  I think I found my problem.  Google Chrome seems to interfere with the XPS Viewer.  I uninstalled Chrome and the problem seems to be resolved.  Again, I can view XPS documents.

  Have you tried to uninstall the Microsoft XPS Viewer and then add it back to your computer?
  I just did and was able to add it to my computer running Windows 7.

  You can view documents with IE8 instead of Chrome as a test? It work?

• XPS 8700 earpiece problem

  I currently own a XPS 8700 and I have problems with the use of headphones.

  Unless earphones are plugged in until I press the power button, the computer fails to recognize them. If they are connected before turning on the computer they work fine, I can disconnect and plug them in 10 minutes later and they will appear again and work as expected.

  I tried with several different pairs of headphones, always with the same result.

  Does anyone have suggestions as to how can I fix?

  Yes, I would expect them all the same. As I said, the helmets and headphones are just dumb peripheral analog. But since it works when headphones are connected before starting, then the physical must be OK. Then, that points to a driver or other software problem. Have you tried to update the audio driver?

  I have a Dell XPS L702X of 17 "and my GPU is not used by my applications/games. Instead, it uses the Intel HD 3000 chipset, even when I run on the power configuration high performance and when I whitelist enforcement in the nVidia control panel.

  I did a fresh install of Windows x 64 Pro Edition.

  The laptop came with the A14 bios version. I found an update of the Bios Version on your website and flashed my Bios. This does not help, and this version is no longer on your Web site.

  I tried to install the nVidia drivers present on the CD that came with the laptop, my system was not reckognized.

  I changed the file nvam.inf to fool the installer to accept my system, and the driver has been installed successfully. The problem is still there.

  I installed the nVidia drivers 290,36 (beta) by using the same trick, it still does not work.

  I tried to call the tech support of my coutry (France) and they say they'll call me back today (because they had database problems yesterday), but they did not. Their offices are now closed.

  Everything else (sound, fast setting, wifi etc.) works perfectly. There are discussions on the notebookreview.com forums (I'm not the only one having this problem), but there is still no news about a possible solution.

  My xps 13 (9343) backlight button is not turn on the backlight. When I press the Windows key + X and implement Mobility Center there is no backlight option. Any help would be appreciated.

The option multi gesture suggested that all tapping with three fingers, it will evoke Cortana and everything by sliding upward with three fingers must turn on the switch of the task and drag to the low reduced all windows. But what it actually is: while tapping with 3 fingers evokes Cortana, while sliding to the top, he mentions Cortana and while sliding down, it opens the settings (which is not yet included in the parameters of the multi touch-pad finger gesture).

  Yep, it's a problem with the drivers from Dell which has been around since the beginning of August, at least (just Google and you will see), so clearly, they're never going to correct something. They are too busy to load all of their laptops with new crapware. Useless company.

  XPS 14z has a mini DisplayPort located next to the HDMI port. You will need to use a min-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to connect the monitor to the laptop.

  After you run out of warranty and immediately having HDD, I decided to install an mSATA SSD for faster boot times (with the possibility to keep a large spinning for storage disk). I bought a Liteon M3M 128 GB module and installed in the mini-pci-e slot in the compartment under the laptop.

  After that installation there no change, nothing picked up in the bios, nothing through a live Linux OS, nothing in the installer of windows and nothing in Windows itself (when I gave up and replaced the drive rotating and re-installed).

  I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS (A12) but this does not make any difference, I just googled and there is mention of a disabling Intel RST, but this option is not available for me in BIOS

  Is there something that I have done is wrong, it is likely that the device is defective, do I need some kind of pilots of special controller for installation of windows 7 or is this model of Dell just simply not compatible with mSTATA?

  Hello to all out there. I have a Studio XPS 7100 minitour, and I had a devil of a time to connect this PC to my TV 32 '' to the House. When I got the computer, I've upgraded to a graphics card for games and the card has the usual video output ports: DVI, HDMI and VGA. When I connect to the TV with VGA, it works, but it is a bit choppy. When I connect with the DVI, DVI to HDMI cable, it works, but I can not set the resolution of the screen.
