XMP updated with exiftool does not play

If this question is better suited in another forum, please let me know.

The following PDF example has been used in a workflow where the XMP metadata has been updated with new values ( Sub-property is set to cities).

When you open this file and looking at the meta-data for example Acrobat Pro this new updated information is not seen, but rather, the old XMP stream is read by Acrobat (pdfLib).

The update looks OK as far as I can see, the 54 object has been updated and the new xref table at the end has the byte of decent start for this new stream updated (byte 0022017676). So I can't understand why this new XMP stream is not seen in Acrobat.

Someone sees a mistake in the PDF file, or is there an obvious reason why Acrobat wouldn't read the new XMP stream?

(other software using exiftools extracted the new XMP correctly, I also tested with a tool written in java, pure and which also displays the new update of XMP metadata work as currently)

Link to test PDF (approx. 22 MB)

Dropbox - Test - 20140518.pdf

I think maybe it's to do with trying to do inplace editing on a signed PDF. At best, this would negate the signatures. But since Acrobat, try to maintain the integrity of the signed portion, there may be heuristics to decide to get rid of this stuff.

Thank you very much!   At your suggestion, I've selected out, burn to disc, DVD.  A window shows requiring Save have *.wmv.  OK, reluctantly saves.  Automatically opens first.  Preview has no audio.

Instead of burning to disc, I chose Edit in first.  The preview has the video and audio.  Engraving option asked under wmv.  BUT by selecting the tab burn, then disc, dvd, part took place smoothly and dvd resulting contains actually the audio and the video.  Yes!

She should not be incompatible and hard, but I could never have succeeded without help.

    Thanks again.

I tried, but the video does not play smoothly.  Is this fix really?

There is a possibility that Windows Media Player could
read the file if you rename the MTS to MPG or AVI.

And/or...the suite of freeware Media Player can be
    worth a try.

If this fails, it may be worth trying to convert the MTS file

Next... in the encoding settings... Choose... Video credits.
WMV - Windows Media Video (*.wmv).

Choose an output folder and on the left, click on the button convert.

You can experiment with other settings later but

    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup270.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

  • my window media does not play wen I insert the dvd disc it say that a compatiable device is not install please tell me what I need to do thanks.

Hello my pblem is that my Windows media player does not play wen I insert my dvd disc it say that a compatiable device is not installed please help me thanks in advance

    Hello

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

  • Windows 7 does not play Audio or Audio files into video files

I recently had trouble with my permissions of file being messed up because of a bad Windows Update and after to find most of my problems and access to almost everything I find I can't play audio files such as mp3 or wav in any player (Winamp, iTunes, etc.) or have game audio while watching a video file (I tried VLC).

The strange thing is that audio plays very well while doing something in my web browser, Google Chrome, and I can even open the mp3s in Chrome and have them play. When I try to open an audio file in Windows Media Player, I get an error C00D11B1, else hangs the program or does not play at all, the timer remains at 0. I tried to recharge my programs, codecs and drivers, but to no avail. System Restore is not an option I lost somehow those I had over the screw up that changed my permissions.

  • Audio does not play when editing my calendar...

I had this problem where in my calendar if I press 'play' on the slide so that I can get an overview of how things work, it works through action, but it does not play the sound. I see my audio in the slide, I can hear the audio if I go in the audio editor or on the closed captioning thing closed... but when I'm actually on the timeline, nothing. I can right click on my audio in the timeline and select 'read' a so-called play just the audio, but does not slide.

Anyone know what is happening? It's the second or third project that I had this problem with, I am currently on my updates. I use version 5.0.3.631 and Captivate 5... any help would be appreciated!

  • My episode does not play in the store

My episode is not playing in the store, but it's as a Subscriber.  The circle of game/load just continues to blink.

My podcast is connections with Craig Sherman.

    Your feed is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ConnectionswithCraigSherman

There are three elements in your workflow: only the third is a media file playable. Appears when subscribing but does not play in the store within a reasonable time.

The URL of your file is a Google Feedproxy one and if it works well in a browser it redirects to a URL of Google Drive. Google Reader is not a place appropriate for your media files - it has always caused problems and I advise you to find another host.

My Vista system trying to download the updates, and it does not complete the download. It is up to "Windowsupdate_00000646" and "windowsupdate_dt000" How do I clear this code to receive these updates?

They are only updated office or all updates?

For Office updates, usually to pick up the item at the: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

then manually download and install the same.

If all updates, perhaps consider the following general tips-

Option: File of Windows Update agent wups2.dll is incorrectly registered and the registry associated with the Wups2.dll file files are missing.

Method 1: Save the Windows Update files

    1. Click Start and type notepad in the box start the search.
    2. click on Notepad in the list programs.
    3. copy the following commands, and then paste them into the opened Notepad window:
    REGSVR32 WUPS2. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 STINKS. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 WUAUENG. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 WUAPI. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 WUCLTUX. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 WUWEBV. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 JSCRIPT. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 MSXML3. DLL/S
    4. in Notepad, on the file menu, click Save as.
    5. in the file type list, click all files.
    6. in the file name box, type register.bat.
    7. save the Register.bat file to your desktop.
8 right-click the Register.bat file, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click on continue.
    9. try to reinstall updates.

Click Start, click run, click Browse, navigate to the file you saved and click Open.

Add the switch /wuforce at the end of the command run and then click OK. For example, the command run might look like this: "C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" /wuforce

    Click run.

Follow the steps to complete the wizard.

    Important

To reinstall Windows Update Agent - download the relevant file from one of the links provided above and save it to a drive where Vista is not loaded because the file cannot be launched directly from the root directory of the system.

Click Start, run, type: "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce" (without the quotes) and press ENTER to install the Windows Update engine.

Note: There is a space between "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" and "/ wuforce.
