72a? Aºc in the processor. I opened the computer laptop and put thermal paste instead of the sticker that has the heat sink. Temperature guard high and utilities Toshiba even with parameters ' cooling high performance "does not have the fan to cool the cpu...

I hangs at all, but the business cards and pcmcia laptop have too hot even with the system works with any of the applications running. Lowering of the CPU clock or the ratio helps not at all.

I think putting a fan somewhere extra to force air circulation and that cool the cpu, unless...

... Toshiba could develop a utility that allows you to directly control the fan speed. I don't know if the thermal management is hardware or software-driven. If it is a software-driven, it should be easy to create a utility that directly access the fan and temperature records. It would be MUCH better than simply let the computer decide when and how long to activate the fan.

I'm sure that Toshiba engineers are busy with more important things which will not create the utility for us, so...

.. What to check or do to cool the CPU at more appropriate values?

    Thank you all!

    Hello

As in you previous announcement describes the Toshiba power saver controls the CPU and fan usage.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=12585
This software works very well, and if you use the laptop as prescribed, you should not get all the problems and overheating problems.

The problem is that you have changed all the devices and parts on you laptop. The new parts are effective, but produce more heat.
On the laptop you can cool the CPU with a small fan, and if she goes out, it is necessary to decrease the performance of the processor.
It is a simple fact. All these functions can be set with energy saver.
In addition, it is very important that your cooling module is clear and free from dust and debris obstruct the work of fan.

  • Satellie Pro P100 - overheating or too hot

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P100, PSPAEE, that runs way too hot, the GET so hot that I have to stop using it as my hand keyboard and the base is sick after getting too hot.

It all started when I did a lot of driver and BIOS updates, because I have them all at the same time it is difficult to know if it is a driver or the last BIOS that causes this problem.

Before I got them used fan be racing monte and down constantly like a yoyo, even when it is cold, the BIOS updated has now run fairly regularly but I don't think it of this or not, this alone.

I don't see a older BIOS on the support pages so don't think that I can do this backward. I've seen a few posts about having to use the Toshiba NVIDIA video drivers, otherwise it can overheat, but all my drivers are of Toshiba.

Toshiba Support or anyone else has any ideas, what happened only since the BIOS and update the driver so I can't imagine it's only my machine who suffers with this.

    Thank you

    Hello

Have you tried to clean up your laptop using a jet of compressed air? This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. I always use a can of compressed air to clean my laptop because it is very easy and I you must remove.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what are the OS you have installed.

Have you downloaded the BIOS for your laptop model (PSPAEE)?

If you Windows XP, you can change the method of cooling and Toshiba Power Saver under Vista in power options.
    Check it!

And since I've updated the driver sound in August this year, the sound may not be performed correctly. The sound card is not identified by diff. progs. MP3 direct cut and sound blaster, during the race.
I can't save anything! So bad!

Clean the laptop? You can use spry compressed air could blow the dust from the cooling fans. So do not disassemble anything.

Which audio driver use? Toshiba or manufacturing as Realtek? Maybe there already is a new or try again with the old driver.

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.
It is just like it loses power or stop it in the normal way? Keep in mind
This associated heat does not always mean too much heat as it is often a part or a component

Remove ALL power and reinstall all the memory cards and cables (both ends where possible).
in fact, remove and replace - don't do not just tight. Remove the dust bunnies and clean the

  • How hot is too hot for a laptop

My new laptop dv7t Quad edition was delivered recently and I wonder about the heat issue that others have mentioned.  The computer does not become too hot to the touch, but there are hot air coming out of the event, almost all the time. When I have several programs running that fan seems to come on fairly often, I understand, that's what he must do.

How can you tell if the laptop is too hot?  A little heat is inevitable for an i7 processor?

I love really all the features of the computer, but I want to make sure it's ok before day 21 return period has elapsed.

    Thank you.

    Jack

To my knowledge, Maximum allowed for the Core i7, the temperature is 100 ° C and recommended is 80 ° C. If it heats up more, the processor will allow thermal control, i.e. the Vcore frequency multiplier and clock will be forced up to 12 x. This protects the die of the processor against dangerous overheating.

The flow of warm air from the vents is by design of the laptop. This is the reason for having the vents.

Whenever the load on the system increases, the temperature rises. When the temperature inside the system increases, the fan speed increases.

  • M7 MacBook 1.3 GHz running more hot than the 1.2 GHz m5?

Does anyone have experience with this? The new m7 Skylake 1.3 GHz running more hot than the 1.2 GHz m5?

I hate having a computer warm on my knees, so I tend to buy the m5 to 1.2 GHz. However, I wonder what it is ' has really a lot of difference in actual use. Someone at - it a glimpse of this?

    Thank you!

Hi Joel, any CPU which is clocked to run at a higher speed will have a slightly higher temperature if both the Broadwell Core M in 2015 Macbook and Skylake processor in the Macbook from 2016 offer low quantity of heat compared to the current MacBook Pro line. If you are still worried I recommend to visit an Apple store or dealer with a MacBook running all day to feel authorized intrados.

I bought a Satellite A300 last week and I noticed that when I use the computer for an hour or so the touchpad becomes very hot.
And also the area of the left hand next to the touchpad.

Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce it?

    Thank you

    Pedro.

    Hi Pedro,

I put t know what what is for you hot and wasn't, but on my Toshiba Satellite laptop I've never had a problem that it too hot.

Normally, I recommend to clean the laptop with a jet of compressed air, but I think that is not necessary because the laptop is only a week.
Maybe the fan or the heatpipe is malfunctioning. Or the thermal grease to be renewed

I put t know but in your case, I would go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and it should be free, because the laptop must be under warranty if it s a week-old.

    Hello

The fan that was installed in the satellite P100 expected works well and should be able to cool the CPU without any problem.
I recommend you to check the settings in the energy saver. There, you can choose between different modes.
It is also important that the fan grids are free. The air circulation is very important for the cooling of the processor
