    I am running Windows XP

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. • WIN VISTA: After installing new drivers through the utility Dell to keep the PC to date, DVD not working anymore (and not located in the bios Setup)

When starting, it not recognizing my DVD drive more.  I went into the bios setup and it does not appear in there.   I have to re - install the bios?  or ....???

    Hello

If the drive does not appear in the BIOS, there is a hardware problem - either with the player, wiring,
    or the motherboard interface circuits.

Check with a real computer store (the one that makes its own internal circuits and not of leeks and poster
a Best Buy or other stores) or Support of Dell.

    Hello @curtm,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post about how you look to set up your BIOS in a certain way, and I'd be happy to offer my help!

Unfortunately, the BIOS is configured so that firmware can be largely personal. Set apart to access the different categories in the main menu of the BIOS, there are no other options to change the nature of the BIOS on your computer.

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards

  • C50-A-180 satellite how do I enter the BIOS Setup?

    Hi guys,.

I have no idea how I can get into the Setup of BIOS of Satellite C50-A-180.
I've tried some of the F1, F2, ESC, but I can't make it work. Maybe I do something wrong, too.

I want to delet Win 8 and install Win 7, I need the bootorder for this purpose.

I hope any of you have a clear description how enter the BIOS of this model.

    Hello

Before you anything please create recovery media (DVD or USB drive). After the new operating system installed, you will not be able to install the original image of the HARD drive recovery. Don t forget it is very important.

So, after you do this proceed to a complete stop - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
Recommencer start laptop, then press F12 to get into the boot menu. There you can choose the first boot device.

One last thing. Before you begin with Win7 installation check if your laptop is supported and Toshiba offers all the drivers, tools and utilities.

  • Portege Z30 - cannot access the bios Setup

    Hello

I can't enter BIOS setup when starting. Pressing on F2 allows me to enter the master password and HDD/SDD (confirmed validation), but the screen freezes at the "Toshiba configuration utility' graphics without any progress.

This problem began to appear quite suddenly, I enter the setup of BIOS several times before without any problem. The only change that's happened that I know is an event of disruption/recovery failed.

My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that? Is it possible to force it to boot normal start time? I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.

    > I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.
That s bad:(dans le Toshiba HW Setup vous trouveriez un paramètre pour modifier l'option vitesse de démarrage.)

    > My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that?
Hmm in my opinion, if the start-up speed would be set to fast, you wouldn't be able to press F2 and enter the BIOS password.

However, in other cases, if the startup mode is set to fast, you can enter the first INS key BIOS and press the F2 key

    Give it a try.
