  • Standard Adobe Acrobat 7.0 - error missing "resource files".

Have just changed to a new workstation running Windows 7 (64-bit), while the old computer was running windows 7 (32 bit).

A copy bought Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard and after much struggle Adobe support online was told the CS2 download site and I downloaded the file and opened and installed. However it does not work properly problems as follows:

I noticed during installation it said unable to create a PDF printer (I have both 2016 Word and Word 2003 on the PC)- but now see main point below where this error message is given in detail...

Have tried to use 'create PDF' to a word 2003 document as a PDF. Does not work as a pop-up window States:

"Cannot find resource 'Adobe PDF' files.

You want to run the installer in repair mode?

I tried selecting Yes on this point-in which case crosses indicating that Windows is configure Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and that it's 'get information' while he receive the same error message on the printer, which, in its entirety, is as follows:

WARNING 20225. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup failed

to create a new item: Adobe PDF Port / printer. The

Adobe PDF printer may be unavailable.

LastError Get: The operation completed successfully.

If and then click [ok] - the only option... then restart and reopen Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard get the same error (cannot find resource 'Adobe PDF' files)

Have also tried to do a right click on the program and select 'troubleshoot compatabiity '. It said it asked

Windows compatibility mode: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

But make the same mistakes when trying this.

As the program has worked on the old workstation that was running Windows 7.0 cannto work on why it won't work now.

    Help please!

    Nick H

You might be able to patch up some problems, but you can't make it work properly on this system not supported. The Adobe PDF in Acrobat 7 printer driver is only for 32-bit systems. It is also required by the PDFMaker Office functions, which therefore cannot work.

  • How can I resinstall Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard?

Adobe Acrobat 9 has stopped working on my computer and has rather shown error message indicating that there was a problem with my license agreement. The message says that I have to UNINSTALL and reinstall, however I can't find a download for Adobe Acrobat 9, and I already uninstalled Acrobat 9 Standard. I can only find Adobe Acrobat XI. In addition, when I try to install the 'standard' Adobe Acrobat XI version, it brings me only to a "Pro" web page Then, I gives me only 2 options... to BUY or install the trial version. In addition, I cant even install the Trial Version in my 'Programs' folder due to another error message saying there is a conflict with Windows. How to bring back my original version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard so that I can reinstall and present my original serial number?

Excellent thanks for the Tammy update!  I would recommend that you save the installation files in case you need the installation in the future files.

If the future audience of this discussion are able to view their order but are unable to start the download, then please contact our support team for re - activate the download.  You can contact our support to http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6team.  Again this will be possible if the download option was chosen at the time of purchase and you have purchased the software from Adobe directly.

  • a pro Adobe Acrobat DC license (12) + media. Need Acrobat 9 for maximum compression

    Hi forum,

I have a computer that has lost in standard Adobe Acrobat 9 upgrade to Win10. Lack of support and license, it has been decided to buy the latest version of Adobe Acrobat; 12 / DC. I installed it on the computer and it works fine, but there is a problem:

The license is essentially used to compress pdf files using the pdf with "max compression" enabled printer. The reason is that pdf files must be sent by satellite, so does the size matter here...

We had yet another computer running Adobe Acrobat 9, so it was easy to compare the compression of 9 and 12 vs / DC. Version 12 is between 40-60% worse compression. My answer was to download Adobe Acrobat 9download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9' , but I get a "invalid series" when I try to use the key to 12/CC. I thought you could use the previous versions, but that doesn't seem to be the case? Is there a previous version, that I can use here? The license is:

Professional Acrobat product Version 12.0, bought as the use license/no benefit of teaching

    Alternatives? :

    1. have you tried many compressors of pdf online with similar poor results compared to Acrobat 9, it seems as if it was the only tool capable to realize the text (the photos are deleted) compression of 50% +.

    2. in addition to the selection "Max compression", 72 dpi and removed the metatags and the built-in fonts, the rest of the configuration in vs 12 is the default because it is the configuration in vs 9. If you can point to other settings in vs 12 that can improve compression, please notify

Best regards and thanks in advance

    John Heinonen

An update from me about the problem. I talked to Adobe Support cat, who confirmed that I can not use the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC / 12 version on any of the files binary installation from the Adobe homepage. Simply because Acrobat vs 9 is no longer supported. I received a few URL support that actually increased the size of the file when you use Save as with the optimization function compared to save it as a pdf from the word:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/using/Optimizing-PDFs-Acrobat-Pro.html

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/using/saving-PDFs.html#reduce_file_size_by_saving

But it made me go back to print to pdf function as I noticed there are a lot more options for tweaking to improve the size of the file. After reading the above items and tweaking around the print function, I managed to compress pdf files even better than version 9, Mission accomplished :-)

Thanks for your comments all :-)

    Hi basically,

Note: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • Install Adobe DC Pro Adobe Acrobat Standard XI has already installed?

    Greetings!

I have a scenario where a client is running Adobe Acrobat Standard Xi on a Citrix/Terminal Server.

Now, they want to install Adobe DC Pro on the same server, which should be used by a single user.

When I run the Adobe Pro DC installation it calls telling me that it is not recommended to have these programs installed at the same time on the same machine. But there is an option to choose "ignore."

I google and read this article: using Acrobat X, XI, and DC on the same machine

And also this: Acrobat DC uninstalled Acrobat XI | How to get Acrobat XI

But I'm still not sure how to progress.

What is the disadvantage of having this two programs installed?

Function that will be / could be troubling?

    Thanks in advance.

    the downside is

    1. xi acrobat probably will not open (but it might) and, if this is the case, can have a variety of problems such as not being able to edit or save a file.

2 acrobat CC can (but probably won't) have a problem opening.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard DC not install!

I have a Lenovo T450s which is less than a year.  It came with Windows 7 Professional. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Standard DC and had no problem installing. I've updated to Windows OS professional 10 and had problems recently with Adobe Acrobat Standard DC so I uninstalled the program to reinstall it with the same product key. Now, it will not install. I get a error message that says "this application cannot be installed on this operating system. The installation program will end now. Please refer to the minimum requirements to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_system_reqs

Now, surely Adobe Acrobat can run on Windows OS 10. It is extremely frustrating and yet more frustrating that Adobe does not support phone for that matter. I have also already uninstalled Adobe Reader and run the cleanup tool but always this error.

victory 8.1 or win 7 are both ok.
